So this is a hidden gem. Im afraid to but i need to share it with thise crossing the border into…read moremexico. First let me explain something about tacos de cabeza al vapor in Mexico: this type of tacos are consumed and consider a breakfast meal. Yes you eat this in the morning and thats why you see this joints open so early and close so early(most of the time they run out). For this reason i make it my mission to not cross the border anything later than 10 am. You have a couple of options in this wonderful and humble establishment. Cabeza(cheek, cows head beef, sounds weird but truly delicious) and Lengua(beef tongue), as well as conzome(the broth the meat is cooked in with cilantro and onion). The cabeza is would say is better than the lengua. It never disappoints and always full of flavor. They load up each taco and i believe its $15 pesos per taco, i never ask for price i just order and pay after I'm done ;-). And no I'm not worried, these are the mist humble and respectful family you will meet. Aside from the meat their tortillas are unique and quite good. They are different and you will not know what I'm saying until you try a taco. I usually get 4 or 5 tacos and a consome. I prefer the red salsa as it the spiciest and has the most flavor. But they have the green which is also good but less spicy. Try this place and dont be scared. Its your typical hole in the wall mexican taco stand.

Another hidden gem feet away after you have crossed the border…read more This place is ran by all women who seem to be family. $25 pesos for a fish taco. But they also have marlin tacos, shrimp tacos, quezadillas and other great options. I love how this is a fresh made to order fish taco place. They freshly fry the fish in their secret batter and give it to you crispy and pipping hot. You put whatever topping you want except for mayo which they spread on the tortilla for you(i skip it, i hate and dislike Mayo!!!). I topped my 1 taco(i had just ate across the street but was tempted for a fish taco) with cabbage, tomato, red onion with chopped habanero, a charred tomatillo salsa and in it went. Wow! It was truly an amazing bite and quite a happy feeling. The fish was cooked perfectly and the toppings just married the taco together. I wished i had room for more but trust me i will be coming back before i cross the border back to the US. And i definitely want to try the shrimp tacos too. ;-)

From what I gather it's the wife with the stand by the border and the husband possibly ex husband over past the street light. Amazing shrimp tacos ! Portions so good I made two tacos from one! Only thing keeping me from 5 stars is the fact it was so hot and a fan would've been nice!

Hubby & I had dinner here tonight. We wanted to try this place when we were here in Oct, but I…read morepicked Wednesday to try it & they are closed on Wednesday. We are so glad we got to try it. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we went. The young girl who took care of us was great! She was friendly & super sweet. Hubby got a Michelada & added a shot of Tito's since there was no alcohol in the tomato juice part of the drink. He said it was really good. My sangria was good. It's made with pineapple juice. We ordered the chips & salsa. We also ordered the guacamole. The chips & salsa were good. I was happy there was no heat in the salsa since I am a huge whimp when it comes to spicy food. The guacamole was really good after we added some salt & lime juice. I normally don't eat guacamole, but I liked it too. We went "out of our box" & tried the whole fried fish. We split it. We asked her to add rice & beans if it didn't come with it. It was huge. The fish was fried perfectly! Hubby loved it. I liked it too. It was moist. The rice was good. The refried beans were excellent! I don't know what they do, but the texture & flavor was the best we have ever had. I loved them. We will definitely make this place are go to when we come down again. Please note tips are cash only in case you don't carry cash!

I have Carlos V shrimp, something new for me. Such generous portions, you'll leave her 10lbs heavier. Allegedly they have dessert but too full to try. This place is really small, so if there's a big party you're SOL. We never leave PP without eating here, we love it so much
