I have been coming here for 5 years, to span two different dogs and many different dog and cat friends. While a little pricier than other options in the area, this pet store is stocked with items that are well vetted and understood by the owners and employees personally. Every employee can provide genuine input and assistance into any pet related needs whether it's food, treats, harnesses or clothing, toys, etc. There are many familiar faces that have stayed working here over the years, which is always a plus. I also love what they do for the community, helping police dogs and sponsoring little events, such as around the holidays where they give free treats and coupons or other items. Follow their social media to stay up to date! There is a bath you can use (I haven't used it yet but have almost needed to so many times) where they provide all the materials and do the clean up. It's on a first come first serve basis, but you can always call to gauge how busy it is. Student discounts offered only on certain days. Not best budget for broke students but the assurance I have with the quality of the items (esp food) I'm buying for my dog is worth it.

There are aisles and aisles of products just for dogs, not to mention for other animals such as horses, birds, etc. I also like to look around for small gifts for others (read: stocking stuffers for Dad). I suspect, however, that those who own or work on farms like this place for a whole lot of other reasons beyond my current understanding. This Tractor Supply Co is a little off the beaten path in that it is not close by many other businesses. It is on Old 421 headed East from Boone. I come here with my dog because it is on our way back from the dog park at the Watauga Humane Society. We love to stop off and walk around (he's allowed inside, as are all dogs) and pick out a new toy or treats. 5 stars for me for this place! Love the uniqueness of the items here (including the cute baby chicks omg aw), the friendliness/knowledge/non-annoyingness of the staff, the cleanliness of the facility, and the fact that my dog is allowed. It is to be expected that a local fish store charges more but nearly $70 above the competition is price gouging, desperate, and preying on the unit informed. Through another retailer we were able to purchase the AquaFX Barracuda 4 Stage RO/DI unit for 145. Stay away from this crook!!!

Nowhere to put anything, the last shelf unit broke little by little until now it's just one stupid shelf on the ground. Aprons torn to shreds & barely protect you from water, clasps don't work. Shampoo is always out, knobs broken, water too hot & no individual control. They don't care if pets are unleashed. At the new place you can take everything on the list & say the exact opposite. They clean the tubs after every wash. You pick your shampoo. Stacks of clean towels. Nice hose & faucet in good repair & water temp individually controllable. The whole experience was different. Night & day. PSP is like trying to get clean at a hoarder's house. The other one was like a spa.
