Ironwood - Overpriced prime rib dinner; paid $55 for this plate.

At most 8 oz but given what a terrible cut it was irellevant. It was ordered medium rare and it came back medium to well but it was so thin it almost did not matter. It was also smothered with pepper kernals which made it worse. Definitely one of the worst steaks i have ever eaten in my entire life of 67 years. That includes supermarket steaks. Next the whipped potatoes were cold and hard. I guess at some point they were whipped? The $3 surcharge for the creamed spinach was also cold and had no taste. If this were a $10 Food Lion steak i would have been disappointed but for $65 the restaurant ahould be shut down. To top it off, the server who i had to call over as he never checked on dinner saw the steak and agreed. Yet, the restaurant did nothing to cure the issue and to add insult to injury added their 20% tip to the meal since we had a large group. DEPLORABLE!!!! This was absolutely disgraceful how the restaurant could serve a fatty small veiny, tastless piece of $65 steak and not apologize and try to cure it in any fashion. ZERO ACKNOWLEDGMENT. ....but.....they did a great job of making sure the credit card charge went through!!!

We were seated in a back room at a long table, one of three. This room was warm and lovely. One table was already occupied, the other filled up shortly before we finished. From start to finish, our dining experience was wonderful. We did not have to worry about our little ones disrupting other guests, as the other party had little ones too. Our server, Madeline, was absolutely perfect! She was attentive without being intrusive. She had a good sense of humor and guided out decisions for food when we asked. She served us promptly and with a smile and made us feel so welcomed. I wish I could remember what everyone else ordered but I do know that my Pork Schnitzel was incredible! Also huge so I had enough for another meal the next day. When I return I will order the same thing. My husband brought a birthday cake in for me and our server brought that out at the end of the meal with plates and forks for everyone. We forced her to take a piece for her break, which she goodnaturedly did. There is only one tiny tiny thing to mention: It did take a long while for the 5 year old's drink and food to arrive. Not anyone's fault, it was very very busy. But try to explain that to a 5 year old. Rolls were served but they were too spicy for her. Or maybe the butter was spicy? Maybe feed your little ones something beforehand if you go on a busy weekend night, as we did. Kudos to the kitchen for pleasing so many different tastes so much, and for management for hiring Madeline who is a great asset to your restaurant.

The decor…read moreis eclectic (I dined under a large, colorful Dr. Seuss print) with fairly closely-spaced tables that keep the room buzzing. There's an upscale bar in the entry that had several seats open even when the tables were all full. I started with the crab hush puppies. What's not to like about fried dough after all, but I didn't really get much crab flavor out of them. The buttermilk and corn preparation came through more. The entree was a showstopper, though - grilled elk chops with a pomegranate glaze and country mashed potatoes. They were scrumptious, and the al dente vegetables cooked in with the potatoes gave them a nice toothsomeness. One of the best entrees I've had in quite some time. It's nice when a menu gives you a protein choice you don't see everywhere. Parking is fine, with a paved lot in front and spaces on either side of the adjacent street. Service was welcoming and efficient.

Service is spotty at best and the atmosphere is loud and obnoxious. If you're looking for McCormick and Schmidt, Sullivan's or even Capital Grill this place doesn't measure up to them. I'll be honest, I have had a better steak at Longhorn at half the price. We had to ask 3 times for bread, the soup came out and then the entrees came out a minute later. Wait! What? This is supposed to be high end, right? We sent it back, then 2 minutes later the manager forced the entrees in front of us. A manager that was in jeans. Really? I'm guessing this is the owners kid who knows nothing about high end dining. The food was so-so. I do a better steak on my grill with Harris Teeter butcher shop steaks. The baked potato was not cooked through. The mushroom Demi glaze was a clove laden mess. Awful. It's really loud here too. Difficult to hear and have a conversation. A star for the French onion soup but that's it. Do yourself a favor and pass on this restaurant

We registered on a "waitlist" before leaving our hotel, which is ten minutes away. We still waited at least half an hour even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. Another couple, who were there waiting when we got there, just got up and left, saying they were going to Outback. We decided to stick with it, which was a bad decision. When we were finally seated, we had another extended wait for the server, who came by to take our drink order. We went ahead and gave her our food order as well. We both ordered iced tea. The server asked me if I wanted lemon for the tea, and I said "yes please - lots of lemon". When she brought the drinks there were no lemon slices at all - zero. About the food, I wanted ribeye, rare. The server recommended I get the Outlaw Ribeye, saying it would be thicker than the less expensive one, so I ordered the Outlaw. My wife ordered a shrimp dish which was swimming in butter and greasy. I don't know how thin the less expensive ribeye would have been; my "premium" cut was not an inch thick and nearly all tough fat. I could hardly chew it enough to swallow it - every single bite required a lot of chewing just to be able to get it down. The service was nonexistent until it was time to pay the check. There were no drink refills until the check was on the table. We opted to use the QR code to pay the check so we could finally get out of that place. Of course this terrible experience was not inexpensive. Our advice would be to go anywhere but here to eat.
