Poor experience with their FIRC…read more Due to a mistake by American flyers, I haven't gotten my new CFI license after finishing their FICR course and paying for the hasse free experience for over 4 months now. When contacting the customer service, I consistently received only minimal, one-word responses. These replies often contradicted previous information and failed to offer any helpful resolution. This forced me to send numerous emails and place repeated phone calls, prolonging the matter unnecessarily. Several times they told me to contact the FAA, and each time the FAA told me that the issue is that American flyers hadn't submitted all requirements documents. I didn't receive any help until writing this review and filling a BBB complaint. And even then, they were still blaming me and trying to make me feel bad about contacting the customer support too often?!? Based one experience and the numerous complaints from other customer, I wouldn't recommend to purchase any services from this business.

The Perfect Way to See Dallas from 1,500 Feet Low & Slow…read more My Friends and I wanted to do something different, so we thought getting in a Cessna and seeing Dallas at night would be cool. AND IT WAS! The three of us travel a lot for our jobs and fly in and out of DFW so this would be a bit different perspective. We arrived at Addison Airport and were greeted by our pilot Alex. Alex did a great job showing us the preflight and all that goes into getting a Cessna ready. Alex did a great job showing us around the aircraft during the pre-flight and explaining why an airplane is not like a car and you cannot just turn the key. I sat in the back, because I fly Cessna's I wanted to let my friend who had never been in a small plane sit at the controls. I am going to go off on a tangent here; the rich got it made with the whole flying private! Okay back to my review! We were buckled in and started taxing around 8pm. So it was going to be a night flight for sure. Right after take-off, we were flying over Dallas Love Airport. It was cool to see a Southwest 737 landing right under you. We flew over to Jerry World and Rangers Park; it was a perfect day to fly! Visibility was great. As we were flying over to Arlington we could see all the aircraft flying into and out of DFW. We then turned towards downtown Dallas. To see the skyline up close and all light up is amazing! My photos do not do the actual experience justice. As we worked our way back to Addison we flew over The Star in Frisco and Plano. So think about this real quick the next time you are stuck in DFW traffic; we flew from Addison to Arlington and back with time to do some circles around Frisco in under an hour. Try that that in your car! After we touched down we thanked our pilot for a great tour. We went home and reviewed our photos from a great time! So here is why I would recommend Starlight Tours. 1. If you have never flown in a small Cessna before this would be a great reason for you to. 2. Perfect way to show DFW to family and get some cool points. 3. If it is just amazing to see DFW from the air. 4. Try to do your flight on a clear day during sunset. I'm sure that would be amazing! Our night flight was cool, but sunset would be awesome! So there you go! Because I am a pilot, I will end by saying if you have a kid that is interested in flying. This would be a perfect way to show them what flying is all about.

But, if you are like me and trying to have a career in aviation do not make the mistake of trying to get it done quick for cheap! You do NOT get sufficient training in order to fly safely by yourself. I was scared shitless the entire time because I was basically learning almost everything IN the airplane. Sounds great but it's the opposite. You should always get ground school done FIRST and then go in the airplane and demonstrate what you've learned. Do yourself a favor and avoid this sketchy place and spend the extra money to get your License and do it the right way. They are not professional about anything. They do a couple minutes of ground school if they feel like it. The owner is never there. There is rarely people at the front desk to answer questions and whatnot. Nobody acts like they give a shit about your actual training there, just taking your money and building their own hours. Since I have to give it at least a star I'll give it that I guess. NOT WORTH IT, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. THE BARE MINIMUM of everything.

They cheated me out of $75.00 by going back and charging more for the hourly rate of the aircraft I had rented in the past!
