Office staff is very nice but Doctor Nidal Boutros was rude to me we were supposed to be discussing my hospital follow-up we had no eye contact he was looking a my file talking about my medication than he said you have RSV that a serious thing did you have pneumonia I said they didn't tell me that is that what they said in my records he never responded I said I want to show you a thing I have so I show him he tell. Me I'm big that's why it's there he called me fat and asked me did I consider the weight loss surgery now why we discussing that on a hospital follow-up I was trying to become a patient of his he trying to take me off some medicine that I need he said I was getting smart with him and I was not he asking me questions I am answering him. We never discussed my hospital follow-up he gone ask me did I have any questions I said I want to know how my lungs are doing today. Than and only than he listened to my lungs if I had not said that he would have not listened to my lungs. I was very upset dealing with what he did at this appointment . read more

Nurses never call back. The front staff in dr botroses office are rude. He is rude and will drop you as a patient via the mail with no reasoning. I can only talk to this office via the voicemail box. The call center line staff just says "sorry we cant get ahold of them." This is incredibly frustrating. read more

The desk staff is friendly and more than helpful. However, some of the aides are slightly rude, and scolded me for not remembering some things that were in the instructions packet that patients receive before surgery. Admittedly, I forgot that I was instructed not to drink anything the morning of the surgery. The male anesthesiologist was very rude during surgery on one of my eyes. The surgeon was not comforting through my first surgery . She did not perform the second surgery. The lead female surgeon was the last who saw me. She was friendly, rational and was caring..After cataracts had been removed from both eyes, my eyesight was as it had been before surgery. The doctor examined my eyes and found that a "film" had developed over one eye. I was scheduled to have surgery to remove the film, but I later cancelled it. Also, I paid a good portion of my bill, but received a message last week that I haven't paid any of the bill, placing me in delinquency. In actuality, I owe only $75.00, which will be paid this month. read more

Dr. Sokol, aside from a couple of his personality quirks, is the best doctor I have seen so far regarding my unresolved condition. The man has a memory like an elephant and can tell you verbatim what was said/done at the last appointment. He is willing to push for labs that aren't customary, and has a sub-speciality in pharmacology so he is a whiz with setting you up on the right meds. read more

When I entered the LAB at Statland Medical Center at 2:45pm on Tues 7/16/24, the waiting room was empty, no one was at the front counter. I signed in & sat down. A few minutes later a tall blonde appeared behind the counter and said "Are you with her or are you here for another reason?" I was immediately taken aback and said "her who? I'm here for labs for myself". I quickly understood why she had spoken to me that way since it's typical behavior for ignorant bigots. As I always do, I took the high road and only briefly thought about leaping across the desktop. She then sat down, started looking in the computer, seemed confused and started asking me obvious questions. I offered her the lab orders from my doctor and sat back down, which apparently cleared her fog. I said "O there must be another black woman back there", giving her a chance to settle the rocks in her head & realize how rude, insulting & dismissive her interaction had been with me. (I guarantee she wouldn't have spoken to a white person that way). She laughed nonchalantly, stood up and said, "Ok come on back". I was stunned & anxious when I realized she was the one that would be drawing my blood. Since she didn't have the intelligence to greet or interact with her patient (me) correctly, I was very concerned for my well-being and wondered if she could complete the blood draw successfully. The one star in my review is because I survived it. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK & TREAT ALL OF YOUR PATIENTS WITH THE SAME RESPECT & DIGNITY!!! It's really not that hard. read more

THIS REVIEW IS NOT ABOUT DR. MICHAEL SOKOL. HE IS WONDERFUL. THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT STATLAND MEDICAL GROUP. I had an appointment today at 2pm with Dr. Sokol. I called Statland Medical Group at 11:30am today to confirm I could come in for the appointment since I have breathing issues and have a medical exemption from wearing a mask. I was told by the woman who answered the phone it was fine and to come in. I arrived, waited to check in, and was immediately accosted (rudely) by the dark haired woman (long hair) at the front desk who told me to put a mask on. I explained I have a medical exemption. She went and got Dr. Sokol's nurse Danielle who also was not very nice, who told me to put on a mask. I pointed out that they have a sign NEXT TO THE FRONT DESK which says you don't have to wear one if you have a medical issue that prevents you from doing so. They did not care and told me to step outside. Danielle then brought out some other tall, grey-haired woman doctor (??...maybe Snavely???) who asked me to follow her down the hall. She was nice in front of all the people waiting to be checked in. As soon as we were away from people she became nasty. Told me to put a mask on or leave, and if I refused she would call the police. I explained I have a medical exemption and asked WHY was I told I COULD come in without a mask by the person I spoke with today, and also asked her WHY there was a sign hanging next to the front desk that also said medical exemptions were allowed. She rudely replied she didn't have time to talk with me about this and I'd better leave immediately or she would call the police. I left. I very very much respect and like Dr. Sokol, but the staff at Statland are among the worst I've ever seen. I wouldn't have minded IF they had told me this morning (before I drove 45 min. to get to the appointment) that I couldn't come without a mask, and IF the witch (Snavely???) had been pleasant. She could have handled this much differently. She owes me an apology. I advise anyone who has a medical exemption regarding masks to stay away from this place. I wish Dr. Sokol would practice medicine somewhere other than Statland. What a freaking joke. I will say that Dr. Sokol called my cell as I was driving away and apologized. He was unaware of the policy change that apparently some stinking administrator made regarding a non-medical-exemption mask policy. So...be aware...Statland will violate your rights (think DISABILITY rights) when it comes to face masks. read more

I would not recommend Dr Sokol to anyone. He was rude and unprofessional. I went for my yearly check up to get the prescription I needed only to leave empty-handed with a lecture on how fat I was and the year before when I went I was told I had a crooked haircut. I'm done. I've tried for a week to get a hold of his office no one will call me back my pharmacist has tried and they can't get anybody to call them back either. read more

I've had many symptoms for many years and seen many doctors, including four different endocrinologist, but none of them would truly listen to me. They would run a few blood tests to appease me, but brush over my symptoms and I always left unsatisfied and frustrated. Not anymore!! I'm so happy to have found Dr. Sokol!! He spent over an hour and a half going over my symptoms, asking me lot's of questions diving deep into my medical history - I literally felt like he was a detective trying to get to the bottom of a mystery. By the time the appointment was over, he had ordered a multitude of tests I'd never had ordered before and a referral to another specialist to address an issue he felt important to address but wasn't in his field. All in all, this is the first time in more than 11 years that I've had a doctor truly listen to me and be willing to help me find answers. I'm very happy with Dr. Sokol and highly recommend him to anyone in need of an endocrinologist!! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Snavely since I moved here 30 years ago and I absolutely love her! She feels like a friend who cares about my personal well being. About 12 years ago I had to have serious neck surgery and she told me "we are not going to find a doctor to do this surgery we are going to find THE doctor to do this surgery" and we did! She has also been very influential in keeping my weight in check, which isn't easy when you work in Hospitality Industry! Highly recommend her. read more

Dr Sokol is who I have been seeing for diabetes management for about 8 years. This guy is awesome. He is an example of truly having the patients best interest in mind. You can tell he is passionate about his work, because he remembers details about our last conversation, even though they are always 3 months apart at the very least... details that I know for a fact he doesn't even write down! I don't know what exactly an endocrinologist deals with besides diabetes, but if you have something that is in this category, I would strongly recommend him! read more

Dr. Snavely, I keep hoping that I'm not dreaming, and that this wasn't a fluke. Dr. Snavely is what I would call a "real" doctor. Compassionate, knowledgeable, caring, and just a total breath of fresh air. On my first visit to her office, Dr. Snavely goes beyond what is required of a physician. Dr. Snavely made me feel like a human, and that she actually cared about my well-being. This is an anomaly for me since I've moved here. I literally feel safe in her care. I wish I could have found her years ago. What a wonderful experience. Yes, I'm talking about a doctor's visit!! If I could give Dr. Snavely more stars, I would. What a blessing she is to me. I have been a patient of the Statland Medical Group since the mid to late 1990's. My doctor was Kiran Minocha. I thought she was terrific! She saved my life a couple times when I caught A-typical Pneumonia in Pakistan and later screened me for prostate cancer. To say I was saddened by her far too early death (not so much for me but all those she could have helped) is an understatement. She was a very kind and caring person as well as an exceptional doctor in my opinion. I just had my first appointment with Dr. Goldberg and his nurse Debby. The staff is very rude. They need a class in customer service. I have been hung up on. My messages have gone unanswered.

I was referred to Dr. Sokol by my gp for my thyroid/adrenals. My first visit was extremely off-putting as Dr. Sokol sat at a table and spoke into and typed into his dictaphone about me like I was a specimen rather than a person. Right away Dr. Sokol suggested bariatric surgery, which shocked me. We hadn't even done labs or anything yet and I couldn't believe a doctor, let alone a specialist, would recommend such evasive surgery up front. I left feeling shamed and invisible. I told myself I would give him one more try as maybe he was having an off day, and the second appointment was even worse. He dismissed my concerns and proceeded to tell me that, "nobody ever gained weight in a concentration camp" when I said I was struggling with weight loss due to thyroid issues. What kind of professional says that?! Extremely offensive, disrespectful, and in poor taste. I have never encountered such a smug, arrogant doctor with such a horrible bedside manner. I feel for any woman who is referred to him. On a plus note, his staff was polite and lovely. They probably feel bad for his patients. Oh, it might be mentioned, not that a narcissist like Sokol would ever realize he has issues, but turns out I had SIBO and Hashimoto's and under proper medical care and treatment have been able to drop 65 lbs in four months. read more
