We noticed a significant amount of dust buildup around our vents, so we contacted Steamatic for a full cleaning. When I called, they quoted a price based on our home's square footage. Since that didn't feel precise, I asked for someone to come out and confirm the estimate. A staff member visited, counted all the vents and intakes, and explained that we had more vents than expected for a home our size, which increased the price. I appreciated the transparency there. Before scheduling, I asked how long the job would take. I was told two hours. The day of service was where the problems began. Two Steamatic employees arrived at 9 a.m. They explained they needed to set up a large vacuum system in the basement. Unfortunately, this equipment required more power than anticipated, and it took nearly two hours just to find an outlet configuration that would work. Once they began cleaning, the process took much longer than the original estimate - they finished at 4:30 p.m. That's a seven-and-a-half-hour job, not the two hours I had been told. I contacted Steamatic to express my frustration. To their credit, the company responded quickly: a supervisor came out several days later to inspect the work and found several issues, including dust on walls and ceilings, vents missing screws, and others not secured properly. Within a few hours, a second crew was sent to correct everything. Steamatic ultimately made things right. I received a revised invoice with a $177 discount, which I appreciated, and a VP called me personally to understand what happened. The supervisor also explained that the job should have been estimated at five hours - not two. One final note: no matter how careful the team is, vent cleaning does create some dust in the home. That's simply part of the process. Bottom line: Based solely on the service day experience, I would have rated this a 1. But because of how they handled the issues- prompt follow-up, corrections, and a fair discount - I'm giving them a 3 out of 5. read more

I-had water damage to my home from a pipe bursting , they sent over 2 guys around 23 of age , to remove the wet sheet rock in my laundry room. Well they came with NO equipment, I was sleep from working the night before so my friend was there . They her for a butter knife to remove the sheet rock really !!! Then after one week the dryer fans running 24 hours a day for one week Then OK, they came to remove the WET sheet rock , come on it dry now and I told to take it all out the first time they came , but they didn't, they also track mud and dirt on my stairs from the worker . Oh yes they send someone out to clean the carpet on my stairs . I was under the impression static was a good a responsible company NOT . I very seldom write reviews but I had to warn consumers out there . My insurance company did not give me a choice to use any other company. But stay away are fight to get another water company out ,they deserve a -5 star! read more

Horrible company, untrained employees, and they don't even bring what is needed to do the job. Even though the vice president came to my home admitting that the work had been done poorly. Steamatic was recommended to me for grout cleaning so I gave them a call as I have been unable to clean my grout with traditional cleaners and scrubbing with a toothbrush. They cleaned the tile in one bathroom and then moved on to the next. When I inspected the first bathroom I was surprised to find the color of the grout was minimally improved and still looked dirty (darker color in used places than the area usually covered by a rug). I told the technician and he kindly agreed to clean again. It looked much better after a second time but there were some stains he was unable to remove. The other bathroom's grout does not look any different but it's a very old tile & grout and likely beyond help so I don't necessarily blame them for that one. The entry way was not much improved. Unfortunately the hose used for the steamer caused some damage to the doorways and knocked a good amount of paint of which I'll have to touch up. And solution used to clean spilled on the hardwoods in my bedroom and appear to have left a stain. At the very least, residue with the technician's shoe prints. There was nothing put down to protect the surrounding floor prior to starting the job. Overall, my grout in 1 out of the 3 rooms I had done is much better. The technician was nice about cleaning the one room a second time but did not ask for me to review it again before he finished. All things considered I don't think it was worth it for the cost and other damage. read more

On 11-Jul-17, Steamatic came out to clean our carpets. The first employee was friendly, but he didn't do a good job on the carpets. He missed areas in the bedroom and the office (they were completely dry) and failed to get up all the dirt in the family and living rooms. I noticed all of this after he left when inspecting the work. He almost left without applying the sanitizer, so I had to remind him we had paid for it in two rooms. He was nice enough to apply it to the whole house as an apology. Also, the carpets were all dry within about two hours of him leaving. This isn't normal. So I complained to the person I booked with. She stated this employee had complaints all morning and that he had complained about being sick, although she stated this was obviously no excuse. So she said she would send someone out the following week to redo our carpets. The person that came out to redo them did a really good job, although he talked on his phone the entire time he was cleaning our carpets. The problem is I logged onto our credit union account shortly after he left and found our balance was $12. $700 had been zapped out of the account with another merchant. When I called the credit union, I was told my spouse's debit card had been used around 11am, about the time this employee was cleaning our office upstairs (arrived around 10:30am). We keep our debit and credit cards in the desk and I didn't think about moving them before they came each time. My bad. First thing I thought was that a Steamatic employee could lifted the credit card information and because we rarely if ever using the card for purchases, so I called the office and spoke to a manager. The manager said he was going to call the employee into the office. I stated I was going to file a dispute with our credit union in person as well as a police report and would call them back with more info. When I arrived at the credit union, I was advised of another charge that came through on the account for .18 cents the night before around 10pm. So, it probably wasn't this employee but does not entirely eliminate Steamatic. So, I call Steamatic to update the manager about an hour after the first call. I tell the manager what happened and that I don't believe it was this particular employee. The manager tells me he already fired the employee, so I feel terrible. Then he tells me he would have gotten fired anyhow due to prior theft allegations and customer complaints. Then I don't feel terrible but feel pretty irritated. I wonder why in the world they sent out this type of employee to correct another employees 'mistakes if he has already been on corrective action for theft and poor performance. So I file a police report. The officer said it is likely the account info was heisted two different ways. First, by access to the card using a scanner to obtain the magnetic info; second, by a data breach at my credit union. It could have been used online but the credit union doesn't have enough info yet and it is highly unlikely. So, I drive home to find a message on my machine from the Steamatic employee. In the message he states he and his attorney want to obtain a statement from me about what I think happened. He leaves a phone number that continues to say the call cannot be completed as dialed when I try to call it back. I call back to speak to the manager to give him an update on the report and the phone call, and he advises me the employee is disgruntled. He encourages me to call him saying maybe I can smooth things over, although this employee always has problems with his cell phone, so it will be hard to get a hold of him. Considering this manager says he would have been fired anyhow due to prior theft allegations and customer complaints, I don't understand why they think it is prudent to have a customer call a disgruntled employee, especially because they jumped the gun so fast on my complaint, firing him as a result. They should handle this employee themselves. I've used them in the past with no major complaints. This is the only reason why they are getting two stars. Because of how they handled this problem, I seriously doubt I'll use them again. I cannot trust a company that continues to employee people who have documented issues of customer complaints and prior theft. Don't feel ok with that in my house. Plus, now I have to worry if this employee is going to retaliate against us because this company managed to let him walk away with our personal info (the manager did state he thought he took everything from him upon dismissal and that he must have saved our personal info in his cell phone). read more

I had Steamatic clean my house ducts 2 months ago. I am totally satisfied with the price and service. Their conduct and cleaning procedures are first rate. My house is 60 years old. I have lived here for over 40 years. Early this year I was making modifications to one of 2 main cold air return pipes and became aware of large amounts of pet hair and dirt in it. When the return duct was inspected, very large amounts of hair and dust/dirt were found. Steamatic cleaned it all out. I am very sure I and my wife are breathing much cleaner and healthier air. Scheduled cleaning for few rooms as well as my sectional couch. They called me over an hour before my scheduled appt., said he had cancellation, coming now, ok? Um not really but...told him I hadn't pre-vacuumed yet, needed like 30 min. He said ok but not super important unless your carpets are really dirty...really? Because I have lab and a son and my back door is off my living room. I set to vacuum, he showed up in about 20. Said my couch looked good...as if didn't need to be cleaned...? I said thanks I try but it's two years old and if nothing else a general freshening up would be good. He did that first, spent a fair amount of time, like 40 minutes. I guess it wore him out because he then zoomed through my living room and did two bedrooms in about 10 min. Paid. Left. At some point there was some kind of wheeling where if I paid cash then I would get a decent discount. Sounds shady, I don't have cash anyway, how does the quoted price change? I don't want to play let's make a deal, I want upfront pricing for the job requested. Ugh. Carpet dried...in crazy striped dirty water marks. You could see the pass of the machine. Called them back, apologetic, guy not surprised though-like is this the expectation? Gosh if he were my employee, I'd be pissed because he hadn't done the job right the first time. Anyway they sent someone out. Guy was nice but as I'm showing him our circus striped carpet, he's not showing any signs of recognition, as if perhaps I'm hallucinating, and he can't see what I see. Ok fine. He cleaned the obvious living room-Berber-and was ready to run when I said the bedrooms needed to be done as well. Since the water was dirty when the living room was done, of course the rooms cleaned after were even dirtier. I was around the house doing things, happened to be in the basement putting in laundry, down there for 5 min. Came upstairs and he had evacuated quickly! I threw open the front door (van still in driveway), to wave and yell thanks. And the bottom of my storm door was hanging off the door. So he broke my door. And ran out of my house. We had the carpets in our living room, family room and dining room all cleaned. They showed up in the time they were expected, and were finished so quickly!! I fully expected to have to leave for a few hours to be out of their way, but he finished up and was on his way so fast, I didn't need to. Not only that, but the carpets look great! Steamatic did the flooding clean up for our finished basement when the flood happened on July 27th...During that time, 3 storm windows were thrown away in error on their part...and a hole in my wall by the dryer was made from moving and hauling away damaged items.. Company stated in writing they would pay for the windows and for the hole in the wall...I have sent over 3 emails to Jeff and to Juan about the hole in the wall...three times the cost of $300 was sent to them to respond...My contractor is waiting to start the repair but not until Steamatic pays 1/2 up front and 1/2 when done...They have not acknowledged any of my emails...I also need to have them see the estimates I have for the windows which I have not sent to them yet as I am trying to deal with one issue at a time..I would like to get this settled ASAP.....I have other issues that I do not want to post here online that also occurred....this was probably the worst experience we have dealt with...the flooding was bad enough but then these issues happened....my local insurance agent Dave Housh highly recommended this company to help me out...however, it has turned into a nightmare. read more
