This was a nice hotel located in Plantation, Florida and about 15 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale International Airport (not including traffic). There was ample parking. The rooms were nice, your standard hotel. It had free wifi, outdoor pool, gym, and The Bistro which is a cafe. We stayed here for a week because it was a central location for us. We have friends and family in the area and it was convenient. There are many amenities nearby too. The hotel was quiet at night. The beds were comfy. The television was decent with channels. We had two queen sized beds. Overall, it was a nice stay and we'd stay there again. read more

Stayed here for one night and had a fine experience. Nothing major was wrong. A few minor critiques: there was a pretty big gap under the door to our room that let more light and sound in than usual. I wish there was a door separating the mirror/sink area from the sleeping area because the bright light/noises of getting ready disrupts others trying to sleep. Hotel desperately needs a revamp; feels old and uncared for. Staff is indifferent. The lights at the Bistro are always low and no one is at the counter to serve in the mornings or afternoons. I don't think I have ever been in a Courtyard with less staff attention. The place is literally on autopilot and any interaction with staff is met with minimal response. Stayed here for a scheduled 2 nights and then had to extend unexpectedly for an additional 3 nights after my flight back to Texas was canceled. The good news was that my stay hadn't been horrible and the warmth of Florida was way better than the ironic freezing temperatures of Texas. Other than the additional funds I had to fork out, the stay was a blessing in disguise. Like others mentioned, this hotel was dated but had some modern updates in the lobby. Masks were required and enforced when waking throughout the hotel. The laundry and fitness center are petite but functional. Washers and dryers take quarters. Your dollar bills can be exchanged for them at the front desk. Detergent can be purchased at the front too. The pool was decent, and my room for the second half of my stay was much better than the first half. Opt for a hearing impaired room if possible. Much more spacious! The bed and linens were clean and the staff was courteous. I always do my own wipe down, but found it was cleaned well prior. I'd stay here again, even though the word plantation makes me twitch. read more

So why is local girl staying at the Courtyard in Plantation? Work meeting! Stayed here overnight with my team and used the conference services. It's not the Ritz and its not new but my room was pleasant enough and clean. The bed was very comfortable. In the lobby there is a little cafe that has breakfast, light meals, and alcoholic beverages. There is also a little business center desk with a luggage scale. I have eaten breakfast and the cafe before and it has always been good. The lunches were just okay. For example, the chicken in the salads is made with processed chicken. The conference/catering team took great care of us. We always had plenty of ice and beverages including coffee, water, and soft drinks. Not a bad place to stay for $123/night. read more

Location is close to shops and restaurants within walking distance. Cons: It's an older hotel. The lobby area looks like it has been renovated though. Modern and what you'd expect for a courtyard. The rooms are decent but dated. I didn't get any lotion or have a hair dryer in my room and came in with all of the drawers opened. Room could've been better but the beds were clean and the room was clean so no red flags. This is a complaint of a lifetime. I seriously may need therapy after what I went through at this hotel. My boss reserve two rooms at this hotel while we were coaching a swim meet nearby. He is platinum elite status. It was a four day meet (prelims/finals) so, barely spent anytime in the room but to sleep and shower. Knowing I'd have to be there Thursday night, boss reserved a room for that night in addition and we were aware I'd have to move rooms on Friday. Upon check in, they take your card and say it's for tax and security. (Never said that was $290). Friday prelims runs late until 2. I go to front desk, say my room and while she seemed annoyed, I was late, she gave me the next room key, confirmed there were two rooms reserved under boss and took my card again. Typed in my name and charged "tax and security " $590. All these (processing) charges show later... I tell my husband and boss about the charges. Husband. Who comes to visit me over the weekend tries to get it resolved and boss tells front desk as well. Still shows processing on Sunday morning and they say it's my bank. Now we get to the traumatizing part...prelims runs late and it's around 12:30 when I text my husband if he was home yet. He informs me that he was headed out but the front desk called and said we need to be out. My boss clearly asked for late check out on both rooms. My husband told front desk this information and they said (boss) can only have late check out for one room. The best they could do was have me put my things in bosses room. I told my husband we would be there as soon as possible as the meet was finishing up in 15 minutes. Boss called during this time as well. He said they started knocking on the door now and was worried if he left what would happen to my things. (I still needed to shower and change for finals that started later that evening). When boss and I arrived, we headed to the front desk and asked for the manager. The woman said she was "working the floor" Well! We knew where she was, Nicole Kelley was at the door of my room, door propped open with her body yelling at my husband to leave while on the phone with the police. Yes, the police. It was approximately 1pm and the first time we laid eyes on her, she was calling the police. We tried asking her questions. Questions about if we could speak to the manager. He was off, and we could not have his number. And since he was not there, she was now the manager and she wanted me out! We expressed the fact that he is platinum elite (my husband is too, but that's beside the point). She only kept repeating to get out. She got so mad that she ended up telling boss he had to go too. Not 5 minutes went by, we were packing our things, police show up. She requests us to be banned from the hotel for a year. They took down our names and she made a speech and everything. Police said they didn't know anything about platinum elite and that was that. We don't have any intention of going back to that hotel. Or any marriot for that matter. On our way out, we stopped at the desk, so boss could get his receipts for the rooms. Today, I viewed my account and $264.42 was still charged to my account for 12/7. If you stay here, good luck to you. *I would also like to add, when I first met Nicole Kelley, she did not have a name tag on. I asked her coworker her name (and confirmed her identity via FB) But here's the kicker, when boss went to the front desk for receipts, Nicole Kelley had the audacity to put on SOMEONE ELSES name tag. So, boss complained about the wrong person until I told him her real name. To think she may have gotten her coworker fired over this is awful on top of everything else. read more

I pulled up to the hotel and was not too impressed at the look at first. It is kind of dated, but with an updated lobby. However, the bed is very comfortable. It is clean. The staff is very accommodating and nice. The lady at the front desk remembered my last name the next day (and it's pretty challenging to remember for most!). The Starbucks coffee place in the lobby opens at 6:30am and I was there waiting at 6:26 for it (They also have beer & wine I think)! The coffee in the room (a pod system) is pretty bad. It's really close to shopping (food, wine, Joanne Fabrics, Dick's, Kohl's, Cuban food and more!). very nice to have as an option. Parking outside is free. We took advantage of the free shuttle. The driver was competent and friendly. The outdoor courtyard is really pretty and peaceful. It is reasonably priced and decent for what we needed. read more

Whenever I'm on 100% travel, it's always at least once or twice a week some hotel mucks up the incidental charges no matter how clearly and carefully I identify who's paying what. Here they ended up charging me $120 for one night's incidentals plus the cost of the room. And it took a week to drop! Three trips to the front desk made things worse. I stayed at the Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Plantation while attending a family wedding in October 2023, and this was the hotel block arranged. My aunt who was staying alone and is a cancer survivor who is still not in good health, was in another room of this hotel block for the wedding. She was shaken awake at 2am when someone was kicking and banging on her door and kept attempting to open the door handle aggressively. She called the front desk from her room, afraid for her safety, and the woman who answered from the front desk said they double booked someone else in the same room and to "just go back to sleep". The banging continued for over ten minutes before someone from the hotel spoke with the man outside the door. Thankfully his hotel room key did not work for him to enter her room! The following morning, I took my aunt and we went to speak with the manager (Nicole) who said that our family member who arranged the room block had put someone else's name on the room along with my aunt's. However, when I asked if the last name was her family last name (same as the person who booked), she said it was not. We confirmed with her nephew that only her name was assigned to the room. At no point was my aunt given an apology or any semblance of accountability on the part of Courtyard Marriott. I have stayed at multiple Marriott hotels and NEVER been treated this way or made to feel unsafe. I am disappointed at the manager's behavior and continual excuses that the system didn't allow them to see that someone is occupying a room in the hotel block. read more

Not only this location was one of the filthiest, but the partying, and liquor bottles left in the parking lot which management had the bartender pick up empty Hennessy bottles from the parking lot, but they did nothing to keep the ppl from partying every night that I stayed. I wish I can give this place at least one star! We stayed here for a week with my 3 kids. Honestly it isn't the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in but it wasn't bad. The room was basic with 2 beds, a bathroom and a Tv. I was thankful for the balcony! Housekeeping was good about giving us towels and soap. We stayed for 7 days and they only clean your room once in that time but that was fine for us. The kids loved the pool area and honestly it was a pretty chill environment. You can bring your own drinks to the pool and nobody said anything. There was not a microwave in the room but you can use the one in the lobby. No breakfast but they do have someone who can prepare food for you in the lobby for a fee. I booked 3rd party and paid about $100 a night. If I was in the area again and on a budget I would most definitely come back. read more

After an unfortunate interaction with the Operations Manager, Nicole Kelley, who by way has another horrible review from Becky R dated 12/12/23, I made the mistake and complained to Marriott about Ms. Kelley's rude and dismissive attitude towards me when I showed up in person to make a 47 night reservation for my daughter who is working in the area for the summer. I went into the Courtyard in person on Tuesday, June 11th to inquire about a long-term stay rate and was told I needed to speak to the Manager Nicole. I called 3 times on Weds only to be put on hold each time, once for over 8 minutes so I decided to stop by the hotel in person again. When I showed up Ms. Kelley acted like I was inconveniencing her by trying to make a reservation. She even dismissively stated, "You could have just done this online!" Which I couldn't do because the Marriott site would not allow me to book a stay that long after multiple attempts were met with the message "We're temporarily unable to display the information you requested. Please try again later." After complaining to Marriott Customer Service (don't waste your time there) I received an email from Ms. Kelley cancelling my reservation saying I'd be happier elsewhere. How this woman is still employed in a customer facing leadership position is beyond comprehension. Perhaps the owners of this property do not read Yelp reviews so I will contact them directly and send them Becky R's review as well. And thanks Nicole, you saved me $1,465 (not including taxes and fees) by booking at the Hampton Inn! read more

The Courtyard in Plantation is situated right off I-595 between University and Pine Island. I stay here often for work and this location has quickly become my favorite hotel in the area. It's an older hotel that has been recently updated. Very nice layout with a pool in the center. If you are hungry you can eat in The Bistro or eat at one of the numerous restaurants nearby, some within walking distance. There was a huge stain on the ceiling which they tried to cover with paint. It looked like mold and the room smelled like mold. But that is not even the best part; they double booked the room and another family walked into the room while I was getting ready for a shower. They did change our room after I reported the situation to the front desk. Not once throughout this situation was I offered an apology for the inconvenience or the breach of my and my daughters' safety caused by their double booking error. I travel for work, and stay in hotels a lot. I don't usually write reviews, but felt compelled for this stay. I will say, as a Platinum Member, I will NEVER stay in this hotel again. I will be clear and fair though, this was not a staff issue. The desk staff was friendly and accommodating. Everything else was a bit of a mess. The lobby of course was a typical lovely courtyard lobby. Very posh looking. The room however was not significantly different from a Days Inn. The dead roach and dirty sock in the closet was a bonus to the overall lackluster appearance of the room. Additionally, the gym felt like they forgot to add it then said ooops, let's use this super small space. It would have also been helpful to have better signage leading to the gym. All in all a disappointing stat and I would recommend a Holiday Inn Express over this, and that's saying alot. read more

Check-in process was fine and simple...the breakfast at the typical courtyard restaurant was mediocre as usual. There were no surprises with food. We were surprised when the room service people came in at about 8AM to clean. Fortunately I wasn't naked or anything haha, but I heard them apologize and close the door. I went back to bed. Now, for the annoying part. We wanted to take the shuttle from FLL to the hotel, so we called and asked how that worked. They said we had to set up the arrangements 24 hours in advance, and the shuttle wasn't running anymore tonight anyway. It was only 6:30... Fine, that may have been our mistake. So, FYI...apparently call 24 hours beforehand. We got there and made sure to schedule the shuttle for 11AM...she told us to be there about 10-15 minutes early. We were, and the shuttle van was waiting in the front, but there was no driver. A few minutes pass and my husband checks on it. Front desk said the driver is on his way. A few more minutes pass...and then 10 minutes. It's 11:20 or so now. He goes in again to see what the hold up is, and the driver is *just* arriving. We finally jump in the shuttle around 11:30 and much to our dismay, he takes another party completely out of the way of the airport to their shuttle destination. So...we show up on time, he's late, we're already running late, and THEN he drops some people off in BFE Ft Lauderdale. We ended up getting to the airport around 12, when it should've been a 15 minute trip. Honestly, just take a cab. It's about 40 dollars but at least you know you'll get there on time. Would I stay here again? No, but chances are I'll probably never be in this part of FLL again. read more

The Courtyard is close driving distance from the Ft. Lauderdale airport and activities. The hotel is clean, modern, and in a very safe neighborhood. They do not have free breakfast or room service but they do have a bistro that's open for breakfast and early dinner. For a small latte and oatmeal it cost about $8. They also have a little 'marketplace' where you can buy snacks and wine any time. Since I was traveling on business, the best part for me was that it was very quiet, located right next to a huge shopping complex with a lot of places to eat, and located about 2 miles from Rt. 95. If I am ever back in Ft. Lauderdale I will definitely stay here again! read more

Stayed here on Sunday night, 21 March. I booked the room through Hotels.com, and was given a rate of $159.00 + additionals. While we were checking in, the clerk told us: "Oh, you have a booking with breakfast included. I hadn't noticed that when I booked, but thought that was a nice, unnoticed benefit. Upon awakening, my bill had been slipped under the door. It was totaled to be $176.49. That was expected. We went down for breakfast. After explaining that our room included breakfast, one of the people at the counter said she would check. After a few minutes, and a trip to the front desk, she returned and said: "Yes, they have breakfast" to the other lady at the counter. That lady told us our options, which we selected, and we ate, then left. I just checked what I was charged, on my credit card, and now the total is $195.78 ($19.29 more). I just looked at the reservation again and notice there was no mention of breakfast included. It really wasn't a very good meal for that amount of money, but that not the real point. While I was surprised that the deal included a breakfast, it is more surprising now that I am understanding the scam they put on for my stay. Why did they mention breakfast when I checked in, then reaffirm that breakfast in the morning, only to charge me for the breakfast. I think it was more than an oversight, but a calculated way to rip me off, thinking I was just a stupid tourist. Please don't be fooled by this trick of theirs. The room was a very nice one, but the experience was soured by the scam this hotel pulled on us. Four stars for the room, minus a negative three stars gets you only one star from me. Sorry, Marriott. I am disappointed in you and your tricks. Update: I am not sure how it happened, but my breakfast charge was refunded. Perhaps Yelp reviews are read by some businesses, and they read how disappointed I was. Regardless, I feel better knowing my breakfast charge was refunded. I highly recommend this place. read more

It's about what you'd expect from a Courtyard. Excellent service, comfy rooms. There has never been free breakfast, so it shouldn't be expected or a surprise. Only way to get "free" breakfast is if you're an elite member (which I am). This seems to be a trend in major hotel chains making you join their point programs to get free breakfasts. The two annoying things I encountered on this stay are both related to the elevator. Incredibly slow. When I called the elevator on level 3, it took so long I gave up. When I walked down to level 1 i saw a housekeeping cart propping open the elevator. The slow elevator is obviously affecting their jobs. read more

Stayed here around the new year for the NCAA national championship game since we wanted to stay on the North Side of the stadium to avoid traffic. Rooms were nice enough, staff was nice, and they seemed to have a decent cafe in the lobby which was convenient. We ended up eating at a nearby cafe for breakfast every morning, named Kristoff's Kafe -- it was amazing. I wold say that the rooms were just ok. The lobby is definitely the nicest part of the hotel. It was upgraded so you might be faked out a little. I would stay here again because it was pretty inexpensive and also because it was near that breakfast spot (haha). I am an Elite member with Marriott, so when I needed a place to sleep between flights, I booked this hotel. I did online check in via their app, saying I would arrive at 3a. I ended up arriving at 3:26, and when I arrived the receptionist said it would be 10 minutes because she needed to close out the day. I was surprised by that, since I had already notified the hotel I would be arriving late. While she did that, I told her I would need a shuttle to the airport the next day. She told me it was full at the time I wanted, but I could go later (which would make me late for my flight). After check-in was done, I went to their little shop and saw they only had beer, so I asked if I could buy a glass of wine from the bar. The receptionist said no, saying she wasn't logged in on the computer. During this time, the receptionist didn't offer any apologies or offer to add points to my account or give breakfast coupons or anything of the sort to make up for the inconveniences. Finally, I get to the room, climb in bed to find out that I can feel the springs in the mattress. To top things off, the sheets were cotton polyester, instead of just cotton. They were so rough, I had trouble sleeping. Once I fell asleep, I woke up to children making noise in the hallway. Needless to say, I am not a perky traveler today. This really was one of the worst Courtyards I have ever stayed. read more

I'm a gold member of Marriott hotels and have been for about 13 years. Stayed at the Plantation Residence Inn last night and they treated me like royalty. Came to this hotel and I felt like they didn't care. Had me sign a form on acceptable behavior at their hotel. What kind of rift rafts do they get? Also, did I mention I'm a gold member (with a Marriott credit card)? The hallways seem dirty and the rooms small. All I thought about is that for $10 more I could be at a better hotel. Nice looking place but the front desk person, Alana, isn't the friendliest. Don't ask her a question if you don't want an attitudinal response. Most of the time Marriott employees are very friendly and always greet you with a smile. Maybe I'm tired from a long trip, but she isn't very nice and forget about being welcoming. She asked us a question and looked at us like we were crazy, when we answered. It was a simple question and simple answer. Not the best check in experience. If Marriott didn't have such an expensive cancellation policy, I would cancel here and find another Marriott location. I can't express how disappointed I am with this hotel. We waited 1 hour and 26 min at the airport after calling for the hotel shuttle. To add insult to injury the front desk never apologized for the excessive wait which was completely their fault when the shuttle didn't leave the hotel until an hour after I called. The restaurant staff was rude. He never greeted one customer, said thank you and was too busy wiping down the counter to acknowledge customers. We were in Plantation and needed a place to stay for 3 nights over Christmas. I'm Platinum at Marriott so we chose this Courtyard. What a mistake. When we checked in I had several Marriott Gift Cards that I wanted credited to my account. It was a hastle to get that done. On the second day of our stay when we got back to the room it had been cleaned. However, the housekeeper took out all of the towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner and did not replace them. I had to go to the front desk to get the room restocked. On our last day the houskeeper knocked on the door at 8:15 am wanting to know when we would vacate the room. I told her it would be about 30 minutes. We were putting some of our things in the car and still had most of our stuff in the room. When we got back to the room she was cleaning it with our possessions still there. I threw her out of the room. When I went to the front desk to complain they tried to sooth over the issue by giving me some extra Marriott points. I will never stay at this property again. The lobby has been redone but the rest of the hotel needs a refurbishing. read more
