There were a lot of trout in the pond. There is no catch and release in either of the ponds. Probably we dont even need a fishing road. Just putting a small net is enough to catch the fish. I caught 3. The store lady was nice. She cleaned it well. I just had to take home put some spice and bake/fry it. Fish tasted real good. In fact I saw others stopping by and just catching 1 fish per head and leaving. I guess they are just trying to make a tasty dinner. It was a really fun experience.

This strip of shops faces the Beltline/frontage road but is at an easy exit so convenient to anywhere. Easy to stop in on your way to your destination. Easy parking. I have been here as the "plus one" with the boyfriend picking up bait, line, and lures. There seems to be enough in stock to keep the guy intrigued. There seems to be a couple guys working the shop at any one time. Some are experienced sportsmen and sometimes a high school kid on his first job. All that to say, there is probably someone here to give you advice or talk shop if that's your thing. I like that they've got pics of guys and their catches up, involvement in community events like tourney sponsorships, and attention paid to keeping youth in the sports. Following the Facebook page, you'll see featured items from fresh bait updates to $400 equipment. I do believe they sell fishing licenses here. I haven't been here alone as a woman novice in these sports but I have asked a question or two on my own and felt comfortable.

Kate and her crew went over and above to make sure our experience was easy and fun. We rented a boat for the weekend as we were camping at governor Dodge state park. They also rent kayaks. Our trailer hitch wiring was the wrong one, so their boat service people actually took 2 and spliced them together for us! They plugged it in, and everything worked immediately and we were on our way. We couldn't ask for better service. They were so helpful. It's been over a month and the boat is perfect. We feel like we were treated like royalty! I would give them more than 5 stars if I could.

But, again, it was clearance season and we tried to get one at the Bass Pro Shops in the Milwaukee area and no dice. We tried Green Bay--nope. So when we found that they had one here while we were on vacation in Door County, we were hoping we'd be able to reserve it in some way without making the drive. They allowed us to do so by putting down a refundable deposit. We did so and they got the boat prepped for our purchase and we were able to pick it up a few days later. Everyone we worked with was helpful and friendly. They walked us through the boat and made sure we felt completely comfortable with everything before taking the boat away. The store itself is brimming with outdoor goodness. Everything was neat and in order and help is readily offered. No complaints! Get to it!
