The key difference from US hotdogs is Scandinavian hot dogs are high-quality, long, thin sausages, often with unique toppings like crispy onions, remoulade, or mash. They also have a very distinct "snappy" casing that we like a lot more.
Luckily we found Steff's Place at Terminal 3 at Copenhagen airport and went out of our way to come. It's a perfect snack that's not too large and other people agreed because the line got quite long later.
French Hot Dog: Comes in a crispy outside and soft inside french roll and lined with ketchup. This is the iconic Danish street food and the thing we wanted most. It was great but do not the hotdog squeezes around when you try to take a bite of it and moves around. Delicious and unique.
Classic Hot dog: We got it fully loaded. Comes with fried garlic, mayo, ketchup, mustard, and topped with pickles. Reminded me of a Scandinavian version of a Chicago dog and tasted quite balanced and delicious. read more
