If you believe in anything higher than 'self,' pray that you are never hit by a STATE FARM INSURED DRIVER. I have been broadsided! T-Boned last week by a careless driver, and my rare BMW Touring wagon, we believe, is totaled. State Farm has DENIED LIABILITY. How would I have broadsided myself? My car is not Michael Jackson with the ability to moonwalk sideways. I am recently retired, live with my dog in a Tiny House, on a pension, and my bank account dipped last month to $2.17. I don't know what to do. I wrote advertising copy for many years and always focused on two things - "catchy and HONESTY." That "Like a Good Neighbor" line is just that! A line. I've had to count pennies simply to come up with enough to buy myself and my dog, food. This is foreign to me. My best friend passed last month. Two of my beloved dogs last year. I lost others and am living in severe grief - and now this. There are witnesses to this crash - and STATE FARM will NOT accept their eyewitness testimony because they could not remain on the scene until police slowly arrived. Had to pick up a child from school.. In the meantime, the STATE FARM manager sat at home with his children playing in the background as he snickered and denied a HIGH IMPACT T-BONE CLAIM. Their insured consistently lied on the scene saying that she, in a Jeep Cherokee stopped at the four way stop. She then hit me at HIGH SPEED causing deep damage, destroying my passenger side. EMT's on the scene said that only a Ferrari would have been able to get to that kind of speed from a 'stop, in seconds. State Farm - can't see it. State Farm should be ashamed. I could not sleep at night saying "claim denied - call your own insurance" for a cut and dry case like this one. I will tell about this to the moon and back. Back in June, I was rear ended by a State Farm (SF) insuree who admitted to "putting on her shoes while driving/approaching a red light". I have dash cam footage and a police report. When I dropped my car off at the mechanic, I requested only OEM parts for repairs as my car is only 4 years old, low mileage, and in great condition. State Farm refused to cover repairs with OEM parts and instead would only cover aftermarket and/or "reconditioned" parts. All I wanted is for my car to be returned to its pre-existing condition, which doesn't include aftermarket parts. The State Farm manager I spoke to was EXTREMELY rude and had an attitude from the beginning. Aside from her attitude, she said they would not pay for OEM parts and that aftermarket is the same quality as OEM (lie). The mechanic even told me that they have had so many issues with aftermarket not fitting properly. The SF manager said I was made whole when State Farm admitted fault and agreed to pay for repairs with aftermarket parts - that it was my personal decision to have repairs made with OEM. Granted, I'm not a SF customer, but if they treated me this way, they will treat their customers this way. Now, I am liable for the cost difference because they wouldn't cover repairs to my car in full using OEM parts to get my car back to its pre-existing condition before their person got me. Was victim of a hit and run by someone insured by State Farm. Dashcam video forced them to accept responsibility-- almost. The body work on my car was done well. Yet State Farm claimed the mechanical issues were due to "normal wear and tear". That decision was made in spite of the fact that my car was serviced two and a half weeks prior to the accident-- and had no mechanical issues. The only intervening incident was the accident. So, if you have the misfortune of getting hit by someone insured by State Farm, be prepared for the possibility of a fact-free decision to deny your claim. My husband and I have been State Farm customers for over 30 years. Recently, we have had number of storms that caused roof damage so we made a claim with our agent who has been with us twenty plus years. To keep the long story short, State Farm have denied our claim even though we had an independent contractor and State Farm's own contractor Seek Now say that we've had hail damage. Somehow, we had hail damage in our down spouts and gutters but not the roof and State Farm's estimated damage willing to pay for comes up right under the deductible, so magically our claim is just under $1000 and we don't get any reimbursement for our claim. How is it that the hail only happen to our next door neighbor who State Farm just replaced his roof for hail damage? We have many times left phone messages to Kellie Lagatta (claim manager) but she never calls us back but today, we get a very threatening email from Jamie Horne claiming questions as to our compliance with "your duties after loss". I called Mr. Horne and said we have not yet received a call from anyone from your engineering company. I wanted to ask a few questions as to why our phone calls were not returned and why should we trust this engineering company when we already had two state farm adjusters looked at our roof and denied us. However, I never got to ask questions because he hung up on me because he over heard me asking my husband if we should record the conversation. Mr. Horne just said you do not have permission to record this conversation and hung up. I'd like to know why we cannot record and document our conversation. When State Farm send us a very legal threatening email, don't you think we should record the conversation to make sure it gets documented? Also, somehow the engineering company called right after Mr. Horne hung up on us. Is this a pure coincidence? I'd like to ask State Farm: How would you like to be treated this way as a long customer? It is taking too long for State Farm to send out a plumber to determine the source of the water pipe bursting in Bldg 35. This is no rocket science. It has been 6 days since the water pipe burst in Bldg 35, in the meantime the residents of building 35 are without water, and no one is able to to fix the pipe because of the wait required for State Farm or HOA to take care of it and determine liability. Yesterday, I got a hold of Tribeca Plumbing, https://www.tribecaplumbinginc.com/, 214-402-5454, and they were going to come to Bldg 35 to determine the source of the pipe bursting - in fact they told me they had come the day before to Bldg 38 for a similar issue; however, due to the fact that Worth Ross Management mentioned State Farm is still trying to get someone at Bldg 35 to determine the source and liability of the pipe burst, I had to cancel Tribeca Plumbing. I think they are purposefully delaying my claim. They call to "update " me but ask me the same questions I've already answered like four times. They promise to "get back to me with answers " but of course they never do. And they don't listen. I'll ask a specific question and they spout out a word salad that is not even related to what I asked. It's been over 6 weeks since I filed my claim and still not much to show for it. They do not resolve their liabilities. One of their insured motorists ran a red light while using a cell phone. It took State Farm 2 weeks to accept liability for the claim. Then after 2 months of work with the repair shop including 2 supplements, they determined that vehicle repairs exceeded limit of the insured motorists policy. I then had to file with my insurance company, delaying the claim further. Now after 98 days without a vehicle, State Farm is terminating the lease vehicle they gave me. My claim is still not resolved and State Farm still owes me reimbursement for my $1000 deductible on my policy. My wife is disabled and alone at home while I work. Being without a vehicle will be a serious problem for us. read more
