FIGS is intentional about providing athletes with high-quality coaches who bring collegiate-level and international playing and coaching experience, but what makes those coaches truly special is the personal connection they build with their athletes. We have watched our daughter develop tremendously as a volleyball player, but the growth that matters most to us goes far beyond volleyball skills. Let me start off by saying-- Our daughter has learned and developed more at FIGS in ONE year than 4 years at any other club thanks to Juanchi and Caitlyn! FIGS is NOT about "how many people can I pack into my club and take club fees and move on." They are very family oriented and care about the players. Not only do they take the time to get to know the girls but the parents as well. I love that they actually care about the players improving their volleyball skills and working with the players to meet their goals- not just letting them make the same mistakes over and over. The facility has everything a player needs to be a great volleyball player including top elite coaching and an amazing culture. It seemed like finding a club that didn't have drama or a toxic culture wouldn't be possible until we met Juanchi. FIGS was highly recommended to us by friends for a while, and I'm glad we finally found our volleyball home. I could go on forever about all the great things this club has to offer. You couldn't find a better club than FIGS and their coaches. They are a very honest and straightforward volleyball club. There's no gimmicks or distractions. But since they cant waived the annual fee I was told that my April and May bill would be waived. Our family had a very disappointing experience with BRUSA Volleyball. My daughter joined the club…read moreexcited about developing as a player and pursuing the opportunity to compete for a USA Volleyball Nationals bid, which was an important factor in our decision to join. Unfortunately, after the season began & commitments were signed, the coaches ultimately decided not pursue USA Nationals despite our understanding that it was a possibility communicated to families if the team earned a bid. Throughout the season, we found that asking respectful questions about athlete development, practice structure, and team plans was often met with avoidance & defensiveness rather than open communication. As parents, we believe questions should be welcomed and addressed professionally. As the season progressed, we experienced increasing communication difficulties, inconsistent expectations, and what we felt was a lack of transparency regarding decisions affecting our daughter. When we attempted to work through concerns with club leadership, we did not feel they were meaningfully resolved. Ultimately, our daughter was removed from the team with only two tournaments remaining, which was devastating to our athlete & has affected her desire to continue the sport. Every family's experience may be different, and many athletes may have positive experiences here. However, we encourage prospective families to ask detailed questions before committing, including: - How decisions regarding USA Volleyball Nationals are made and communicated. - How parent concerns are handled. - What the process is for resolving disagreements with coaches. - How athlete development opportunities are managed when concerns arise. Our hope in sharing this review is not to discourage athletes from pursuing volleyball, but to encourage transparency and communication so other families can make informed decisions. We sincerely wish all of the athletes the best and hope every player has a positive and supportive club experience.

This place is like the gym Average Joe's in the movie Dodge Ball (except not the good guys, just…read morethe average part). They have some great instructors, but unfortunately the members create an atmosphere of insecurity and fear. If you show up with any experience, confidence, or heaven forbid are good looking, in shape, and not religious, then you will be hated like you're a Globo Gym member. Not only will they hate you, they will begin to spread lies and rumors about you and give you dirty glances. We witnessed them allow a member to continuously cause trouble, disobey the rules of the mat, and disrespect other members of the gym and the instructors and manager never did anything until after 9 months of not paying his dues they finally kicked him out. This guy was over 6' tall, 270 pounds, tattoos on his face... he was intimidating. He was also a very poor sport, no sportsmanship and no regard for etiquette. He threw tantrums when he didn't get submissions in jiu jitsu, he was always challenging the upper ranked belts to prove himself, he tried to start physical altercations with professional fighters at fight night, he tried to start fights with my husband threatening him through text, and they even allowed this member's young son to accost little girls in jiu jitsu, making creepy comments to them, and bullying other members of all ages, much like his father. There is a heavy Christian influence pervading the place, which seems to encourage the negative behavior. They forgive the bully over and over which punishes the victims. That member was just one example of the culture at large. Be aware of the groups of women who are there every day who act like they own the place and bully around doing what they want without consequences, acting like their membership doesn't cost the same as yours. If you want to go back to high school but pay for it, then this is your spot.

At this particular location.... Is it possible to have staff walk around and put equipment back…read morewhen certain members refuse to do it for whatever reason? Instead we get swap market memorabilia auctions at the entrance that I can't believe corporate allows this. The entrance is cluttered with garage sale items and if I wanted the swap market I would go to a swap market. There are members that bring in cardboard boxes with them into the gym weight area one lady had what looked like tomatoes and or produce and others bring in boxes and a 12 pack of eggs into the weight area. Why is there a 12 pack of eggs sitting on the ground in the artificial turf area lmao This LA fitness is good if you want to bring in a bag or even multiple bags with you no matter the size and even your own equipment inside your large bags because the staff here doesn't walk around and enforce any rules. You also can bring in your own outside trainer or be an outside trainer here and have multiple clients and sit on the equipment your client isn't using. If you like to take equipment away from its designated area or assigned spot it's ok too you don't have to return it. You can leave medicine balls, slam balls, dumb bells anywhere you want. You will never see the front desk employees return anything back and occasionally you will see a cleaner put something back but that is very rare. At this location you can put aerobic step platforms anywhere you want and leave them there in the middle of the walk way.... It's definitely ok. You are also allowed to put the sanitary wipes the gym provides and stick them everywhere. Stuff them inside the cable areas every where it's ok here. Any recommendations to current management or what could be considered a complaint and or a report of some sort of violation of their rules probably will not get looked into unless it's someone video recording and they will say something about that which is good. You still have the same members doing the same thing manipulating many different stuff and leaving that stuff anywhere they want.
