A few months ago I was looking for a body shop to paint the hood & roof of my SUV.... The quotes I got for painting only the hood & roof ranged from $800 - $3,000!!! Quick & straight to the point!! He also told me exactly when to drop off my car in & he even told me what day & time it would be ready!!! Everything about Herman inspired confidence!! Needless to say, I accepted his quote on the spot. Herman was true to his word in every way!!! The paint job was amazing & my car was ready at the exact time he'd promised!!! There is one other point I should mention. As it turns out, painting the roof of my SUV turned out to be more labor intensive than Herman had anticipated. But Herman never deviated from the price he quoted me. He gave me his word & his word turned out to be as good as gold!!! I got a great paint job, at a fair price & amazing service!!! I drove my 2014 off of the lot in mint condition fully insured and with a paper tag. Some careless individual decided to bounce off of my rear left quarter panel where the bumper joined the body and left some serious visible damage. I was mortified to say the least. I can't say enough good things about State Auto Body and its' owner, Herman, They repainted a restored Mercedes for me two years ago, and it looks better than new. They delivered quality workmanship and he is an honorable nice businessman. He kept me up to date as the work was being done, and delivered it as promised. I recently took another car in to have a dent removed from the hood caused by a fallen Royal Palm frond. When I picked up my car, he said "No charge as you are a good customer." I was so surprised and grateful. He doesn't just think of the cash register. He knows I'll be back, but hopefully only for another restoration repaint for another car. It's difficult to recommend people and places today, and many women get taken to the cleaners. State Auto Body is the best! I have been bringing my vehicles to Herman for over 10 years now. He has done work on several cars that I've owned, ranging from crashes to paint damage to parking lot dings/scratches. My family has also been coming to his shop for many many years. I would not trust anyone else to do work on my vehicle. I have moved away from FL and now reside in NC. Recently, someone side swiped my Mercedes C300 Sport at a parking lot and left a big gash. I met Hernan ,owner of state auto body in 1994 when he repaired and painted my 1984 Ford F-150 pickup for me . What a fantastic job and fantastic man , we have been friends ever since and he has done work on all of my vehicles since . This morning I drove 120 miles from Vero Beach , Fl to give over to him my beloved VW Mk4 golf GTI 24 valve VR6 . He going todo body work and requested modifications along with a complete new paint job . I am unbelievably excited , the man is a master craftsman and creative genius . Can't say enough about State Auto Body. If you want to know what sort of car owners go there, take a peak in their auto bays -- Mercedes, 'Vettes, Porsches. And working person cars like my Honda Fit. A friend recommended Herman's shop (he runs it with some of his family) a few years ago when a gardener tipped over my Vespa and scratched up the side.
