Finished deck with furniture back in place
    Dave W.

State Roofing does decks too? I did not know that until I noticed one of their mailers which listed decking as one of their service offerings. So, I reached out to them (as well as 4 other deck contractors based on high Yelp reviews for my area). All 5 deck companies called or emailed back immediately: * One turned me down based on their busy schedule; * One said they didn't service my area (south Everett); * One wanted $100 to come out and look at the project; * One never followed up after an initial email exchange; * State Roofing came out within 2 days to look at the project State Roofing sent out an estimator (Kerry) who must have spent close to 2 hrs at our home taking measurements and showing us samples of all the different decking options available for composite decks as well as showing us numerous pictures of their work. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional and made sure we understood all the various options. We ultimately chose State Roofing because of how crisp and professional their response was, as well as their attentiveness and interest in earning our business. Even though they were very busy (as are most decking contractors in the summer months) they were able to squeeze us in as long as we could be a bit flexible in our timing - which we were. Next step: they sent out their main decking foreman (Paul) to verify the sales guy's measurements and create the specific blueprint for the laborers. Again, I found their staff very knowledgeable and professional. This piece of the process was also smooth and informative as Paul answered lots of questions and took his time with us to ensure we were all in alignment. Final step: a few weeks later, State Roofing called to say they were ready to begin. We established a start date and two of their craftsmen arrived (Nikolai and his son) to begin the project - tearing off the old deck boards and prepping for our new Azek composite decking. They left the worksite spotless each day and were wonderful guys to work with. Their craftsmanship was excellent (see pics) and they worked hard (and fast). Bottom line: I was very happy with State Roofing. I have no complaints and I would not hesitate to recommend them (or use them again). Bigger is not always better, but these folks have their processes "down to a T" and offer great financing options as well. They instilled confidence in each step of the process. Ultimately, customer satisfaction comes down to the craftsmanship on the finished product and our new deck turned out great!

With an infant in the NICU, we went into panic mode when we discovered a roof leak in our nursery. State Roofing had the earliest availability for an estimate, and Greg (our estimator) was punctual and professional. Greg was transparent and thorough, and arrived fully prepared to address our schedule concerns. State Roofing managed communication very effectively. We were very impressed with how all of the people involved in our project knew what was going on, and kept our concerns in mind. John, the project foreman, was very communicative and was not only responsive, but also took initiative to confirm important details with us and communicate with neighbors to manage parking. When the inevitable minor mishaps happened (accidental ripped window screen, etc) John made sure to make it right, and we appreciate that. Overall, State Roofing took good care of us, and worked hard to accommodate us in a pinch. I can confidently recommend them to others.

Thank you State Roofing for leaving all of this crap in my yard. PS, I was the neighbor.

Thank you State Roofing for leaving my yard a mess. I found a number of nails, trash and random debris all in plain sight. I didn't need a magnet to find all of the nails either. They were all right on top of the grass. I also wanted to thank you for repeatedly leaving my side gate open so my dogs could get out. The super loud Ranchero music was also a nice touch. Oh, by the way, I was the neighbor. You weren't even working on my house but I got to deal with all of your unprofessional workers that gave zero F's about my property and family. Update: It looks like they have a pre scripted copy and paste response they use for all complaints

Our project was the installation of an 8' x 11' elevated attached deck. I had whittled my initial list of contractors down to six before choosing All Decks. Cost was competitive but was not the lowest bid. This was the third deck in this location. The previous two were wood. This time we chose to have a composite deck installed, to not have a stairway, and to have the area underneath the deck protected from rain. As this was an elevated deck, it was covered by municipal code requirements more stringent than when the previous two decks were built. We worked with Adam during our initial contact, and in designing the deck. We chose Dekorator planking, Trex handrails, and the Trex RainEscape system. We wanted to minimize supporting posts, as a competing bid would have used 6 posts, and we had seen decks on houses like ours that had 5 to 6 posts. All Decks was able to use only 2 posts by having larger-size (6"x6") posts and by attaching one side of the deck to our cantilevered 2nd floor. The All Decks showroom was extremely helpful in choosing materials and colors, and in evaluating the RainEscape system relative to alternative underdeck rain coverings. Kendall did thorough work when he visited to do the detailed yard survey required by code. The level of detail in the resulting documents was unexpected and illuminating. The three-man team led by Chris who put up the deck was professional and unobtrusive. A special challenge was attaching one side of the deck to our cantilevered 2nd floor as the current municipal code requires an exceptionally robust connection. Installing this connection required removing several plank-and-tongue grooves from under the overhang of the cantilevered 2nd floor, which is very difficult without causing damage. I was skeptical that it could be done and was pleasantly surprised to see the excellent appearance of the re-installed planking. (As expected, I repainted the reinstalled planks myself.) As for the steel-bar-reinforced concrete footings, Chris meticulously set their height so as to enable the potential future installation of a ground-level deck made from pavers. The gentleman who delivered and picked up materials and the portable toilet was discreet and careful. Crystle ensured smooth communications for scheduling, billing, etc. We are very satisfied with the All Decks team and their work.

They were affordable, knowledgeable, and very willing to work with my needs and my budget. They were able to obtain the permits that were needed which is an important and valuable service. They also took care of the structural engineering that was needed to make sure that we had sufficient support for the deck. Their showroom is very helpful. There are samples and some mockups of decks, railings, lighting, etc. There are lots of options and the staff was great about explaining the options but not pressure-upselling. I felt comfortable choosing the materials and extras with their help. After the project was finished, there was one support post that didn't look finished to me when I looked at it from our dining room window. All Decks was great about coming out. After seeing and understanding what I wanted to upgrade, they were able to install a matching trim piece that made the post look complete. The deck has been installed now since Oct 2024. It still looks great and I couldn't be happier.

I'm not sure why this company deserves 5 stars…read more They installed a new roof on my house in November 2025. In March 2026, I found a piece of shingle on the ground. The owner of Seattle Roofing came out and confirmed that it had come from my roof. He flew a drone to inspect the roof but said he couldn't find where it came from. Then on June 18, 2026, I noticed something else that didn't look right on the roof. I contacted the company, and a technician came out and fixed one issue, but he left without any explanation or even letting me know he was finished. Using my phone's zoom feature, I could still see an area of the roof that didn't look right. I asked the company to have the technician come back. Unfortunately, I received rude responses from Steven. He always spoke as if the problem was somehow my fault. I had to follow up several times and remind him that the rainy season was approaching, but nothing happened. This was only the second time Seattle Roofing had to send someone out to my house since installing the roof. If the job had been done correctly the first time, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Eventually, I received a response saying that the technician had determined the area was fine. I sent Steven an updated photo and asked whether the exposed section of the roof looked acceptable to him. I never received a response. You can decide for yourself by looking at the photos and determining whether you would want to hire a company that treats customers this way after they've already been paid. I spent a lot of money on this roof for the peace of mind that it would protect my home. Instead, I'm left worrying about potential issues, trying to find someone else to correct what appears to be their mistake, and still have not received any explanation as to why the exposed section of the roof is considered acceptable. Customer service and communication after the sale have been extremely disappointing.

After multiple contractors gave me inconsistent or overpriced quotes, connecting with Stephen was a breath of fresh air. His quick response and professionalism immediately put me at ease. He sent a team to the property the same day to assess the issue and provided a clear report that evening. Even better, he had a coordinated crew ready to handle everything--from the roof repair to the interior ceiling work. Within the same week, two teams were on-site, and the entire job was completed in just two days. His crew also made sure everything was clean after the job was done. My tenant was extremely happy with how efficient and seamless the process was. I also had a last‑minute request to check the smoke alarms, and despite managing the property from the East Coast, Stephen made sure it was taken care of right away. Seattle Roofing Company truly delivered. I highly recommend them and will continue using their services. Thank you to Stephen and his team!

Very Poor communication skills. (Jenny at the office even admitted this to us). We left messages about making a change to our plan - no one ever called back. Jenny who runs their home office is rude, defensive when you try to bring issues to their attention, is volatile and yells at you for no reason. She has no concept of customer service skills. When the job was finished, their focus was to get paid IMMEDIATELY without addressing our concerns about obvious decking flaws. We were worried they wouldn't keep their commitment to remove to old deck debris. Ryan (the owner ?) was sent out to "Shake us Down". During our meeting I was shocked that ACS does not take ANY responsibility for the quality of their work or any damage to our property. We have never experienced this before. We do NOT even know if their is any sort of warranty on materials or labor - we were never provided any information about a warranty. Ryan tried to explain everything away - I ended up throwing him off our property. * Regard for the Customer's Property = 2. (They staged the lumber on our green lawn instead of putting it on the driveway. Part of our lawn was destroyed as a result. No regard for the customer's property - no responsibility was taken by ACS. - not even an apology. ) At this point we are very frustrated as a customer, having lost trust in this company. Our concern was making sure that they picked up all the old deck debris before we paid them, as we no longer trusted them. After going back and forth, they picked up 3/4 of the debris and demanded payment before they picked up the rest. Really? If you call them for an estimate, 2 kindly gentleman will come out and give you a good song and dance show. Like I said we are happy with the deck, just very disappointed about the poor communication throughout the entire process and damage to our property. We have used many contractors over the years, and have never had any problems until we contracted with ACS. Be prepared for headaches if you use them.

He was competitively priced with other contractors we considered -- indeed, less expensive than some -- while offering additional details in the work we probably couldn't have gotten from another team, at least not easily. His personal attention to detail, something we've found all too often lacking in the construction industry, was very much appreciated. The only thing I could offer as an area they could have improved on is timeliness. The work was completed much later than Paul had promised; installation of the railings held up our final inspection, enough that we had to pay for another year of building permit, and delayed our move-in by a couple of months. That said, the end result was worth the wait, and by engaging the company on the project earlier in the process, a delay like that should not have much impact, if any. As the well-known triangle goes, we got "quality" and "price", so it was not too surprising that "on time" got the short end of the stick. And for us, that was a fine trade-off to make, all said and done. We have a few more "finish" details that using a metal installation is an option, and while we haven't made our final decision, most likely Contessa is going to get the call to fabricate the pieces for those details as well. We're looking forward to working with them again.
