Scheduled a time to get an estimate for replacement windows for my home. Daniel arrived on-time & appeared to be very professional but refused to give me an estimate unless my wife was available for a product presentation. My wife was not available due to another commitment that I had forgotten about. I asked if we could proceed with getting an estimate & the answer was no. Plus Daniel felt it would be best if I was going to get estimates from other companies that it would be best if I did that first & then call Statewide. Well, I had called Statewide for an estimate but they refused to give me an estimate when they arrived for their appointment. The first Statewide representative was helpful and thorough. An estimate for the work was presented to me, and I was told I would get a discounted price if I signed the contract at that time. When I said that I wanted to get two more bids, I was told the discount would not apply if I did not sign the contract at that time. Since I had not priced any other contractors, I did not know if this price was in line. I disliked the pressure of the contract being void if not signed . The cost for tub and surrounding wall demo, replacement of four floor tiles in front of the tub, replacement of tub, surrounding tile (I had the tile I wanted left over from work on the master bath to cut down on the cost), repaint, and replace tub/shower door was $8000 with the discount. Because this would be a turn key job and would not involve any coordination on my part, I agreed and signed the contract. Coordination of workmen was a problem at the beginning of the work because I am employed and not at home during the day, but that was solved with a lock box. The supervisor was not particularly helpful with any coordination at the beginning of the process, but after it was made clear to him that I expected timely communication and follow up , we had no more problems. The tile man did an excellent job installing the tiles. The wrong shower door was ordered and had to be replaced which slowed down project finish time. The work was completed in 8 days, not including the week end. After the job was finished, I questioned how the amount of work done could be $8000. I am pleased with the new tub and tile but do question if the price was a fair one and in line with the industry. At completion, I did not receive an invoice with an itemized list and cost of each item, or labor costs. I believe this is their business model which allows them to make up their own costs and pass them onto the customer. No invoice keeps the customer from questioning the costs. I would not recommend Statewide because of the hard sell at the first visit, lack of coordination of work and workmen, and no invoice at end of project. Jane M. read more

We recently bought a house and wanted to build a patio cover. Statewide Remodeling had a booth at a festival I was attending. After speaking to a representative, I signed up for an estimate the following Saturday to receive 25% off plus an additional $400 off. I informed the representative that we had not closed on the house yet, but should within that week. He said that wouldn't be a problem. We did close that week and planned on moving that weekend. When I received a call on Friday to confirm on the appointment, I told the representative that we were moving into the house that Saturday. We both agreed that it wouldn't be ideal to have an estimate done since they needed about 90 minutes, so we rescheduled for the following Saturday. The Friday before, I never received a confirmation call. I called them on Saturday morning only to be told that someone had scheduled it for next, next Sunday despite there being a note to schedule it for the 7th and NOT the 15th. We ended up scheduling it for the 14th. Today, we receive a call saying that the representative was running late, so we will be meeting at 1:30 instead of 1:00. Finally at 1:15, we get a call saying that the representative's car broke down and he won't be able to meet with us at all. At that point, we just cancelled. We already set aside time on two weekends for them! read more

After meeting with Statewide Remodeling in their showroom at Collin Creek mall we were excited about their potential services, the representative at the store was knowledgeable, polite, and professional. However once their salesperson came to our home to discuss our bathroom remodel we were extremely disappointed with his professionalism, lack of knowledge of the technicalities of shower remodeling, and his patronizing attitude. We simply asked if our home's water pressure would be an issue for installing shower jets, and instead of just stating "I am not sure. It's something I can ask about", he told us we needed to take it up with our city's water department. A simple google search shortly after informed me this was definitely not the case, and this was a question many people performing bathroom remodels ask. He also looked to argue with us at every point and tried to pressure to give a yes or no answer on the spot. We were shocked that he was trying to push us into signing at that point especially since his estimate was based on only being in the bathroom area less than 15 minutes, and not having full knowledge of what materials we would ultimately want. When we told him we would need some time to decide he told us "98% of my customers decide on the spot". We said I'm sorry we can't decide this second on something that costs more than some cars - his response was "I have bought a car on the spot before." Extremely disappointing experience. read more

I had Statewide Remodeling build a back porch for my home in Georgetown, Texas. The work was good, but their follow-up is pitiful. I get unsolicited phone calls from them at least twice a year inquiring about additional work, but the three times I have called to ask about warranty work all I get is crickets. They are very bad about call backs when they realize it's not to get additional or new business. I don't know why they advertise Lifetime Warranties when they don't really perform follow-up phone calls in a reasonable period of time. My complaint is the high pressure sales tactics that were used on me. I normally don't fall pray to these tactics however I was ready for the salesman (Ken) to get out of my house after a 2 1/2 consultation on a small partial bathroom remodel. The price was very high for what I had done I found out after I had already passed the three day point of no return. They will explain if you can make up your mind right that minute and they don't have to come back they will give you a $1000 right off the top. Well they can certainly afford to after the inflated prices they charge. The only reason I went with this company is because they are used by Home Depot, a name I certainly trust and have had quite a few pleasant experiences. I bought all my granite for my kitchen, my appliance, sinks, etc from Home Depot and they were awesome. Well back to Statewide. The salesmen Ken promised me things that just aren't realistic I found out after talking with the project manager and installer (who were both awesome by the way). I am so disgusted that I had to go thru such a miserable 2 1/2 hours with a salesmen that will promise you anything to get the job sold. I will never use this company again only because I can't handle that kind of sales pressure, that is not for me. They charged me almost double what some home renovation companies off of Angie's List or other reputable websites would charged but I wanted the backing and warranty of Home Depot because I know they stand behind their work. The longer I have thought about how I was treated at the initial visit the more angry I have become. I ended up spending over $11,000.00 for basically a new bathtub, and it's not the right tub I was promised at that, I am very unhappy with the tub but I just can't go thru this again with them. The job turned out nice and I wish I could use them again for the other work I wanted done in my house, quite a bit more work actually. They won't leave until they get you to signup for something, lesson learned, buyer beware! If you do go with this company you should play their game and hold out from making a decision immediately, if they can offer you the things they offer to pressure you to make a decision on the spot then they have knowingly overcharged you from the beginning. I prefer a more honest approach and offer a fair price and not the high pressure instant decision making progress. I plan on telling Home Depot about my experience in the hopes that this tactic stops, it will hurt Home Depot's name in the long run and I really like Home Depot and their services, just not this one so much! . read more

We signed up w/Statewide remodeling because we wanted a company that was well known and respected. Our first project was for siding on our home. We signed our contract and the eta was about four weeks out, to our amazement they called two weeks later and were ready to start. Job took less than a week and looked amazing. The crew was prompt, courteous and cleaned up their mess when they left each day. Couldn't be happier. Now to our next project...the kitchen remodel. Statewide had done a fantastic job on our siding why would we expect anything different, right?!? Let's just say a two week job lasted over two months. We basically had to hold the hands of the crews Statewide hired in order for our remodel to go smoothly. First they promised workers that have been with them for years, our crew just got hired from Tennessee. We were the first job for them. Cabinets were hung without pilot holes, wrong cabinet drawers were ordered, handles for cabinets were crooked and put in the wrong place. Granite was cracked, cut crooked and possibly even the wrong color. I get it ,it's a natural stone and there's no guarantee it will look like the sample...but c'mon it was a totally different color. Even after we drove to the showroom to verify what we were getting, they still did nothing. We've learned to love it, it's not horrible just not what I was expecting. Took the granite crew four tries to get our counter piece right and that's only because we had to tell them every single time it was wrong..it was cracked, cut too short, joint not touching other piece so they filled it with epoxy. There were many other areas of unprofessionalism that we encountered w/this company...but in the end the came back each and every time to fix the mistakes. We paid for professional quality and services we got half-assed work and two months of them coming out to fix items. I am not happy about the premium price that we had to pay for this company but I am happy that they are a well known company and do fix the mistakes. read more

We hired Statewide to do a complete bathroom remodel. Shortly after we signed the extensive paperwork, we learned that: (1) the tile they pitched and sold to us had been discontinued; (2) they did NOT have assigned work crews even though the sales guy said they did and that was a major selling point for us; and (3) they did NOT provide us with the breakout of pricing even though the sales guy said they'd "match" any price we found on anything such as fixtures. Additionally, throughout the entire project, we repeatedly requested a schedule so we could work around it and never got one. Even after I sent a written complaint to an executive, he never responded. On some days when a crew was scheduled to work, no one showed up, and sometimes, the crew was late. The people were nice enough and the actual work completed appears solid, but this company needs a lot of work on sales and project management. They'd also benefit from the use of CAD software so you can see what the remodel would look like. I also think in hindsight that their markup is extremely high. The salesman also told us we wouldn't have to pay the balance of the project until we were "completely satisfied," but the project manager asked for a check before all of the work was done. In short, a project that should've taken maybe 3 weeks took more than double that from the time we signed the paperwork to the completion of the punch list. read more

We did quite a bit of research among area contractors for windows replacement of our original, aluminum, 70's windows. We chose Statewide for their lifetime, non-prorated transferable warranty. We had great customer experience starting from the salesperson (Mike) all the way to final installation. The crew of 3 arrived exactly on time, worked efficiently to replace 10 windows, and were completely done and cleaned up by the end of the day, which is what they promised. We are quite pleased with the quality not only of the windows, but of the workmanship as well. The crew supervisor was approachable, professional and clearly knew what he was doing. The following day, a second crew dropped by as expected, to put the finishing touches on the faux wood that we ordered around the windows. After they left, I noticed a section that was not caulked properly. We called Statewide, and the issue was resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. I am quite pleased with our experience with Statewide windows replacement. read more

We had a major project of replacing 22 windows and creating a new 7' high door opening where two windows had been. The project including a twin stack of windows on the house front that went from ground level to over 20' high. Statewide's pricing was very competitive with three other bids (after a bit of friendly negotiation). We liked the Omega glass that Statewide uses which isn't as dark as the Cardinal glass the other installers used but is just as efficient, and the Omega glass had noise reduction properties that were much more expensive to add to the other bids. So we chose Statewide. We were extremely pleased with every aspect of the project. First, we appreciated that Statewide went outside their normal supply chain to find a tall sliding door that was beautiful and slides with one finger. It is amazing, with a large transom above it. Second, we appreciated the can-do attitude of their installers. Replacing that twin stack was a bear! They took the extra time and got it done. We appreciated the extra touches that the installers did for us without charge, such as building all new wood window sills for every window! The finished product was clean and looks fabulous. We found them at the state fair. Painfully expensive. End result left us feeling that we overspent on a small amount of work. Had them do floor and stand up shower in the master bath. We were not impressed with the quality. Make sure you have some extra money set aside for additional costs that they will find while working. They definitely talk up a big game when trying to get you to sign a contract. Next time...get a DIY book and save yourself a lot of money. Would not recommend this company. Customer service was good. This is the company that Home Depot uses so we expected it to be overpriced but not $22K FOR A LESS THAN 25 SQ FT SHOWER RETILE!!!!!! The guy said he is "not a salesman" but really put the pressure on, turned what could have been done in an hour into a 3-hour visit, wouldn't let us see a breakdown of what we were actually paying for, and would not leave when we said we were going to have to pass or at least get another quote. I don't doubt the quality but I can't imagine the quality being so much better than the competitors that it would cost $22K as opposed to the less than $5K for the retile like all the others quoted. read more

Salesman said he always checked with his customers after installation, never heard from him again......installers made a hole in the bedroom wall to put the reset for the walk in bathtub without our approval...We protested and finally he put it in the bathroom (where it belonged) but he showed his disgust and stated his dislike for our request and his feelings about it all. Then they had to send someone out to repair the hole in our bedroom wall (this gentleman did an excellent job.. without any complaints) The ladies in the office were very nice and answered our phone calls about our complaints, they even sent a gift card, which was nice, but it didn't fix what had happened.....the inspector said the installer had some personal problems and was just having a bad day......Wait!!!!! I have to pay the price for his bad day because of personal problems.....I think not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !LEAVE YOUR PERSONAL PROBLEMS AT HOME. If I had it to do over,, I would not do business with this company, I'm very unhappy with this company...not to mention the TUB AND THE PRICE. read more

The salesman wasted two hours of my time at my house and when I told him that I plan to replace the windows in three months he refused to give me a quote and said that I have to call him in two months to get a quote. I called the sales manager and left him voice mail but never returned my call. Very poor service. read more

The price was a little high (part of this is insurance for HD and comes with a good warranty) for our shower install, but we didn't have any scheduling issues and the guys were on time. They got the job done quickly and did a great job. read more

Just had a shower and countertop done in the master bath. Daniel was our construction man and tile setter. His ideas and tiling were awesome. He is the nicest guy and did a great job. Work took a little bit longer than planned but the job was bigger than it looked when we started and his attention to detail was worth the wait. Paul was involved in managing the project and stopped by several times. When our shower floor tile was not available the team came right over later in the evening at our convenience to help us pick something else. My only complaint is our granite counter does not sit flat and raises off the vanity about a half inch with no shim to make it line up with the seam we had to put in the middle due to length, this is on the right side just concerned it could crack, but the piece is beautiful and looks better than the sample. read more

I would not recommend Statewide to my enemy. I contracted with their slick salesman who conned me into signing on the sport, (bad move). For 30 day I waited and nothing from them. I called to add them to install a vanity and salesman told me it would cost over $500. or check someone else. I did and I was told they could do all bathroom for less then 2/3 of cost. Home depot was charging me over $7.5 hundred. I called salesman back to cancel job. He told me I would be charge $1,833. for cancellation fee. This was after not hearing from the after 30 days and no work done or materials delivered. I was ripped off. I called Citi bank who handles their finance and they also agreed this was not legal but could do nothing. Home Depot argued with their so called (team) and they refused to help me. I am a senior citizen and I have no recourse but to pay it or they would charge me interest fee on it. A very unethical company. read more

Had very high expectations, Window and Bathroom Remodel Reps were in my home over 5 + hours? They were nice, knowledgeable, but when it came to price.... all deals were "has to be done today" or pay another 10-20%. I had a good window reference and knew I would pay a little more and overall the Window experience was average. It should have been great for what I paid. They arrived late, broke one of the panes of glass. (I saw it was broken on their truck but they still installed it). Told us they would call the following Mon or Tue to schedule. They never called! I called them and they finally came out yesterday and replaced the broken glass. Since they left, we have found broken glass in our carpet, outside on our patio and in our yard along the trail they used to take out their trash. Spent two hours digging a shard of glass from my wife's foot. The price did not match the quotes of "Best in Service" or "we are not the cheapest for a reason". The Bathroom is another story. A $46K quote was first out of the box..... Was not in the cards so we settled for a complete redo of the bath tub/shower area. The sales rep and I walked back to the bathroom and agreed on what was going to happen after the change and I agreed on the price with this expectation. Low and behold after all of the coding on the paperwork where the rep described my bathroom, he failed to keep the removal of the fur down and I missed it on the paperwork. Well, after 5 hours... it was time for them to leave so I helped pack up the older gentlemen who sold us the windows and was able to get them both on their way. Just before they started the work I called my sales rep to verify the work and low and behold, a Manager named Paul called me to discuss. THE SALES REP HAS NEVER CALLED ME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Believe this! The most unprofessional conversation transpired where he blatantly threatened me with, "well how about I just keep your $5700 deposit as damages and we just call it even! He made sure I understood he had a IRON CLAD contract and I was HUNG! "Didn't you read the agreement, don't you read things before you sign them". I told Paul to kiss my rear end! Paul did a very good job and making sure I knew there was nothing I could do. So I emailed the owners. Frank, a very nice man, Co-Owner, he an Paul.... chalked it up to that we talked about many things and I just must have misunderstood when the rep took off items to get into our budget. I have been in sales for over 28 years..... They wanted another $1100-1500 to remove a 12" X 36" X 60" fur down above the tub. Simple cuts, adding some sheet rock, a couple of tiles and paint the ceiling..... I was told the job would take 8-9 days and the labor was why it was this expensive and oh yes, do not forget about their quality!!!! BS!! It took one man 28 hours and a Plummer 1.5 hours and they were done. After pricing out parts..... They charged me somewhere in the neighborhood of like an Attorney bills per hour for labor ...... did I say BS? I was misled, paperwork was very confusing especially after 5 hours of closing........ You do your homework and do not trust a referral. All they had to do was own up to the error and do that little bit of work that would have taken another 2-4 hours...... THEY DID NOT! read more

We had a bathroom remodeled for my impared sister. Worst job ever! it was suppose to take 10 days to complete the work took over a month and having to call corporate and complain. Mario left us hanging on multiple occasions when they were suppose to show up and work no one would call or show up! We paid $16,000 and in my opinion it still looks like crap! Drain does not match other fixtures. They put silicon caulk around the shower stall and paint won't adhere to it. They did not pit any trim up around the ceiling and shower. this price did not include any glass or painting and the ceiling still looks like crap because we have to paint it on our own. They were very messy and did not clean up. I never saw a permit one which were promised, the plumber had to clme out at least three time to repair his own work. They left a line leaking and would not even give us an emergency number when we called the main number and no one called until the next day. We finally just let them do their crappy work and we paid them to just get out. At this point the only way I would be happy is if we were refunded at least 40% so we could hire a professional to come in and check their work to make sure it is up to code! read more

We used Statewide twice, 1st experience, great. Second experience, horrible. Some of our issues, requested our original supervisor and that was written on contract & when project started (late) on the 1st day a different supervisor called and told us he would be by later in the day (never a call from Statewide to ask if this was ok or at least tell us of change), In demolition a specific part we wanted to keep for the bathroom was thrown away & they could not find a replacement, we found it on Amazon it 2 minutes which is where we told them to get it. One appointment, they never showed up (or called to cancel) I was almost in tears when I finally called them to see where they were and told "oh he is not coming today" because I had rearranged my day for the appointment. They offered us a gift certificate from Home Depot, told them we preferred American Express gift card when job was completed and they agreed (in writing). Home Depot gift card came in our mail. A project that was to take 2-3 days ended up taking 13 weeks before everything was complete and all contact was made by us, not them in this entire 13 weeks. I decided to go with remodeling my kitchen with this company based solely on the experiences I had replacing all my windows with Andersen storm windows over the course of four years. I was told the job would be done in two to three weeks and as a teacher, I went in early June expecting all to be done before I returned to school in August. They were late on starting the job (in late August) and they did not complete the job until 2 1/2 months later because the sub contractors that they hired for the job did not communicate with each other. Because the electrician did not make it one Friday, (I was told he was supposed to get the permit but didn't because he did not have money for the city permit) the job was delayed for over two weeks. Then the floor tile was not installed properly (one of the sub contractors did not use the correct adhesive, but instead the adhesive for putting bathroom wall tile, causing the tile to float and move and sound hollow every time I stepped on the tile). One of the cabinets was not measured correctly and when they corrected it by cutting off inches from the cabinet, I was left with four drawers that could not hold my cutlery (they were so short that I could no longer fit the cutlery carrier in the drawers). Lots of errors on the cabinets not being measured correctly, calls made to the general contractor went unanswered requiring me to call the business owners who then assigned another man to the project. Still communication was an issue. Very disappointing, I will never recommend these people for anything. One of my colleagues at school told me that she also had lots of problems when statewide came in to do her bathroom (she actually went to the Home Depot and then statewide came in to do the bathroom). They need to hire people who know what they are doing and contractors who can plan and keep people on a reasonable timeline. My floor tiles are still a problem but I am fearful of calling them back to "fix the problem" for fear that the problem will get worse. read more

The most important thing that people need to know about Statewide Remodeling is you are only paying for someone to order the material and supervise the same "Chuck with a truck" you could hire yourself at Home Depot. The workers are not employees of SR, they are contractors. They aren't background checked, drug tested. legal status checked or even skill tested before they come into your home. You are lucky if the site supervisor stops by once a day. The tile guy that worked on my job cheated me on a side job and his helper was very belligerent and both were illegal. They also don't do a survey at the end of the job to see if you are satisfied which is essential to a modern business. The have great marketing, a great sales team and great material purchasing group. Shame the rest of the process (the most important) isn't nearly as good. I was pressured by my site supervisor to sign a completion acceptance before the job was complete so it would count on the year that was ending. Overall, did I get a new bathroom? Yes. Would I use SR again? No. I'll just hire the guys at Home Depot myself and save a boatload of money. As far as I can tell, the risk is the same. read more
