The menu is limited but the items on it are on par with some of the better cafes in San Francisco. The breakfast bagels are spot on and made with care and attention. Bacon jam is to die for. The staff are friendly and the cafe is very inviting and begs for you to sit,relax and enjoy the subtle non disruptive music. Very peaceful experience and a relaxing break if you are driving by. Only recommendation would be to change the sign out front. We have had a place in the valley for almost 10 years and drive by regularity and have seen the sign saying "loca"l but never noticed the small words "coffee house".Maybe that's a good thing for us though. The lady working didn't seem to have any help so she was pretty much doing everything in the front of the house from greeting, cleaning to serving. We enjoyed the thai prawn wrap and the chorizo pizza. Plus, they make their own infused cold tea. It was a bit fruity with a hint of honey for sweetness. The inside is just lovely... so well organized and decorated... and efficient. They have some lovely nibbles (which we sadly did not partake in) to choose from. The coffee is very tasty. Husband got the drip... light roast. I got an iced vanilla latte with coconut milk. (Their alternative milks - which are not listed on the menu board - are coconut milk and oat milk.) My latte was strong and tasty! Had me buzzing a bit and probably was not a good idea to then sit for about 2 hours in the car as I was hopped up like a spider monkey once we got out of the car in Banff. hahaha!

There was a basket at the front with discounted bread from the previous day. It was very hard to resist because it looked delicious and was less than $2. We were headed out for a hike next so we stuck to our plan for one treat each. We were really hoping for pastries but that section of the case was empty oddly enough. My husband chose the oatmeal raisin cookie. It was way too crunchy and not much flavor unfortunately. I adore meringue and was intrigued by the unique shape of theirs so that was my choice. Perfection! My big issue with meringues are the gumminess inside the big fat ones. This design remedies that and I will be buying a piping bag and making mine this way forevermore. The chocolate dip was a nice, yummy touch as well. Just an idea for the shop-- We have a place in the UK and there is a shop there that adds chunks of candy bars to their meringues and it is heavenly. Seed planted, locals! You're welcome!!
