I have had stacks of electronics that I have been wanting to rid myself of, but without making a wasteful footprint on the environment. I had this center bookmarked fo a while, but had waited to make a trip. They have pretty good hours Monday - Saturday. All of my recyclables this time were easy lifts, so they have a drive-thru where you stop, and somebody comes and gets everything out of the car for you. Like a grocery pickup. They just do everything while you wait in your car. They also have the ability to take larger equipment. Some of those things you have to set an appointment for and certain items have to be paid for for them to take it. It's usually a very small fee just for disposal costs and things like that. Entirely worth it for whatever it is you're trying to do. Nothing here is expensive. Highly recommend if you're looking to offload some extra stuff that you're not using anymore without just chucking it in a trash can. They also have paper recycling and shredding services available. I like this recycle center, but I don't come here often due to the limited hours. They are only open Tuesday-Saturday from 9a-1p. It continues to be a drive thru center. The bay holds three cars and they have designated spots for each vehicle. You must stay in your car and let the attendants take whatever you're recycling out of your vehicle. One good thing about Stella Roberts is that they take all sorts of items/materials. On my last visit, I dropped off old electronics and cell phones. They also take the typical materials like plastic, aluminum, and paper. They accept large appliances and hazardous materials, but I believe you have to make an appointment first. You can drop off items during non-business hours. They have large bins positioned just outside of the drive thru gate for old clothes, books, and small appliances. I like to drop off old clothes and shoes here for textile recycling. I'm grateful for the bins since it's difficult for me to visit during business hours. read more

This is one of the best recycling locations in the surrounding/greater Houston area. It's is clean, organized and the staff/volunteers are always so wonderful. Please make their life easy and pre-sort your items. It is free to recycle your usual items (glass, plastic, paper, aluminum). Please call ahead of you have hazardous waste or appliances. Fix you shredding machine. It's too expensive to pay. It's ridiculous how much money Pearland makes and you can't fix the shredding machine not to mention the recycle centre is horribly kept it needs to be cleaned up and organized. read more

Very disappointed to learn that after many years of being able to go to the recycle center to pick up something someone else no longer wanted that was recyclable, (books, tv, monitors, phone, paint, etc) you can no longer "upcycle" and pick up items to keep out the dump. I love this recycling center so much that I drive all the way from the Scarsdale/Beamer area to drop my plastics off here to recycle. The staff are so nice and they help you unload your recycling goods. Like I mentioned in a previous review, everywhere I go I always draw a crowd. Once I pull my car in the warehouse looking garage everybody and they momma drive in to drop off there useful trash. Hint: Don't go around 3pm, if you are coming from Fite Rd. The narrow road from the school will be backed up. It's a big long car rider line. another Hint: Go during the week to drop off your recycling goods because they are closed on the weekends. They ARE open on Fridays though. I just wish we had curbside recycling pickup in my area which is in the burbs. I don't understand why we don't have it. Also, they don't get angry if you don't clean out your plastics. They take as is, and they don't complain. I know, they have closer recycling centers near my house. I went there today to have some paper shredded and found out that they now charge a fee of five dollars to shred your documents. This is a new change started in January 2020. You need to become a member for $50 otherwise. I think I will take my documents to the bank on the free day and have it shredded there. It was always free before. Otherwise the staff is always very helpful and it's a great place to recycle your items. read more

Located in a nice area in Pearland, I was complete in approximately 1.5 minutes. It is a drive through facility in which the workers remove the items from your car and sort. The worker pulled the large trash bags filled with water bottles and a few detergent bottles. He did make sure that I was not recycling a load of plastic bags, they do not accept at this location. Surprise!!! Recycling is no longer free. It costs $1.50/LB for paint and other chemicals. Cost effective way is for you to dump all your old paints and stains into 5 gal cans and eliminate paying for the weight of all the cans. Had I known, I could have saved $150 or so off the bill of $434. That being said, it's still the easiest and safest procedure in cleaning out the dangerous chemicals in your garage. pull in, stay in your vehicle and out in 5 mins. Upon moving to the area, I was surprised that recycling is not popular or even convenient within the large metropolis of Houston! Seriously, why is this so difficult when it seems so easy [almost] everywhere else in this great country? This place is welcoming and the staff are extremely friendly! I just pulled into the large building and parked to unload. Then, a young gentleman immediately assisted me with unloading my recyclables and even insisted on sorting the smaller boxes full of cans, bottles & plastic. He showed me that they package retired computers, monitors, TV's, etc. and then send them to another company to meet their fate. I am happy to see that our tax dollars are going towards a worthwhile cause here at Stella Roberts Recycling Center...we need other locations too. I will just fill up boxes at my home and make the drive out to this recycling center once a month or so. read more

Though we have curbside recycling pickup in our neighborhood, we still have a use for Stella Roberts Recycling Center since they take glass, electronics, and will (if I'm not mistaken) shred paper documents for you if you'd like. They also take old paint and their helpers are very nice even though I'm sure it gets plenty hot in the little warehouse. Just drive in, pop your trunk, and dump whatever you've got into any of the large bins. Supposedly this all gets sorted somewhere...which I'm suspicious of...but I don't have the time to do a full on investigative exposè. 4 stars. Nicely organized. Helpful staff. read more

Super quick and efficient process. The driveway is a loop and so you can only go the right way through the center. It's a drive-through/drop off. I drove up on a Monday afternoon no one else was there and a nice gentleman helped me to unload. You do not have to sort out your items and they all can be dumped in one bin except for glass. This makes recycling super easy for me as my husband never seems to quite understand sorting! Although disappointed that our new neighborhood does not offer curbside recycling this is a very easy and customer friendly service that will encourage me to continue to recycle. read more
