I recently visited State Street Market for the first time, and I was impressed by the huge selection. They truly have something for everyone, with countless curated items from a wide variety of vendors. The prices are reasonable, and it's easy to spend hours browsing because there's always something new to discover. They aren't kidding when they call it a flea market! The best part is that it's completely indoors, so you can enjoy the experience without worrying about the weather. Whether you're trying to escape the summer heat or avoid a chilly breeze, it's a comfortable place to shop year-round. This place is so cool! Not your typical thrift store. Many stalls with all different items from vendors. You can find anything you want here, old or new. Handmade items and antiques. Classy and nerdy. Wide scale of prices, everything is pretty clearly labeled. I could spent hours in here, I don't even think I saw everything and we spent a good amount of time. If I lived closer it would be dangerous because I'd be in here once a week. read more

History

Established in 2018.

Kaleighdoscope started as just 1 person who loved crystals. I was asked to participate in a "wellness" show by one of my college buddies and bought some inventory! After that 1st show, it was obvious that I needed help to expand my vision, so I recruited the 2 people that I knew would be interested and wouldn't run away screaming, my Mom and her sister, my Aunt Kay. I order the inventory, they scour anywhere and everywhere for holders, containers, anything they can find that we can use on the table at shows to highlight the crystals (which they LOVE to do BTW) and now, instead of being behind the scenes, I've recruited them to help at shows and in the shop when needed for special events - and they have the shirts to prove it! lol If you are looking for specific crystals for crystal healing or just adding to your pocket collection, you can probably find something here that will make your life a little more fantastic!

I have always liked "rocks", my entire life I've liked rocks. I even have a large round chunk of granite that has been to college, to Georgia and back again with me. I couldn't tell you where I found it, but 40ish years later it's on a shelf in my bedroom. After my Dad passed away in 2016 I found a vial of pyrite and mica that he found in the 70's when he was working road construction through the Adirondak's, and I've been hooked since then. 2 years later, Kaleighdoscope started! Now everyone can collect "pitty rocks" as my niece used to say. Our goal is to provide quality products that are ethically sourced.

I took my 1 year old baby girl to Pagoda to pierce her ears and the ladies were so sweet and nice…read more(of course we were going to purchase something from them.) The nightmare happened when my baby girl lost her earring and I went back to get a replacement earring for her, all that great customer service and smiles were gone from the ladies there. I asked about the insurance that was added to my original purchase, which of course only covers damage to the earrings not loss which is fine. I bought her earrings and had them repierce her ear. The lady who did it, pierced the wrong earring and I told her that was the wrong earring. She acted like nothing had happened and took the earring off making my baby's ear bleed at which she didn't even apologize and my baby was crying (of course!) at which she said "she's just upset that I turned her face" like it didn't hurt my baby and repierced with the correct earring. I was so upset I left and immediately called Pagoda's customer service to complain and I'm waiting for a response. If I don't get a full refund or partial at least, I will never go back again nor recommend it to anybody.

Salmon Run Mall

We stopped in at this mall in search of some tourist merch (specifically, a NY state keychain). We…read morealso detoured looking for a geocache hidden on the lot, and luckily we did find it. But on to the task at hand. When we first went in, we thought we'd be able to access the mall through the Hobby Hut, but it turns out that it is self-contained, so we headed back out, and went through the mall via the JC Penney. This store felt perfect after being out in the summer heat - nice and cool from the AC, but not at all clammy or stuffy. We proceeded into the mall corridors, where most of the stores seemed like one of businesses, although there were some chains like Hot Topic and Spencer's. Many of the units were vacant, and the big amusement attractions were closed. There were very few people, so it felt so quiet as to be a bit disquieting. We had begun our search at Hobby Hut, but weren't surprised not to find what we were after there. We then tried a couple of other shops, but in vain. Finally, a couple of staff from different stores mentioned a store in the mall they both referred to as "selling mugs" and might have what we were looking for. We finally reached said store (Katrick Customs), and were relieved that we were able to accomplish our mission there. We availed ourselves of the washrooms while we were there, and they were spacious and decently clean. The taps worked, the dispensers had soap, there were paper towel dispensers and air dryers that were all in working order. It's too bad the mall doesn't have as much to offer as it clearly did in days past. If I were a local, I'd likely only be going there to pick up specific items rather than browse for fun.
