There were a lot of trout in the pond. There is no catch and release in either of the ponds. Probably we dont even need a fishing road. Just putting a small net is enough to catch the fish. I caught 3. The store lady was nice. She cleaned it well. I just had to take home put some spice and bake/fry it. Fish tasted real good. In fact I saw others stopping by and just catching 1 fish per head and leaving. I guess they are just trying to make a tasty dinner. It was a really fun experience.

This is a great little place for live bait in the Arkdale/ Petenwell Lake area. It's about five…read moremiles from the entrance to the county park on Highway Z. It's a converted garage with minnow tanks and some other stuff like worms in a refrigerator. It's well maintained and has healthy bait. It's open 24/7 and self-service. There are signs inside to tell you what to do and it's a cool idea. You have to write in his book what you bought and there is a slot in the wall for your money. No one there to make change so come with smaller bills. No credit cards. Minnows or I should say the River Mix minnows were $4.50, Cheaper than the guy by the park. I just gave him five bucks for a dozen and took two minnows extra. Bring cash and please don't short change this guy. Its a little tricky to see the place for the first time but he does have some banners out front so look for those. There is a turn around in the drive so a boat is no problem. Give hime a shot if looking for bait near the county park. He is North of there near Hwy 16.

It is well organized and usually packed from floor to ceiling. The store extends through three buildings, all connected.
