This is the jewel of Oldham County. Starview has an enormous selection of healthy plants at a much better price than other big plant retailers. They also have a large variation of exotic cacti, with numerous prickly pear and barrel cacti. However, the conditions in the greenhouse are very humid, which is not the best for optimal cactus health. Still, they are growing strong. The service was also very polite and friendly, which is much more rare nowadays. When I had trouble finding the price of several items, two employees were very diligent in answering my questions. This will be my new destination for acquiring cacti and succulents! read more

Great Service. The staff are always super friendly and helpful. Prices are as good or better than most; and plants are very healthy. We went on May 1,2025 (much later than I usually start) they still had a fully stocked greenhouse. I especially love that they have plants I don't see at other places. We have purchased everything from annuals to trees and they stand behind their plants. Well worth the trip from Louisville. read more

This place is awesome!!! We have been coming here for YEARS! Never a bad experience. If you come after derby (or even derby weekend) you may be limited on what is left. However- it isn't the nursery fault that they are popular. The guys and gals will bend over backwards to help and make spot on recommendations. I love this place! When a hint of spring is in the air, get yourself to Starview. This place is like Disneyland for plants! Mostly outdoor plants here, but they also have houseplants. Inside, they have all the necessary gardening "helps" for gardeners. They get pretty low in stock as the Summer turns into Fall, but they do have a few trees. This year tree stock was low early, probably due to the pandemic. Maybe everyone spent time growing and planting? Why not? Nothing else to do. In November, they close. The sign out front says "Closed until the Christmas Season", so I'm assuming they will reopen any day now. read more

Well, I drove the 40 minutes from Louisville to get here, and wow... there were almost NO plants! Ok, so maybe this was due to Covid, but they should have put this on their website that it was limited inventory. The greenhouses were empty, and the ONLY plants there were in a maybe 10x10 ft spot in the parking lot, with a couple of racks next to that. And most plants looked pretty feeble. I asked at the counter if this was really it, and I only got a yes... not even an explanation or sorry... maybe next year I will try again, but will for sure call first... read more

Been getting flowers here for years. They started with one greenhouse. Their hanging baskets are $16.99 and big. Great place/people.

Great selection of plants and helpful staff. I was able to find a Passion flower which I had been looking at other greenhouses for and not able to find. Only problem is that prices are not clearly marked and the price I was told be one staff member was different then when I went to check out. Caution!!!!! I purchased a large order of flowers for an HOA. From the start, the employees at this store were very unfriendly. This was a Monday morning and few customers in the store. This type of attitude normally starts from the top. I selected some plants in hand and and asked an employee the cost, she said $1.25 each flower. After hauling the whole order of over 20 flats, to the front, and then to the register(different person), she said the flowers were $4.49 ...big difference. Had to start the search from the beginning. Once new flowers where selected, went back to register with order form. She charged me for plants not on the order form or that I requested. When I requested the error be corrected, employee became upset. I paid for the flowers and left. On my 45 minute drive back home, the owner of Starview called me and yelled at me because I caught the error. Obviously, the checkout person did not menition the errors, just that she thought I was rude. As I tried to communicate to the owner, he simply kept yelling and and then started to threaten me saying I needed to return to the store so he could "have it out" with me. I will never buy from this place again. This owner is a "hot head", so be careful. read more

I am not much for shopping. I like to get what I want and get out. I contacted Starview about some plants I needed and received a quick response with the information I needed. When I went to look at the plants I found someone to point me in the right direction in a professional manner, and no attempt to try and sell me anything. The plants (azaleas) were in great shape - the best I have seen. Picked out my plants got my ticket, very friendly lady to take my money, and quick and easy pick up. I will go back to walk around a little bit; definitely going back if I need more plants. read more
