An excellent family oriented muay Thai gym. I say family because the owner, Emilio, describes the school as family. After three sessions of training (all lasting over an hour) and hours of conversions with the instructors, I realize that the instructors are all very close like a family. As for instruction, it's again--excellent. The gym has a fight team, and fighters with years of ring experience teach the Basic/Intermediate Class. In the few times that I've trained, I received very sound technical instruction of how and why--footwork, hand rotation, stance, etc etc etc. If you have a question, they will answer it in full detail. As someone with advanced boxing and Taekwondo experience, I had numerous bad habits when it comes to mauy Thai; and they worked with me to correct this. In my sessions, Master Danny, a Thai boxer with over 400 fights, would observe the class, then come by and point out my mistakes and correct them, and so did several of the fighters. I had significant one on one training in just three sessions. This school, in the short amount of time I've trained, is excellent, I can't emphasize that enough. Also I can tell that this gym is not putting up a show for me. My training history includes: a small Dojang on Bremerton's Navy Base, two neighbors who had yet to open a Dojang, and a former DC Golden Glove; and I received excellent training with all of them. Unfortunately, I also trained in a McDojang where all they wanted was my money and also for me to invite my friends to join. Moreover, the Dojang rarely pointed out any technicalities. Nice friendly staff. Great teachers and everybody is really friendly from beginners to pro fighters everybody helps eachother so if you want to learn muaythai or just get in shape. Seapeanong will get you in shape. Its safe fun and staff members sanatize the whole gym keep it clean and also. The trainers will keep teaching you. As long as your willing to learn. Seum has had hundreds of professional fights in thailand so nothing is going to be watered down. And if you want to make friends and get inshape come to the best muaythai gym in virginia area. This gym is by far the best gym I have ever joined. Me and brother have been part of this gym for quite few years now. My brother actually lost around 30 lb after he joined seapeanong. Its a small, intimate and very effective gym to be part off, where the trainers do really care about the quality of training they provide. Master Seum, Emilio and Mel, all of them are amazing trainers, full of energy and enthusiasm. They make you work hard but then once you are part of the family, it doesnt even feel like you are working out, its more like having fun with your friends and family. There will be no lack of motivation from there side. Thats the kind of environment this gym provides. Wether you are looking to get fit or maintain your fitness or learn the skill of muay thai (thai boxing) or just boxing itself, you will not find any better place than this if you are looking for a team that really cares and will provide the best individualized training and fitness regiment for you. One of the best place to train Traditional Muay thai with great instructors.They are not some ufc gym that is out there sign you up for membership or screw you with long term contracts. I love the great motivation and positive atmosphere with everyone being so humble and respectful to each other. If you do try the gym, There is a reason why they posted leave your ego posted outside the door before you enter because This gym is all about helping you achieve your goals whether it be in fitness, competition or just for the love of the Art. Seapeanong is the best Muay Thai gym around. One of the only Muay Thai gyms that has genuine instructors from Thailand with over 400 fights of experience. The instructors and students there are very friendly and willing to help you along the way. Beginner or Advance, its a great place. There are pro's coming out of this gym as well. Hands down the best gym I've ever been to! The staff is well trained, extremely professional and friendly. The fight team never stops amazing me with how hard they train.
