Where to begin... First, let me take you to the check-in process where a less than friendly associate "greeted us." That's right, I put it in quotations because I didn't really call her half-hearted way of welcoming us to be an actual greeting. A line immediately started forming behind us. Is it standard to only have 1 semi-awake staff working the check-in counter at Staybridge Suites? She did not tell us where the elevators were located causing us to walk the opposite direction of the elevators (of course!) and backtrack all the way to the other side with our heavy luggage. How have this place gotten such good reviews especially citing their wonderful staff and friendly service? This, I have yet to see. As a general observation, the place could also use some sort of a renovation. They've worked on the decor to spruce things up but it does look a bit worn down in parts and could benefit from an actual renovation in my opinion. Now, on the way up to the room we had to wait for a very slow moving elevator since the other one is out of order. I really do mean slow... As in it took a good few minutes to get down to the first floor (only 4 floors). Also, the hallway by the elevator is so little that it gets easily crowded whenever someone with a cleaning cart or a lot of luggage is in there waiting for the one single and not to mention, spatially-challenged elevator. The other elevator had been off and on in broken state during our entire stay leaving only the slowest one available for use. The room, however, is nice and clean though the carpets look older. The suite lives up to the terminology in a compressed kind of way but of course, you can get one bigger. There is a small kitchenette with sets of dishes and some cookware, a full-size refrigerator, a stove top, a microwave, and a small dishwasher. This would be perfect if you are traveling with children and don't want to pay excessive amounts of money to take them out to eat for every meal. There is a flatscreen TV that is about 32 inches which swivels toward the direction of the livingroom area or the bed, depending on your location. However, it doesn't fully face neither direction so you have to be at the right angle to watch it straight or you'll be watching at an angle (or try to move the console but remember to move it back before you go to sleep or else it will be an accident bound to happen in the dark!) The room we have overlooks the pool which is great. We can check the pool status before actually heading in for a swim in case it's packed with children. I don't know how we got so lucky but this is one of the few cool things about our room. We tried the pool out and it's actually quite great. You have to use your room key to get into the pool area itself. They have a small towel shed, a place for your used towels, and some lounge chairs to sunbathe in when you're not in the pool. They have so many seating available by the pool area and around it. There's a fireplace, a covered barbeque area and some patio furniture underneath the shades of the trees. It's a very relaxing setting. Breakfast was pretty good overall. It's a buffet style with breakfast options such as fresh fruits, pastries (muffins, donuts, danishes), yogurt, tea (regular and flavored), juice and coffee bars, waffle, bagels and different bread varieties if you want some toasts, biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, and some additional breakfast accompaniments such as cheese, salsa, cottage cheese, and tomato slices! I loved the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was very flavorful and the biscuits were flaky. I wish they'd have these everyday! Their main breakfast items are sometimes a miss though such as the day we had scrambled eggs that had some hard, dry pieces served with some thinly sliced ham which were flavorless and rubbery. Then other redeeming so-so days with pancakes, egg whites and some paperthin bacon. The best thing about their breakfasts, is the fact that it's free and they do put out a good spread. The hotel also offers a social at the dining room from Monday to Wednesday, 5:30-7:30 offering free wine, beer, and some munches. Wings, crudites, mini pulled pork, cole slaw, hot dogs, potato salad just to name a few. We didn't really get to attend any except on Tuesday when we were coming back from dinner and I grabbed a glass of wine. They had Beringer 2 different kinds of whites and a merlot and cabernet. They had 2 types of beer and it's all in a self-serve basis. Despite all the not so pleasant events during the first day, our stay here was all right. The hallway noise are very audible and there were a lot of children running around after 9pm which was highly irritating but remember, if you keep the fan on it lessens the noise level! read more

We unexpectedly stayed here 2 nights ago - we had a massive flood in the house and the plumber had to shut off the water. The insurance company was footing the hotel bill so we had to find a "good" hotel but not an expensive one. We also didn't know if we'd be out of the house for days/weeks/months so we wanted to be local to the house and work. We have dogs and cats - when I asked a friend for a recommendation she immediately suggested Staybridge. We initially didn't set the reservation to include the animals because we didn't yet know the extent of our stay. (They charge $50 then $10 a day for a limit of $150 but I don't know if it's per pet or per room. I didn't ask because I wasn't up to booking them.) This is an extended stay hotel, the longer you stay the less you pay per night. The price tiers are every 7 days. I booked for 15 days but wound up only staying one night so they adjusted my price per night. It still was a good deal. The hotel is inset from Pine Island Road - you drive towards the building and to the entrance on the left. The hotel exterior is painted nicely - it has a clean, modern feel. The front desk is right on the other side of the glass doors - that lock at 11 p.m. and require a hotel key or using the phone by the door for entry. The dining/bar area looked clean and nicely designed as we walked to the elevators. The room signs are bizarre - the hallway starts with room 221 and ends with room 201. The sign reads 221-201. Ok. But on the same sign, there's another row of rooms listed - with the numbers going UP - rooms 222 to 249. They should use separate signs. We walked down another hallway and found they have closets for guest use! The hallway looked great - although, honestly, because of the narrowness of the closet area, I was waiting for the twin girls to appear...a la The Shining. Our room was more of the same - clean and really nicely decorated in blues and browns. We stayed in a Queen Studio Suite - a kitchen with full fridge, 2 burner stove, etc., living room area in the same room as the bedroom furniture, a bathroom sink/prep area and a bathroom with a roomy shower and adjustable shower head. Our thermostat needed a new battery. When we called to ask for batteries, the front desk person couldn't understand that thermostats used batteries. Tom removed the thermostat from the wall and brought it to the front desk! She told him she'd have someone bring us batteries. When that never happened, Tom went back downstairs to the desk and she rifled through tv remotes until she found batteries. I know that batteries in thermostats can last for years but you're a hotel. You need to assume they may be old and not last as long as they should, someone might steal the batteries, etc. They do everything else right and then jerry-rig it when a guest needs something as simple as 2 batteries. In the morning, we checked out the complimentary breakfast buffet. It's plastic wrap wrapped small apples, oranges, under-ripe bananas, waffle/pancake batter/makers, oatmeal station, coffee area, table of scrambled and omelette style eggs and bacon in catering trays and a baked goods display. We walked through before leaving to eat at a bagel place - where we had scrambled eggs, grits and toasted bagels with coffee. We didn't leave to have a decadent or even different breakfast - the buffet just looked meh. While it was packed with guests it didn't look appetizing to us. More for them! We didn't do it, but they have socials/happy hours Tuesday thru Thursday, where for 2 hours you have a free meal and wine. This week it was a baked potato bar, grilled burgers and I think brats. Hey, it's free if you want it. Overall, the hotel and it's staff were so warm and inviting that we told the front desk guy we'll recommend them to our out of state friends who'll be visiting. We know they'll enjoy the location - and proximity to good restaurants like J Alexanders, where we had our dinner after checking in. About the flood - thankfully it's NOT a leak in the slab under my house but rather a leak to the freezer's water line. So we get to live at home - with 3 rooms of missing floors and air blowers everywhere...maybe we should just drive over to Staybridge... read more

Staybridge Suties is a great place for extended stay or traveling with familes when you visiting Fort Lauderdale area. We arrived around 7:30 pm after a long day of shopping to be greeted by the friendly staff at the front desk. She was really nice and helpful and explain to us all the facilities the hotel offer. Our one bedroom suites is spacious. With full kitchen applicances: stoves, full size dishwashers and fridges, microwaves and cooking utenils (not that I will start to cook when I am on vacations) There are tons of storage spaces with 2 TVs and a seperate sitting area. Free use of washing facilities, free WIFI, free full breakfast buffet! The breakfast area has a self help waffles makers.. My pancakes was so tasty, crisp on the outside, nice and tender inside! Though the place is a little old and need some restoration but it is clean and comfortable. I would definitely will be back to stay at Staybridge when I am in the area again! BTW, if you using WIFI, the signals are not as strong on the end units.. I will advise you to request a room closer to the lobby or you can go to the front desk and ask for a cable. read more

Horrible customer service! We asked for a late checkout and was approved for our stay. Housekeeping knocked on the door at 9:00 am to clean and we notified them we had a late check out. Then another housekeeper walked in the room at 11:00 without even knocking. They didn't update our keys for each of the days we stayed so we had to go back down each day for them to program them again. We asked for another day extension and were told there were no rooms, but we called from another number they magically had rooms available. The front desk was extremely rude!! read more

This is basically a mini apartment. I got an almost full size fridge, microwave, cook top, plates, glasses, metal silverware, and a dish washer! This place is laid out like many other candlewood suites (owned by same people holiday inn group). Its prefect for a couple days and with family probably. The property looks very well keep and the room's furniture was very comfy. The location is hard to see when you approach from south, signs in dark colors mixed with medium colors don't show really well three feet off the ground! I was a late arrival so this may taint the service part. But remember this is pretty far south, and the pace is really, really, really, really slow. The one person working the counter took about fifteen minute per customer to check in parties. Some off this was the idea of talking to you and starting with someone else at same time. Both people don't know who she was talking to. Oh yeah, the information from Hotels.com was either wrong or I moved from Ohio to Bellvue, WA during my flight here. Oh yeah the credit card info was wrong too. The explanation is it happens all the time. Never had a problem any other time. The room was clean and comfy. All in all worth the $100 per night price. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would!! First off, this is one of the only hotels in its area that provides full studio, one and two-bedroom suites. EACH room came with a full kitchen, which absolutely blew my mind! My husband and I booked a block of rooms for our out-of-town guests to stay here for our wedding. We ended up booking over the allotted amount of rooms and, because we brought the hotel so much business, the General and Sales Managers decided that they would accommodate our guests by discounting each room 10%. Not only that, but my husband and I reserved a two-bedroom suite (so that my bridesmaids and I could get ready there the day of the wedding), and the Sales Manager discounted our room to the price of a studio room, for bringing them so much business. If there were any complaints made by my guests, they were handled almost immediately. The staff members are incredibly friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. read more

Honestly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed it. It felt more like a studio apartment than a hotel! The room was very clean and stocked with actual eating utensils to use (no plastics). Also, it came with a little electric cook-top stove! The breakfast is very good however I wish they did have a bit more extended hours. I recommend this place for anyone traveling as a family. Stayed for just one night but the entire experience was a very good one. Very pleasant and easy check-in. Rooms were very clean and offered a large space since they are suites. Bed was very comfortable and plush. Shower had great pressure and they offered higher-end amenities. WiFi was very good with no issues. Breakfast in the morning was very good with a nice selection of hot food items. The dining area was spacious and offered a variety of seating options such as large tables for families as well as high-tops with electric for those wanting to get some work done on their laptop. If I were charging $2 for ONE cold pill, I'd be a little quicker to take that $2. While I was waiting to hand over $$, but before I gave up waiting, I got to listen to one woman who had tried to check in earlier, but no one was staffing the front desk fight with a woman who had specifically reserved a 2 bedroom suite but was given a "take it or leave it" with a one bedroom suite. Hello? Isn't the point of reservations to give people what they want? Also, many of the guests are quite elderly. It might be nice for them if there were a hot tub/spa in addition to the pool. I came back from a night of gambling to find my door open and my room robbed. I contacted the police and management. They have been investigating it for 3 weeks now, I've left a message every day asking for the manager to call me with updates. Not a single call back to me since the incident. Unreal experience. Do not stay here Its dirty and dangerous. --UPDATE: they have no cameras that covered my door. They tried the lock interrogation twice and got no information. Housekeeping swears they didn't take my stuff, they also swore they didn't leave the door open with the deadbolt so the door would not close. This is common practice for guests checking out. I still had 1 week left on the trip. Nobody wants to take accountability. This facility is very unsecure and management violated the highest inkeeper code. read more

Absolutely the best place we stayed! Even blew our hotel in South Beach out of the water! Pros: We booked a room with 2 queens, got there and they didn't have anymore of those rooms, so the girl said, "We do have this room though! You'll like it!" We got up there and it was a 2 bedroom (3 beds, 1 king and 2 queens) 2 bathroom suite! Full kitchen and livingroom. It was like an apartment! I would live there if i could! Lol 2. It was an older crowd there, so you didn't have to worry about anyone being noisy. It was very peaceful. 3. The beds were comfortable. 4. Amazing staff!! Cons: 1. The eggs were nasty. They were hard cubes. Gross. Fake tasting. 2. The toilets weren't the easiest to flush. 3. They need a bigger sign out front. Hard to find. read more

I had a funeral to attend this weekend and staybridge was the hotel of choice for our stay. It was truly a pleasure staying here. It was very local! Right next to the airport (about a 10-15 minute drive). Theres also an IHOP near by if you're craving breakfast. All in all I have nothing but good things to say about staybridge suites. read more

I found this hotel by chance on a name your price on Priceline. It was a very lucky hit! That was 7 years ago and I have stayed here every year since before and after my yearly cruise. It is one of the best places I have ever experienced!! The front desk staff are wonderful and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk into the door. The place is kept spotlessly clean. There is always a cold beverage in a dispenser in the lobby and hot coffee and water for tea in the buffet area. Breakfast every morning is a wonderful buffet of hot and cold foods, fresh fruit and breads. Monday through Thursday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm they hold a social with a varying buffet that is more than a good dinner. They offer free wine and beer as well as soft drinks, coffee, tea and juices. What more could you ask for? Well, there is more! The grounds are beautiful. There's a gas grill you can use. There's a fire pit. The pool is heated and just what you need to relax! Needless to say, I'll be back next year!! read more

I was a little skeptical reading some negative reviews, but I'm 110% happy that I choose to stay at Staybridge. We arrived early due to a conference and I was traveling with my kids and dog. Upon us arriving early I went into the lobby and was greeted by a beautiful smiling face. I explained my situation and the woman at the front desk was compassionate and went above and beyond to help accommodate my family. She explained they were full the night before but as soon as someone checks out she will have house keeping take care of the room. She gave access keys to the property so the kids could use the pool, bathrooms etc... While they waited a few hours, it wasn't terrible. Our dog was able to walk around leashed with them and everyone, I mean every single person at Staybridge was extremely friendly ! Once we were assigned a room, much to my surprise we got upgraded which was amazing !!!! I didn't ask, I didn't complain about a thing or even tell her one of my kids was just diagnosed with Epilepsy and I'm stressed to the max. They did this on their own. I'm so greatful! The room was clean, well stocked with dishes, soap, tea, coffee to get you started for your stay. The beds were amazing, so comforable ! The property is beautiful and well maintained. I used the bbq for burgers for the kids and Publix is a 3 min walk away. I had to do a load of laundry, I couldn't believe that it was free to use !!! They have a small pantry which I purchased a box of laundry soap for a very fair price of 1$ which was plenty enough for one load. The morning breakfast was great, they have everything, even for picky people. I can't say enough about Staybridge and the staff. I absolutely loved the 2 bedroom suite for my friends and I, which included a living room and kitchen. The staff was nice and my view of the pool was a definite plus. I am somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, right now its 4 and we will see what happens to the requests I asked for. This hotel is for travelers and vacationers planning on staying at least a week or so because they offer 1/1 bath and 2 bedroom/2 bath suites that include full kitchen (2 burner stove-top, no oven) with full fridge with ice-maker(ours doesn't work, request#1) micro,all dishes,plates,dishwasher,toaster and coffee pot. It has decent size sitting area with a couch,chair, a dining table with four chairs. each bedroom has dresser, tv, night stands and full bath. There is a beautiful courtyard with a firepit sitting area, bbq grills the guests can use and a nice pool area. the breakfast bar is very good with hot items along with waffle maker and there are plenty of tables to sit both inside and out. I have found everything clean in our rooms, but here is why im wavering between stars. You would think a hotel this nice would have a concierge or a information desk. The pool area was littered with trash from day before, there were not any clean towels and the pool desperately needed cleaning. Some one had a party by the fire pit and left all their bottles scattered and it is now 9:30 and its still there(pool opens at 8am) There is no shuttle van on weekends and they request a 24 hour notice to drive you somewhere? and only within 5 miles? There is not any maintenance people here on weekends to fix my icemaker. So if these problem are not addressed, im dropping stars to 3. They responded quickly to the issues I had and I'm keeping it 4 stars read more

I am normally a hotel snob. Had to find a decent prices hotel for long stay while I am relocating. Super nice actually. Dinner provided m-w. Hot breakfast and free drinks at night. Clean rooms 100 percent and service really Amazing. I would definitely recommend. Ps publix right across the parking lot so I shop there and grill outside. They have three covered grills and a place to eat outside. read more

I've come here more than once and each time I've had an amazing time. The staff is always great. Very friendly. From check in to check out. No hassle. The rooms are a great size. I was in a one bedroom suite that had a queen size bed, Full kitchen, A sitting area with a couch, desk and small table. In the kitchen there's a dishwasher full-size fridge, microwave, stove top and they also supply you with utensils, cups, plates and bowls. There is nice size hd TV with good amount of channels. Did have an issue with the DVD player that was in the room but ended up just using my laptop (not a deal breaker, didn't even remember the issue when I checked to let the staff know). Bathroom is a good size to move around in. Hot water isn't too hot though. Hotel offers free breakfast. Breakfast area was clean and well stocked. Will continue to stay here when I'm looking for a little gateway. read more

We stayed here for a few night while we were down to see the Rangers play the Panthers. I'm an IHG card holder and the previous stays at this chain have been good. The hotel is a little tough to find and you can drive by it very easily. Check in was no problem, they have no bell hop service, so you're on your own. We stayed in the suite which was nice and clean and considering it was New Year's Eve and there were about 70 teenagers that were there for a swimming meet it was very quiet. No problems with any water or any other little thing that might nag you. The breakfast was nice they had everything from eggs, pancakes, waffles to oatmeal, cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, 4 different kinds of juices . Staff and management were pleasant. Close to everything, there's a Publix and an Anthony's Coal Pizza right across the street. Overall a nice stay and would come back. read more

Stayed here for 3 months for a work assignment. Pretty solid hotel. They give you breakfast 7 days a week and dinner 3 nights a week (Tu-Th). Food is average and extremely repetitive at best, but for free not too shabby. Pretty good location, though a bit quite and a car is a must have to get anywhere. read more

I stayed there at least 15-20 nights this year 2014. As Platinum member it should have made a difference because the room rate was wrong so when I attempted to get another room the rate was inflated tried to inflate the rate. I declined and left the hotel. Phone the General Manager to discuss my problem and much to my amazement she displayed an arrogant and condescending attitude came through. Saying I did not understand. I made the reservation. When I asked about what part did she not understand about "the customer is always right" she retorted that she DID NOT BELIEVE IN THAT. While our conversation became contemptuous she ended it be saying and I quote---"THANKS FOR WASTING ME TIME"! That is a direct quote. I drove to a Holiday Inn Express and got a suite for $95 per night. Did I miss something? It is clear they have a take it or leave it. As if there are not others to choose from........... My daughter and I stayed here after our cruise because it was close to Sawgrass Mill Mall (outlet mall). We couldn't believe our eyes when we walked in our room. It looked like a mini condo. A well stocked kitchen with everything you need for your stay. I wished I could have stayed another night but I had to catch a early flight the next morning. This was one of the cleanest and friendliest hotels I every stayed at. Can't say how the breakfast was but the coffee was fantastic. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. The housekeeping was horrible, it took almost two hours to get a room we had reservations for. I had to ask housekeeping in the hallway to give me towels and bedding to change myself. We stayed exactly 7 nights and the only reason we received housekeeping is because my boyfriend called the front desk, service was not rendered until 4 o'clock that evening. Employees are extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast area usually packed and seating is limited. People don't seem to realize that the area in front of the coffee makers is NOT the place to hold family conversations and bog down the serving area. However, the mattress and pillows in our room were horrible. The bed squeaked like it has a plastic liner on it and was uncomfortable. The room was clean. The breakfast was ok. Nice selection, but crowded. Parking was adequate. read more

We recently stayed at this hotel during the hurricane. They accepted pets so we though we would try it. This hotel was showing its age but it was very clean and the staff was excellent. To our surprise they served dinner along with beer and wine in the evening. Breakfast was better than I expected eggs, meats, gravy, fruit, and cereal far better than the beagles and donuts most places serve. I also want to thank Staybridge for waving the pet fee due to the hurricane. read more

I've stayed before and this visit is by far the most disappointing. It is now 6pm and room still hasn't been cleaned. Housekeeper seems more concerned about her mobile phone than work. I watched housekeeper on phone for a good while each time while rooms remained unattended. I called front desk, 1.5 hours later and still not clean. The patio area by the pool is real nice. There is a fire pit with chairs all around, two BBQ's, in case your staying for a few days with family, and a pretty decent pool. Excellent clean hotel. The only complaint I have is that they take a $50 deposit on top of the room charges and I was told the authorization would be lifted the day I checked out. I checked out on Sunday, and here it is Tuesday and the deposit is still showing pending on my credit card and the funds are not available to use. read more
