My wife took this shuttle from JFK to Newark on 5/28/12 and had a terrible experience. The driver was obnoxious and rude and claimed that her $20 bills were fake before of course going on to accept the bills and then overcharging her by $5 from the published fare. The driver did not reveal any identities, was yelling and was obnoxious. This company appears to have no control over what its drivers are doing. read more

We used state shuttle for our honeymoon 7 years ago and they were great. Then, we decided to use them in August when we went to Florida. We had a discount coupon for 20 percent off. On our return flight, they forgot my children's booster seats we left with them from our transport to the airport. Our plan landed late and I was very upset but continued on our ride home. Our driver told us they would drop off the seats the next date. We had to call three times to get them returned and when they did, they were in a garbage bag. Unknowingly, we threw out he bag with the garbage because it wasn't labeled, and we weren't notified where they were or when they were actually dropped off. Customer service is horrible here too. read more

I used State Shuttle when I returned home from Portland, OR. I requested private, "meet and greet" service. My driver was waiting for me, I collected my bags from baggage claim, and went to the van. The vehicle was clean, the driver was friendly and professional. I had a great ride home and was very happy with the service. read more

This is the first time I've written a negative review online, but I think this warrants it: I booked my shuttle over a month ago. Yesterday, I called to confirm the time and location f my pick up. Today, 5 hours before my scheduled pick up, They phoned to tell me that my shuttle would be arriving 30minutes early, and furthermore that the reason for this was that I had used the website booking incorrectly. I spent the next hours in meetings, not able to pay attention while trying to secure a ride to the airport that didn't mean I had to leave 30 minutes early. When I confirmed a ride, I called to cancel my shuttle. I was told that I was within the 3 hour cancellation time, and therefore would be charged the full amount. When I complained, they rescheduled the shuttle so I would be picked up closer to 1:30. That's great, but the way they explained this to me was dismissive, and almost as though I should be thankful to them for providing the service I had paid for. When I pointed this out, the operator literally yelled at me, told me this all happened because I "can't read a website" and continued to berate me for not being sufficiently grateful. I hung up on her. I've never been so disrespected, let alone from an overpriced shuttle company that supposedly prides itself on customer service. read more

If you want a service that is flexible if planes have delays or cancelations do not use state shuttle. My parents have used state shuttle for over 15 years. My family has been stuck in Europe due to a major storm over the east coast. Our plane turned back mid flight over the Atlantic (4 hours into our flight). We called State Shuttle once we landed back at our original destination notifiying them. Then the following day trying to rebook our pickup they said we were "no shows" and they would not pick us up for our rescheduled flight. JFK (our destination) was closed and no flights we landing so it is peculiar why they would expect us to land at a closed airport that made nation wide news. Many times the past State Shuttle showed up late for picking up my family before but, we continued to use them for the personal costumer serivece. However, on the phone we were told we were not frequent enough users (only using twice a year valued at 1,500) to be picked up for our reschedule flight without an additional fee. We paid $295 for drop of and $295 for pick up. And now we will never be picked up. Now I will teach my parents how to use Uber which is only 150 from JFK. to our home in jersey. read more

NEVER USE STATE SHUTTLE if you want to get where you are going on time. My plan landed at 3:05, they were to pick me up at 3:20, I stepped into the van at 4:30. Needless to say the tip to the driver was "be on time next time" how is that for a good tip. I paid $300 for them to bring me and pick me up from LGA. My plane ticket to Nashville was only $249. Let me add if you get the service you are paying for it would be one thing, but come on people, one hour and 10 minutes late to pick me up and you still charged me full price REALLY!? NEVER again will I use STATE SHUTTLE my sister warned me because she had had the same problem. Why bother asking me when my flight is due to arrive if you are going to pick up me when you feel like it?! read more

I have used state shuttle for many years professionally & with my family. I have always found them to be attentive & reliable.

Made a reservation online. The driver that picked me up for my ride to the airport arrived 5 minutes early and it was a pleasant experience. However....My trip home I had a 12:18am reservation after a long flight from Las Vegas. After about 10-15 minutes of waiting I called to check on my ride. They said the driver was on his way and would be there in 10 minutes. After another 20-30 minutes of waiting and driver I called again and he then said that he would be another 15 minutes and that the driver was going to be fired after this incident. I knew after this call the driver had not even left yet and it was time to seek another mode of transportation. I was very irrate and told the dispatcher to cancel my reservation, he then hung up on me. I quickly walked over get a taxi and within just a few minutes was on my way home. To follow up I called State Shuttle today to talk about the incident and was placed on hold for 20 minutes or so. Apparently Becky is a supervisor who wasn't available so I then spoke to Nina. She was very rude, stated she was a supervisor and refused to give her last name. She then stated if I am going to talk to her in a rude way she was putting me on hold. I was then placed on hold and when she returned I continued to explain how the customer is always right and if she didn't spend most of the call trying to prove her point and being confrontational maybe something would be accomplish. Apparently records showed I was magically picked up and brought to my destination. And several follow up's occurred with airline but...No driver, no pickup, and rude Nina with no last name that needs to speak to the dispatcher at 11pm and driver to confirm my story...I will never utilize this service ever again! I have taken state shuttle from JFK to Princeton, NJ twice. The first time the money transactions were smooth. The second time I had an extremely bad experience. The company was not accepting money electronically because of Hurricane Sandy. I was told that I should pay to the company in cash on my arrival at JFK. At the ground transportation I was told that I should pay to the taxi driver. My trip had a connection at Newark. I payed the whole amount for the trip, in cash, to the driver who brought me to Newark. It was my fault that I did not ask the driver to give me a receipt. Then the connecting cab dd not arrive after a wait of 2 hours. I cancelled my reservation and was told to talk to Nina to get reimbursed. I told the customer representative that I had payed with cash, how were they going to reimburse me on phone? She did not have an answer. Now when I spoke to Miss Nina a few days later she disgracefully tells me and yells at me telling me that I had not payed the fare for my reservation. I asked her to check with her driver. Before doing that she told me that I was telling her a lie by saying that I want to get my credit back even though I had never payed with a credit card. She was so rude. Later her driver told her that he never received any payments from me. As expected... I never got my money back plus I had to listen to disgraceful comments from Miss Nina. I can understand that it was my mistake that I did not take a receipt from the driver, but that does not entitle Miss Nina to be so disgraceful towards me and call me a liar again and again. She should learn how to deal with her customers in such situations. read more

Why can't we give negative stars???? This is the absolute WORST company I have ever dealt with. I waited an hour and a half at the airport with a reservation and they never showed up. I had several conversations while waiting with the staff who were unbelievably rude and hostile despite the fact that i was the one stranded. Ultimately they told me they wouldn't charge me after I got took a cab from a different company (why this was even a question, I am not sure) but then they DID charge my credit card anyway!!! Unbelievably bad. It would be difficult to be this bad without sincerely working at it. read more

I recently went on a cruise with my girlfriends family and we booked State Shuttle to take us to the port in New York and then pick us up. The driver who picked us up was great. He was on time, personable, helpful, loaded and unloaded our luggage and more. The trip coming home was another story... The driver was late picking us up and when we got into the van it was very stuffy. The vents were blowing out warm air and when we told the driver he said it's because the van was sitting for 2 hours and it will kick in soon. He eventually turned off all air flow in the back. The people in the very back and were so uncomfortable and heated the entire time. We asked the driver again about the air and he said he put it on up front so it can flow to the back, which it did not. There was also a piece of tape covering up his check engine light!!! When we finally got home the driver stayed in his seat to do who knows what while my girlfriends brother unloaded our luggage! The driver was nice but the experience was just not enjoyable especially with the price we paid. My girlfriends mother spoke to a manager about it who told her that the cars are not supposed to run "extra hot or cold". Aside from that the manager could care less about the situation. After reading the other reviews I see these issues my family had are very common! I would never recommend this company due to their lack of customer service with both service and management. read more

I got to Jersey, Toms River, but did not know how I was getting back to the airport. I had used the shuttle quite a few years ago but I didn't know that they were still doing their trips. Well, I found out they were and called them. I was extremely pleased with the service, pick up on time at the Clarion in Toms River and it took about an hour and 20 minutes to Newark airport. The driver, from Tinton Fall, was a very nice gentleman, we talked about different things, he had to make a couple of stops but on to the airport in more then enough time for my flight. I was charged a reasonable price for a drive in the rain. I would certainly call this shuttle service again and now, when I am coming into Jersey I will call them for my ride to my local destination. Had to cancel due to travel changes. Called 6 days before reservation. No problem, they said. They told me it was cancelled, and gave me a confirmation number. Three weeks later, still no refund. Emailed three times. Still no refund. I am now in the process of having my credit card back charge them. What a pain. They are unethical and will not refund cancellation. I have used this company at least 7 times over the years for transportation to the airport. They are always on time and the service is not bad. They could use politer dispatchers and customer service agents who answer the phones. I have only ever had one bad experience with them and it was on a return trip home from the airport in the middle of January, the driver shows up in a shuttle van with 1 other passenger and a broken back side window, yes broken, not broken as it wont open but broken like smashed. Driver started to drive us home with this broken window but insisted that the heat was on and it was warm, yes in the drivers area were the vents are it must have been warm but us sitting in the back with the broken window and the wind blowing in the van in January we were freezing. I was not getting anywhere with the driver so I called the company from the van and explained the situation and they had the driver meet another driver with a van on route 15 in Jefferson and switched it out. He should have done this before even picking us up. That was the only issue I have ever had with this company. read more

We had booked two limousine services from Philly airport to Princeton. The somebody called from State Shuttle offering what Debbie (the person who called) said was a great deal putting us five in one ride, we thought it was a VAN but then downgrade us by sending a shuttle and not a VAN; a shuttle for an hours ended up being avery uncomfortable ride, on top of that overcharged us with $310 for this trip, a ride that should be $ 200 tops for the downgrade. All to make a few bucks out of a Client (like us) who has spent $ 2,000+ this year in business with these people. Then it has been a calvary getting a hold of somebody who could help, I have made close to 15 calls to get these people attention, the acoountant Janet, the General Manager Bill Bradley do not respond to your emails or calls, they simply do not care. The rip us off and they are unwilling to even take a phone call from you to address the issue. They charged my credit card and I want my money back but they do not care about the customer, it is all about making a few bucks. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, if a problem arises, you will never get your money back. read more

I don't usually take the time to rate companies good or bad, but unfortunately State Shuttle has acted so poorly that they left me no choice but to expend my time and effort to let others know to beware. I made a reservation on 11/26/2012 for travel that was scheduled to commence on 12/3 with a return trip scheduled on 12/14. I was charged for the entire round-trip at the time of booking which I was not expecting based on the information I read on their website (that is a skeptical way of doing business for starters). My trip was subsequently cancelled, the next day. I emailed with a cancellation on 11/27, just to make sure, I also called the office to make sure they received the cancellation. Cancelled per Katie, and she gave me cancellation numbers: 48426 4842. 2 weeks go by and my credit card has not been credited. I call multiple times and I am assured the cancellation was received and a credit will be issued. Finally on 12/13 after complaining to "Joe", he tells me to call back after 3PM when "Nina" their accounts payable clerk comes in. Spoke with "Nina" on 12/19, she assured me the credit was being processed. After a few days there was still, no credit so I left a voice mail for "Nina" explaining that I have no choice but to contact American Express for a dispute. Today is 1/2/13 and I STILL have not been credited. What kind of business is this?? Not even a return call with an explanation!! read more
