I'm a bit late in posting this but you know....life. About a month ago we celebrated my birthday with a dinner at Elliott's. There were 10 of us including my very young grandchildren. We were seated in a back room at a long table, one of three. This room was warm and lovely. One table was already occupied, the other filled up shortly before we finished. From start to finish, our dining experience was wonderful. We did not have to worry about our little ones disrupting other guests, as the other party had little ones too. Our server, Madeline, was absolutely perfect! She was attentive without being intrusive. She had a good sense of humor and guided out decisions for food when we asked. She served us promptly and with a smile and made us feel so welcomed. I wish I could remember what everyone else ordered but I do know that my Pork Schnitzel was incredible! Also huge so I had enough for another meal the next day. When I return I will order the same thing. My husband brought a birthday cake in for me and our server brought that out at the end of the meal with plates and forks for everyone. We forced her to take a piece for her break, which she goodnaturedly did. There is only one tiny tiny thing to mention: It did take a long while for the 5 year old's drink and food to arrive. Not anyone's fault, it was very very busy. But try to explain that to a 5 year old. Rolls were served but they were too spicy for her. Or maybe the butter was spicy? Maybe feed your little ones something beforehand if you go on a busy weekend night, as we did. Kudos to the kitchen for pleasing so many different tastes so much, and for management for hiring Madeline who is a great asset to your restaurant. read more

Hopping restaurant located on a posh residential street about a mile out of the village. The decor is eclectic (I dined under a large, colorful Dr. Seuss print) with fairly closely-spaced tables that keep the room buzzing. There's an upscale bar in the entry that had several seats open even when the tables were all full. I started with the crab hush puppies. What's not to like about fried dough after all, but I didn't really get much crab flavor out of them. The buttermilk and corn preparation came through more. The entree was a showstopper, though - grilled elk chops with a pomegranate glaze and country mashed potatoes. They were scrumptious, and the al dente vegetables cooked in with the potatoes gave them a nice toothsomeness. One of the best entrees I've had in quite some time. It's nice when a menu gives you a protein choice you don't see everywhere. Parking is fine, with a paved lot in front and spaces on either side of the adjacent street. We have dined at Elliott's a handful of times and enjoyed each time. It's a nice date night spot or place to take guests. Their fish options are always delicious and they have a nice drink menu. If you have an opportunity to get the ceviche, do it! So fresh and flavorful. Service is good. Overall nice spot! read more

Service excellent. Although after final dessert order disappears. Dessert of goat cheesecake was ok, not good. Get one of the others. Entrees were great. Caviar sampler was disappointing. Expected four different caviars but got one decent caviar with four different breads that overwhelmed the caviar. Wines were indifferent and the entire dinner at $250 was ok. I would recommend for a special occasion but don't expect too much. It's average for fine dining nationwide. Maybe slightly below because prices in this smaller town reflect DC. or NYC prices. read more

I was in Pinehurst visiting family and was told that this was a must try place- they were correct! Not only was it beautiful inside, but the food was great! The truffle Mac and cheese was SO good and we weren't even going to get dessert, but after seeing their dessert presentation (yes I said presentation) we had to get some! Shout out to our waitress (I sadly can't remember her name) who was also from PA and made us feel right at home! We'll definitely be back for another visit! read more

Never disappoints! The martinis, crab hush puppies, elk, and halibut are divine! Most everything is farm to table, quiet atmosphere, wonderful and warm service. It's a go-to for special occasions for sure. read more

All three of us were quite pleased with our meals. But special acclaim goes to the Shrimp and Grits. I find that mustard often takes over dishes. In the grits Elliott's hit the mark for perfect use of mustard. This dish was amazing! I also very much enjoyed the lentil and mushroom bolognese. read more

First time visitor. The facility looked very attractive and clean. I ordered the Reuben sandwich. The plate looked attractive with the chips and pickle. I took.a bite from.the sandw sandwich and pulled out a big piece of fat. After pulling out fat again and again, I finally pulled the sandwich apart and pulled the fat off the slice and ate what little lean meat was on there. I.dont know how a chef could in good conscience send out an order that disgusting. On.the positive side my wife's vegetable wrap was very good....but it would be hard to screw up a vegetable wrap. read more

Dined here for husband's birthday. He had the Marget duck which was cooked nicely and I had the filet mignon cooked to exact temp as ordered. We also were able to choose a dessert on the house at the end of our meal. We enjoyed the decor and music that played in the background. Servers were kind and made our night very special. While staying in Pinehurst we were able to get reservations for Elliot's. We were seated right away and our waiter came right to our table. We ordered a variety of drinks appetizers and food. We got a charcuterie board, crab hushpuppies, New York strip, lamb Wellington, truffle Mac and cheese and an apple crisp and chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was cooked perfectly and brought out in a timely fashion. Our service was incredible. This is a great place to go to celebrate a special occasion! read more

Stopped in without a reservation and we were seated in the bar area at a high top which was great. The ambiance is very comfortable and inviting. We started with a couple of drinks which were wonderful and ordered from the specialty menu. So many great dishes to choose from. They have a very nice wine menu as well. Everything was served hot and prepared perfectly! The service was good. Our waiter was busy with a few other tables but was very pleasant . We enjoyed our visit to Elliot's and we will return. Favorite date night destination The farm to table food is absolutely delicious. Kudos to the chef. We've been there twice and tried something different each time. And both times we were "mmm mmm mmm!" the whole time we were there. Unique appetizers, beautifully creative entrees and melt in your mouth delicious desserts. Elliott's has been in Pinehurst for many years, and there's a reason: it's a real gem! They have some basics, but there are lots of places in Pinehurst to get a good burger. Treat yourself to some of the wonderful, inventive items on the menu. The brining of the pork chop (and the mustard gravy!) make it so special. The grilled octopus is fantastic, as are so many of the offerings. Check out the specials on the big blackboard, too! The imaginative drinks are on point, too. Try Elliott's, definitely! Do make a reservation, though; they are a local favorite and the dining room fills up quickly! read more

Overall, very impressed. Excellent wine list selection. The old fashion was marginal at best - small volume with lots of small ice cubes. Crab hushpuppies were excellent. Strip steak was great. We drove out to EOL from Fayetteville for a special occasion and we were super happy with our choice. It was our servers third day and she was absolutely adorable and so kind! Truthfully, the entire restaurant was bursting with good vibes and friendly staff. We love wine, but we definitely aren't wine experts. Our waitress was helpful with selecting a red wine that I loved. And there is a nice drink selection for anyone to find something they'll enjoy! We started with the shrimp and grits to share and they were phenomenal! My boyfriend had to run out to the car and I had to control myself from eating it all before he came back. Followed by the stuffed chicken and waffles and the pork schnitzel. Both fabulous. We just took turns eating off of each other's plates! We ended it all with the goat cheese cheesecake which was highly recommended by our waitress as well, and rightfully so! We can't wait to come back. read more

Never have I before seen a restaurant force a patrons out just to fill it with a new party. I would get it if were where sitting there for 4 hours and not ordering anything. We were only a party of 5. It had only been about 1hr 30 min since being there. When the server came over, we had asked to order dessert. He then left to bring over the dessert tower they use to show off their options. After telling us the options the server then told us, that he would have to move us to another table because they had another dinner party waiting. At first we said this is a bit weird but sure. Then after he left and came back he then said sorry the only seating we have is outside. It's 40 degrees outside lol. We then refused deserts and paid our bill. This is beyond disrespectful to your customers. Especially after they are paying $800 for a dinner of 5. We also came here the day after thanksgiving and were impressed which is why we came back. That dinner cost was $700. So keep in mind we have already paid $1,500 to this establishment. If you need to kick out patrons just so you can stick another dinner party in, give them some sort of voucher, discount, bottle of wine or something. Better yet, as the manager or owner say it yourself instead of making your server do it. I can tell the server was beyond uncomfortable. We didn't let that ruin his tip but I can tell you we will never go to this establishment and do not recommend any other person do the same. Beyond disrespectful. read more

We are locals but had never been to Elliot's, the food was fantastic, obviously it is finer dining so go in with the preparation to spend more money than a usual night out, but me and my boyfriend both said numerous times that it was the best steak we had ever had. I had the filet mignon and he had the ny strip (I think, whatever the only other steak is,) I had a peachy keen since it was peach week, it was delicious! Service was great, our server was helpful and nice, other workers in the restaurant such as food runners and the manager checked on us! We went to Elliotts on Linden as part of a two couple date the weekend before Valentines. We came to a very tight parking area but we're lucky to find a spot midway the front. We were seated shortly after our 7:30 reservation. The server Emanuel went to the first couple and ordered what we thought were drinks which we ordered as well. There was no recommendations or anything I would expect at a high end restaurant. Shortly after ordering what we thought were drinks, appetizers came to the table which I thought was an accident. The other couple told us that he had asked them about appetizers which he never mentioned to us. We were finally able to get his attention and order our appetizers. We finally were brought the table biscuits and when our server set them down, he broke the cocktail glass of the other party at the table and had to remake the drink. We then proceeded to order our food which was all delicious and gorgeously prepared. Shortly after 9, Emanuel skipped past our table finally and said because we ordered medium well, our food was taking longer to cook. At 9:17 exactly after noticing most of the restaurant cleared out, I asked a woman cleaning a table beside us what time did they close as we still did not have food. She told me 9:30 but did let us know that we would be able to finish our meal. Right before closing, we received our meals. The other couple was very disappointing as we waited for drink refills and continued to notice service from other servers was way above the level we were receiving. They promptly had their food boxed. My husband and I ate our food. Unlike other tables, no one came out and presented dessert options or asked if we wanted anything else. Emanuel had disappeared completely other than to return with our tickets. My husband after waiting for a long period finally got up and went to find the missing server to give him his tip in hand to make sure that he received it. And honestly, I cannot even tell you why we tipped what we did. The food was honestly excellent but our experience was probably "fair" at best. Maybe it was a bad night but not what I expected from this level of restaurant. My recommendation would be takeout. read more
