Mari is truly a super star with StarLux. The boat she helped with was fabulous, lots of space, perfectly pristine and ready to accommodate a group of friends ready to celebrate a special birthday. The day was absolutely perfect, not too hot, not too cool, the sun was out, the drinks were flowing, the vibes were chill and music was doing its thing! We had the chance to play with the jet ski and race around monument island before we went to Nixon Sandbar, a fun boat party area and hang out with amazing people and enjoy the lux MIA lifestyle. Highly recommend to work through Mari - she KNOWS what's good!

To say we had a blast was an understatement! We went with 13 girls for a bachelorette party and it was perfect would recommend to anyone

BEST DAY EVER!!!!! My husband rented the 68' Azimut and it was spectacular! The crew was amazing, the toys on the boat were so much fun, the weather was ridiculously beautiful and Mari, the owner of Starlux took such good care of us there are just no words. If and when we do this again it will most definitely be with her. He professionalism is top notch and I interviewed 5 others before deciding to go with her....soooo happy we did! I just can't say enough great things about our experience. It truly was one of the best days of my life...thank you soooo much Mari!

The best part of the trip was how we had the boat exclusively to ourselves! I didn't know it'd be a private tour until the day I came. So, the boat was just a total of 3 people (captain included). The water temperature was great and the clarity was decent. We even saw two dolphins! You meetup at Whiskey Joe's at the marina and you can start your excursion immediately. I liked that you didn't need to wait around much. I was able to see some cool looking fish, a bottom feeder and a crab. You get 2 hours for the snorkeling and you're not required to wear any life vests (in fact, we weren't offered any and I didn't see any). The water is super shallow so it didn't seem dangerous at all. The water is also salty and easy to float in. The boat was nearby the main snorkeling area. The bad: The area for snorkeling was pretty small. It was an artificial reef where the fish were but outside of that area there is just seagrass and there's no living things to observe. The website says snorkeling starts at $75/pp and up but that's misleading b/c that's only the price if you have 8+ people. When I came to the marina, the worker who had me sign paperwork said that "$25/hour tip is required" when I got an email saying 15% tip is optional. My husband clarified and he said "yes, it's required" but later retracted his statement after I clarified that it was strange to give tip upfront before we even went on the excursion. However, I did already give 15% tip upfront on 50% of the value and then Zelled an additional $25 tip to the captain himself afterward. The cost for snorkeling ended up being $407 for 2 people (pricey). The interesting: The captain swam with us to lead us to the reef and then swam back and was mostly on his phone.

She brought ponchos so we could continue on as it rained. It was beautiful to learn about and see this neighborhood through the eyes of someone who grew up here. Toni knows so much history and seemed to know so many of the people, too! The tour has so much food - I was honestly more than full at the end and I didn't even finish all of my portions. I think it was a really good range of drinks, desserts, and food. Even though that coffee cup looks small, that's a full serving size and it was strong! I really really appreciate that this tour not only accommodated for vegetarians but also chose options for me that were realllllly good. Instead of the cubano, I had these fried plantain cups stuffed with veggies. They were SO good and seasoned well! And the spinach and cheese empanada was also amazing. My friend who got the meat options also loved her food. This tour is the perfect way to learn more about Cuban history, the history of the neighborhood, see all the street art, watch a game at domino park, and experience some of the best food in Miami. I cannot recommend this enough!!!

Its all culturally narrated with stops that include cigar factory, Domino Park, Callejon Del Gallo, Ice Cream, Cuban Memorial, classic cars, and the theatre. NOTE: As self-professed coffee snob (Jamaican Blue Mountain, Kona Hawaiian, ect) this was added to my list! Less is best when it comes to Cuban coffee. Very rich and powerful little cup. The locals warned us to sip slow, woke me right up and offered good advice on adding sweetened condensed milk. Cost 5/5 $69.99 As a self-proclaimed high low girl, this tour was right up my alley. A good cultural tour which included food, drinks, historical facts, and opportunities to socialize. I also purchased food from the bakery, cigars, Cuban coffee, drinks, and souvenirs. I had plenty of leftovers and was full when it ended. This tour is included on the "Top 10 Food Tours in the U.S." for a reason, worth the cost. Location was central and rich with cultural from the elders in Domino Park playing dominions to the colorful roosters nearby. Great experience, I learned a lot. I'm so glad we booked online because it seems like if you book in person they upsell you like crazy. I saw people with "VIP" stickers - VIP means nothing. At best dishonest and at worst, predatory. Once you book they tell you that you'll need to pay in person a half hour before your trip, which for us was 8:30. Once we paid, we were on the bus and moving AT 9 am, so make sure you are punctual. When we arrived to pay 8:30 am, the people at the counter were annoyed that we were there (we must have interrupted their social hour) and told us at their systems were down so we HAD to pay by cash. Ok, sure. It ended up being $65 instead of $58. Keep in mind that every driver and tour guide you have with this company will be aggressively nudging you for tips. The bus seats are very dirty and the stairs are narrow as heck. I saw this tour was advertised as completely accessible. This is not true. If you are a wheelchair user, do not book this tour. The ride wasn't very educational (you can learn more by Wikipedia), but it would have cost us more in car rental or Ubers to explore the city ourselves, so it gains one star for that. The tour guide was also pausing his "tour" to yell at every single person who looked to be a tourist that we were on a tour and they should join us. We were told this tour would be 2.5 hours with an hour lunch break. We were at the office at 8:30 to check in like they requested, and didn't get back to our starting point until 1:30 pm. The only way we could've gotten back earlier would've been to ditch the bus and get an uber or Lyft. At about 11 am, the driver and tour guide dropped us at a glorified bus station (fake turf, 2 toilets, 2 food trucks, a bar, and cornhole) for over an hour, after promising we'd be gone in a half hour and vaguely threatening us to be on time. We did not leave that bus station until 12:30. I called the main office twice to check where our bus was and if they were even still coming to pick us up. An hour and a half wait is insane especially when you expect a half hour. We also did not purchase a boat tour (thank god) so we had to wait on the bus as they tried to get more customers and stopped at every bus stop between the Marina and their office on Lincoln. We didn't get off the bus from 12:30-1:30, and were vaguely laughed at when we asked the ETA. IDK, we had some good points of this tour, but we were not expecting for a FIVE HOUR expedition where they tried to upsell us at every turn, and then treated us like nothing when we didn't pay more or didn't have extra cash to tip since we didn't know we had to pay in cash for the tickets. We lucked out by booking the 9 am otherwise our entire day would've been wasted by being held hostage by this tour company. We were lucky to have the rest of the day after we were finally dropped off at 1:30.

After we got back on land we headed back to the original embarkation point and took a nice ride down Ocean Drive. The tour guide had a lot of great recommendations about where to eat! Our tour guide was really great and funny. She told us to call her Sara if we didn't like the tour but now I can't think of her real name! Some of the jokes were a bit corny but it's definitely more of a family tour kind of thing, take the kids. The music was a good level, not too loud like some of the other reviews complained.
