In 2018 I retained Timothy Rowells to assist with the eviction of a deadbeat tenant. He seemed competent while discussing the matter with him on the phone. When we went to court I was horrified at his actions laughing and talking with the tenant and getting spun into her web of deceit. He seemed unable to focus on the facts and his purpose for being in the courthouse. He also provided erroneous information regarding details of an eviction. Attorney Michael Zink provided brilliant representation for me against a landlord who had committed several violations of the Chicago tenant/landlord ordinance. His argument in support of my claims was very effective and the lawsuit was settled very favorably. If I could give TEN stars, I would! I was served with a 5-Day Notice from my landlord and so I diligently researched Eviction lawyers on Yelp. However, he was going on vacation and he referred me to his colleague, Michael Zink. At first, i was sad and hesitant that Mr. Starr couldn't represent me, but as soon as I met Michael Zink, I knew I was in good hands. He was very patient in explaining to me all of my options with the pros and cons. He carefully listened to my concerns and gave good advice. He was intelligent, articulate and poised, the way a respectable lawyer should be. I cannot say enough good things about him. My landlord didn't serve me properly, the unit was illegal and I was behind rent. With all that in mind, we tried to settle our case. My landlord was greedy & stubborn and we had to go through the court system twice I had to pay SBZR twice as well, but it was worth every penny. This is the most remarkable law office- and I have such a high opinion of Attorney Michael Zink. First and foremost, I am in shock at how honest and kind he is. I own a condo in Chicago, but live in NYC. You would never find an attorney in NYC who is anything like Michael Zink (except for my good friend who is a diamond in the rough in terms of NYC attorneys- message me if you need a NYC attorney). In NYC I would be taking out a small loan to pay for the services he has provided. And instead- I am BEGGING him to take my money because I think he is doing too much work without being compensated. The amount of integrity he has is so inspirational. I have have recently had a multitude of problems with the Chicago condo, and he has been an absolute rock in terms of the support he has provided.
