Went to be accessed for a trip and fall that required repair and attorney because had effected a previous back surgery by causing a 7' herniated disc above the previous hardware in my back, and a badly bruised knee, due to negligence at SMCC. Not only was not notes taken, the procedures to address why I was coming to be seen was miss treated. The knee was supposed to be injected with blue jell but instead was injected with clear stuff that had no affect, and although doctor stated my back was debilitating, he was looking at the previous surgery hardware and not the new herniated disc above the hardware. To make matters worse, he false accused me of something I did not do. It is my belief that due to things the doctor said out loud to me numerous times, his staff took offense and one in particular treated me with neglect, negative treatment and made decisions against what the doctor (his boss) requested. Too much arguing between two staff members made me decide not to return once I get copy of medical records and prescription be called in but X ray technician made decisions against doctor's request and refused for weeks to not do so. The Blue Jell for knees was not used even though the doctor submitted approval to my insurance company. I requested my medical records. Three months of treatment (at least 6 appointments) but no notes ever written. My reinjury case was sabotaged because of this mistreatment and disgusting behaviors... Humm read more

I never felt like ever once looked at my chart before seeing me. Even after my 5th there in the office it was always ' so what am I seeing you for?' He always asked me 'how did you injure yourself?' I have no idea I just no over time my body has fallen apart but if there's needs to be a specific injury detailed in order to get help this isn't the place for you. Not all body issues are from a specific injury. Or a work accident. Life just takes its toll and he didn't seem to understand that aspect of being human. He's a note taker not a doctor. read more

The front office staff is friendly and did not require me to wear a mask however I've been sitting in a room waiting to see him for two hours now. I was told by the front office staff, "sorry this is typical here". I do not appreciate wasting my time waiting for over two hours. I have been seeing Dr Steingart for over 20 years. He has been spot on with his diagnostics and treatment plans. I have had to consult with him twice on a weekend and he called back within 15 minutes both times. I guess you would call that old school care for his patients and I love it. He probably saved my life or from having some amputations on one of those weekends when he diagnosed my issue as a blood infection and told me to get to the ER immediately and told me what to tell them was wrong with me. They confirmed my MRSA infection within minutes. Life saving surgeon. Fabulous, caring, trained staff. Dr. Steingart performed back surgery on my husband twelve years ago and gave him his life back. My husband went to him with extreme debilitating pain from a bulging disk. He literally crawled in and walked out after surgery. A miracle! Recently I went to see him for a hip problem. I had an appointment with Dr. Steingart for some neck issues. Dr. Steingart is a no nonsense, professional, thorough, caring Dr who gave me real world advise. Given my medical background, multiple surgeries and other complications he quickly provided me the best path of appropriate excercises and stretches to address the issue with humorous analagies involvoing baseball pitchers arms and others. We are having our son make an appointment to deal with some back issues. Dr. Michael Steingart is the epitome of the perfect Orthopedic Surgeon!! I have been seeing him for well over 10 years. After having my back violently broken, and being told by two other (ill equipped) Orthopedic Surgeons, that my prognosis was beyond dire, and in their medical opinions-untreatable, I was so blessed to find Dr. Steingart. He treated me that first visit, and EVERY subsequent visit there after, as an individual, special and precious human being. His bedside manner is a kin to the old 'timey' doctors of long ago television days. He performed my very successful back surgery. Just prior to my surgery as I was laying down after being prepped, I told him through tears, "I'm a single mom and my little girl has no other family." As he sat there next to me, he held my hand and lifted his. He told me and showed me that he isn't/wasn't wearing a watch. Meaning that he didn't care how long it took to work on my back, his attention was on me and not the clock. That is a dedicated professional surgeon and human being. Dr. Steingart is perhaps the best orthopedist I have ever met. He is a very busy doctor in a busy practice so sometimes the wait can be long, but would you want to go to a doctor that no one want to see? He is brilliant and his patient skills are impeccable. Dr. Steingart takes various workers comp cases. So anyone being sent for a 2nd opinion by workers comp needs to be careful as Dr. Steingart tries to make you feel comfortable and make you feel like he will be fair and objective. However HE IS NOT. He used every medical report he could find to minimize injurys and in my case attribute my injurys to getting older and not related to work. Even though I was fine until I was hurt at work. Dr. Steingart is the insurance companies friend not the injured worked. How this carries over to his practice I do not know. But for workers comp case he is just as bad as Dr. Lampert. Dr. Steingart screwed me even better by saying I am not cleared to go back to work but cant work do to non work related issues. You've been warned. read more

First time patient. I arrive of course 15 minutes early to fill out the forms pay the $150 co-pay etc. as 45 minutes goes by one of the patients comes out of the room screaming that she's going to go run into traffic and they had to call the plolice to go and stop her. Then another 45 minutes goes by and they finally take me into the room sit me down and the medical assistant starts typing and typing and typing and typing without saying a word until finally asked what's going on are you the doctor is the doctor coming ....he said he is just getting information. He continued to type and then started asking me questions that a doctor should be asking me I didn't understand the procedure and why after over an hour and half the Dr wasn't asking me these questions. I have been managing doctor's offices for quite some time however, in all my time managing and consulting private practices; I have never seen a more well organized and efficient practice! It was just fantastic; my whole experience was top notch. I felt such warmth from the personnel and the level of care was a 10 out of 10. The physician was excellent, I did not have to worry about telling him my fears, he was empathetic and extremely caring and compassionate to my situation. Seems like a patient mill to me -- high volume processing with minimal attention. I was a new patient, arrived on time to a relatively empty waiting room, and filled out the usual 7 or 8 sheets of paperwork. Waited a bit. Was taken back to an exam room. Waited a bit. A tech went over the questions I had just answered on the paperwork, but this time he entered the information into a computer. I was told the doctor would be in to see me in a few minutes. I waited an hour with no contact whatsoever from anyone. All the while I could hear other patients being helped through the paper-thin walls of my exam room. Meanwhile I could have died in there and they would have had no clue. So I left. On the plus side, I was given a refund of my copay, along with a lame excuse that Mondays are their busiest days. Like I was the one who picked that day and time; I went with the first appointment date/time they suggested. In sum, I wasted 2.5 hours of my life in travel time and wait time, messed up my work schedule, wasted my coworkers' time covering for me, burned unnecessary gas, and still have my back pain. The waiting room was quite full when I left, and I felt a brief pang of sympathy for those poor souls. No way I am coming back here. read more
