I have always wanted to try it, and just a few days ago my sister and I went to visit Copenhagen for the weekends. We were fortunate to try a danish hot dog concoction here. I ordered the largest hot dog (costed 40 Danish Krones), and my sister ordered the moderate sized one (30 Danish Krones). WOW! It was one of the best hot dogs I have eaten. They nicely toast the hot dog bun, and place the hot dog in it w/ different types of sauces (mustard, ketchup & some special yellow sauce), crispy fried onions, raw onions & pickles. The flavors were really that amazing, and the hot dog itself was so savory. Highly recommended! I loved it so much, I ate one right before I left. It was opened Saturday & Sunday when we were there a few days ago.

The attitude and gruff tone were interesting. Everything added up, including the other actions that made it seem like they weren't a fan of being there that day all led to an unenjoyable experience. The sloppy way they slapped down the hot dog--pretty much slapped down, not placed--raised some eyebrows. I wish the actual hot dogs were better, but they were just alright. I'm from a very tiny town in Northern California that has a famous Danish hot dog sold at a store called the Red Front. The yellow bun it's served on is an old Danish recipe that's famous in part because it's delicious, but also because it's so recognizable it solved a crime. Although Red Front's hot dog link is very similar to the one this DØP kiosk serves, it's DØP's bun that brings the experience down from a four to a three. The type of bun I expected is known as a classic soft pølsebrød. It's similar to Challah in that it's a yellow egg bread and tastes nothing like the heavy sourdough bun DØP uses and the honey and I ended up mostly throwing away. The service itself was friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the pickles and the hot dog itself - it's just the bun that doesn't work. So all in all, I'd love to see them offer the option of the older recipe bun in the future.

It's one of those things where I was glad I stopped by, but didn't really experience anything with the food or ambiance that would make me recommend this as a out-of-the way stop that the ranking would seem to suggest. This one is the original, using the station building as a walk-up window with the kitchen inside. They have a few picnic tables on the side for outdoor dining, and I do think that it's important to eat the burger as soon as possible. The interesting thing is that it is still a working gas station, with an island with multiple pumps dispensing petrol (which I didn't see being used during my wait) and some electric charging stations (which was actively being used). I was able to place my order (nothing customized, just wanted exactly as they described after about a 10 minute wait, got my lemonade right away, and waited another 10 minutes to get my food (everything is made-to-order). The cheeseburger was 110 DKK, fries was 40, lemonade was 35, and dipping sauce was 10 with 10 off for being a combo. So total was 185 DKK (about $28.88 in USD). The process and food reminded me very much of a Shake Shack, with the young workers working together to produce well-made smashburgers using great ingredients. The color scheme reminds me of a Wingstop, though. I squeezed between a couple of single diners and dug in. The burger was good, with that loose smash burger quality. It came with a mayo based thousand island like sauce (their gasoline sauce), and had tomato, pickles, red onion slices, and a gooey, plentiful cheese. The lemonade was good, and the hint of elderflower made it memorable. The crinkle fries were good, well done fried which I appreciate. Ate the meal fast before my hands started to freeze up, tossed the remains in the gas station islands garbage bin and was on my way. I really do think a food like this is all about where you eat it...if on an airplane, or at a ballpark, or at the beach...yeah, I could see the appeal. But at a gas station in freezing weather on a picnic table...not so much.

Two ladies manning a food cart, I'm sure #1 son and I could easily tip over. A cooking wagon no more than 5 feet wide and 4 feet deep. They were bunning those dogs fast and furious. Sending many a happy customers into the square with a trail of well fed pigeons in their wake. It didn't matter that it was 38°. Nor did it matter that I whoofed mine down with one glove on. It's an hour later and the roasted garlic is still kicking in my mouth just as the salty savory remnants of that tubular meaty sausage.... #1 son and I Clinked the bun ends of our identically made dogs in honor of Anthony Bourdain, the guy who inspired us to eat local, eat the street food in a city. Danish pølsers are kinda like American hot dogs but slightly meatier. They are not nearly however as meaty & flavorful and sometimes spicy as Austrian wursts which I think are infinitely better. Like most hot dogs pølsers also use a lot of casing. Oh well, I still always nosh on one when I am in Copenhagen and what I like best are all the additions that truly make this a hearty snack. Danish have a white remoulade sauce which is always added to the pølser but I wish they would use more of it. I also like a large dollop of Danish apple ketchup which I could not taste on the one I ordered from Jeanette's. But still this pølser def hit the spot on an afternoon hanging out in Copenhagen!
