Baby MacBean was AMAZING! You won't find a better daycare. They implemented a curriculum--even at…read morethe infant level--that included sensory activities, art, reading, and science. My son was actively engaged every day with painting, dancing, growing plants, cooking lessons, and story time. By 18 months, my son knew four colors, spoke in 3-4 word meaningful sentences, asked questions, had a vocabulary of well over 100 words, could name a dozen animals and their sounds, played pretend, and could identify a word on each page of his favorite books. He cleaned up his toys when asked, apologized when he hurt someone, said please and thank you, and even cleared his own dishes and wiped his spot at the table after dinner. That kind of independence and empathy at such a young age was extraordinary--and entirely due to the care and structure Miss Cassie provided. By age 4, my son was reading, writing his name, cutting complex shapes, counting to 100, and could name all the planets in the solar system along with their characteristics, among many other advanced skills. If you want your child to gain lifelong social-emotional skills and enter kindergarten well above grade level, this is the place. The waitlist can be long, but Miss Claudia does her best to accommodate working parents.

Stay away! At first,…read morewe had very high hopes after meeting Ms Claudia and doing the complete tour of all locations. There were few red flags at the beginning, but being new parents, we kind of brushed them off. Big mistake: 1) Ms Claudia tried to change the diaper of our 1yr old daughter. She tired to have her lay down on a changing pad, which our little one would have none of it. Our girl was hysterically crying and trying to break free from this woman who has "extensive experience". We couldn't believe what we were seeing: Ms Claudia totally ignored our girls hysterical crying, and continued her "left-right" story as if this is normal. It is not normal. My wife made sure to let her know that our little one has never cried like this, not even during her vaccine shots! 2) During one of our visits, we heard barking from one of the rooms, and were told that one of the dogs recently gave birth that there were 6 puppies. I love dogs, but 6 puppies + 2 adult dogs in a fairly tight indoor space is not ideal when toddlers are trying to nap. We made sure to read the Parent Handbook and fill out the forms and pre-pay for the first month tuition, even though we were just starting the 4-week Trial Period. Our child only attended 2 days (in the Trial Period). I informed Ms Claudia that we will not continue further, and only ask that we are refunded for the pre-paid monthly tuition ($1,995). In her Parent Handbook (pg 14) it clearly states the following: "At any time during the four (4) week trial period, if the provider or family feels that this is not a suitable arrangement for the child, the contract can be terminated by either party without penalty, notice, or specific reason. The security deposit will be refunded in full and the family will only be responsible to pay for the days attended." Totally reasonable. We had no problem paying for the 2 (gentle days) she attended along with the non-refundable registration fee. But there is a catch! When I brought up the tuition refund, I was informed that the "tuition" is non-refundable. A tuition paid for a month in advance, where my child never attended a single day. You've gotta be kidding me! I will seek legal advice since this is clearly breach of the contract we signed with conflicting details.

Meanwhile, the school began openly enrolling students while we were left on the waitlist with no communication. The only time we heard anything was when we reached out ourselves, and even then the responses were vague and provided no real information. After multiple calls and emails requesting an explanation and a refund, we've received no response. This lack of transparency and follow-through is unacceptable. The experience left our family feeling uncomfortable with how we were treated and questioning how families are selected from the waitlist. We are still requesting a refund for a process that was never honored. Unethical and a scam business. Reported to the CA Dept of Social Services.

Our biggest priority is knowing our children are loved, supported, and their needs are met--and Springfield has consistently delivered that and more. Both of our boys were well prepared for public school transitions and developed a genuine love of learning. It's clear the staff are passionate about what they do, and we've truly felt like part of the Springfield family. I have a degree in Early Childhood Development and toured many local preschools before choosing Springfield. In my opinion, it is one of the top preschools in the area. Yes, the enrollment process is thorough and tuition is higher than some options, but the quality of care, education, and teacher support makes that clear.

Absolutely Exceptional - More Than Just a School…read more Year after year, this Montessori school continues to amaze our family. It is rare to find a place that balances rigorous academic excellence with such a genuine focus on character development and respect. We have watched our youngest (now 4) blossom here over the last two years. The growth in his education level is nothing short of outstanding--he is learning concepts I wouldn't have expected at his age, yet he is doing it with joy and curiosity. But beyond the academics, what impresses me most is the school's commitment to constantly bringing in new activities and enhancing the learning environment. They never settle; they are always finding ways to be better. A few amazing days of the year for you and the family: All the Holidays - The school ensures we celebrate holidays from across all cultures and life. Fathers' Night: An amazing way to connect their children with their fathers. One of the best moments I look forward to every year. I Mother Tea Time: Another amazing experience for the children to spend some quality academic and fun time with their moms. This standard of excellence isn't limited to just one teacher; it is consistent across the board. Every staff member, at every level, cares deeply about these children. If you are looking for a place that will truly invest in your child's future, this is it. We couldn't be happier.

From the beginning, Ms. Sharon and Ms. Aariah have made learning fun and exciting. At just 3 years old, he comes home teaching us American Sign Language and counting in both English and Spanish. It is amazing to see how much he is absorbing and how proud he is to share it. He enjoys his time in daycare with Ms. Lisa and always looks forward to his mornings with Ms. Amy. The consistency and care from each teacher make such a difference in helping him feel comfortable and supported. The teacher aides and support staff are always very warm, caring, and attentive. Whether it is a quick greeting at drop-off or helping the children through their daily routines, they create such a calm and positive atmosphere. As he prepares to graduate to the next age group, I asked him which class he would like to move into next. His immediate response was, very matter-of-factly, "Ms. Sharon. That is MY class." Then he began listing everyone's names because he truly loves them all. Ms. Shaku's leadership and dedication to building a strong community for both the children and parents are clear. Her focus on creating a positive environment where kids can thrive is deeply appreciated. Montessori School of Brentwood has been such a special part of our lives. We are so thankful for everything the staff has done to help our child grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy.

We were even worried our kiddo, who would only nap in our arms and was very much in a Mama-only stage, would be too challenging. Fortunately, Racheal is a baby/toddler/child whisperer and our kid adjusted seamlessly. Racheal has created a fun and engaging safe space for the kids to thrive. Our baby now cries when it times to leave--not wanting to say goodbye to their friends. There is art, story time, tons of outdoor play, thematic months, etc. As an infant, there was also lots of floor play. We receive updates throughout the day via a convenient app. Racheal has been excellent with communication in general. Our kiddo is so happy that we are even considering adding more days for more time! Learn & Grow with Racheal has been one of the best decisions we've made and we truly couldn't be happier.

There are literally tons of tripping hazards/ garbage all over the black top "playground," which is a glorified basket ball court. I was alerted to injuries my child endured weekly from trips/ falls/ scratches/ collisions. I dropped in to check in on my son one day, after being alerted of a particularly upsetting day my child was having and was rushed off, though was cordial about the whole situation. I was then contacted by the director who stated she was told by one of the instructors I presented as "very upset," and to let her know if I was ever to want to drop in ahead of time. The real kicker for us though was that the school had a horrible flea infestation, where they were having to call pest control to spray pesticides in the classrooms and all around the playground several times a week (which did not correct the flea problem). When I expressed my concern after the flea issue wasn't resolved several weeks later, as well as my concern for my child being exposed to chemicals, I was met with defensiveness from the director. Naturally, I asked to be reimbursed for the month I had to pull out my child from the program, as the classrooms were uninhabitable, and there were several reports of children being bitten and bringing fleas home with them. The director refused to reimburse me at first, and then communicated she would not do so unless I agreed to her suggestion of pulling my son out of the program permanently, resulting in her keeping my $925 deposit. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!! The director is only concerned with profit, not the welfare of your children. I still don't understand why the school hasn't been shut down.

I only have one child and she never went anywhere but here before she started TK, and I will say that as a fairly persnickety person, I have no complaints. The school director is a relaxed, genuine person who cares deeply about the well-being of the children in her care. She is perhaps not the most organized person I have ever met, but for the director of a preschool, this is not really in my top five priorities. I never worried that my child was not safe or well cared for, that she was not seen as an individual or that she was not allowed to be herself as I have heard is a problem in the other places. There's nothing cookie cutter about this place. It is rustic as you might expect from a place named "garden school," and you should not expect it to be perfect. On the outside it might not have all the shiny parts that a kinder care might or whatever, but I think my child thrived here in a way that she never could in one of those other places.
