She was unprofessional and disreputable…read more She walked into the building, arriving for work, 5 minutes past my appointment time, said "oh do I have a patient?" and proceeded to chat about Thanksgiving with another employee and settle in for another 15 minutes before shouting down the hall for me to come in-- keep in mind, this was the first time I ever met her, and this is how she greeted a new patient. She recommended that I take walks (even though I just told her that I did), not watch the news (though she did tell me I should be politically aware and made a political statement about the election), and take two showers a day because those things will "elevate my mood." Most egregious--she prescribed Lexapro and Effexor together. These two meds can cause a rare but potentially fatal condition called serotonin syndrome. She did not mention this and let me make an informed decision about the risk, nor did she mention any side effects I should be on the look out for. To me, this borders on malpractice. I switched to another nurse practitioner in different practice, and she was horrified that I was prescribed this combination of meds and immediately took me off one. There are signs all over about payment and not cancelling appointments. This place felt like it was all about the money with no concern for the level of care.

Now I have an appt today & they refuse to see me until I pay the $90 fee. I had an appt with them in the past & the therapist never even showed. I sat there for an hour waiting for her... no show, no one in the building, etc. Did I get reimbursed for that? NO. Would they give me a warning for missing 1 session in the last year? NO. John who sits at the front desk is a miserable human being. Not friendly when you walk in. Never knows what's going on. My treating physicians, as well as other independent medical evaluations, have documented findings consistent with traumatic brain injury/post-concussion syndrome and ongoing symptoms affecting my daily functioning. These opinions were based on clinical evaluations over time and supported by diagnostic testing and imaging studies. In contrast, this IME concluded that there is no cognitive impairment and attributed my symptoms primarily to adjustment disorder. I believe this conclusion does not fully reflect the broader medical record, the longitudinal nature of my symptoms, or prior diagnostic findings from other medical professionals involved in my care. They see about 20 people in one day. They are so overwelled. My poor daughter in one year had six different therapists. She was so upset. When I called management about this I got yelled at. One nurse practitioner my daughter had was constantly nasty to me. The reason why I am posting this is because I don't want anyone to go through what my children went through.
