The drinks and service have improved! Still overpriced but it's the times I get it. Two Tito's dirty martinis came out to $42 dollars. Again, if service matches the price that's fine, it is always just inconsistent. I love the themed nights, Salsa night was so fun! But now the horrible live music has gone from Tuesday to Friday.. yay! Nothing I want to hear more on a TGIF than sad crooner rock being shouted at me. Great atmosphere but grossly understaffed. It was like the business plan was build it and they will come and that's it. It seems the owners want the feel of upscale bar and charge accordingly but only want to staff a few bartenders and have you stand at bar and wait for service. Stella's is by far my favorite place to go! The staff is always friendly and the cocktails are fantastic! I don't understand why people are complaining about the prices, if you go to a spot like this anywhere else you're going to pay the same. It is not a dive bar, If you want $3 beers then this is not the place for you, I do not mind spending $15 on a well-crafted cocktail. The rooftop is perfect during the warmer weather and the owner takes great care in making sure there is always some kind of entertainment for her guests. Stella's has the best atmosphere. They have pergolas and a plant wall on their rooftop and serve very fancy cocktails. My complaint is they do not sell any food and their cocktails are Washington, DC prices. We had a male waiter and he was so nice and professional. It was so lovely and relaxing sitting in the couches while the sun set. I hope this place stays around! read more

Our group has been coming here for several years now once a week, anywhere from 3 to 8 of us. The owner has never once acknowledged our presence, never makes eye contact, never comes over to our tables and said "Hi" or "appreciate your business." Wait staff is sometimes inattentive to the point of ignoring you. When they have special events, they treat you like you're not welcome. We won't be back. read more

Girls Night Out and we were really looking forward to trying this new bar. Unfortunately none of the employees were wearing masks in accordance with the state mandate. I was directed to the unmasked manager who told me she didn't have to wear a mask and refused to put one in when asked. I definitely won't be back any time soon. read more

I SPECIFICALLY asked the bartender, Jose, about the happy hour whiskey during happy times (extended happy hour last Friday of every month) he informed me, and I ordered a happy hour drink. Several actually. Once I received my bill, I noticed I was charged regular price, even though ALL of my drinks were charged during the extended happy hour. WOW! I was a Sommelier of several James Beard awarded restaurants in NOLA. I inquired...hey I thought you said these drinks were on the happy hour menu. Nope he up charged me. I was completely blown away. Unfortunately, the security at the front was being extremely rude to women entering the establishment. I had no idea that my license had expired 10 days ago and the way that he spoke to me was extremely embarrassing. I had been using the ID all weekend and didn't even think to check it. I was the third person he was doing this to just in the time we walked in. I would totally understand but maybe some training on respectfulness would be helpful. read more

Ok, so I have been anticipating the opening of this unique bar for the downtown area for about 8 months. I started following the progress on their Instagram accounts, and I really couldn't wait visit. My first impression began with the beautiful decor and most indoor seating was full when I arrived. So I ventured out to the outdoor seating patio, there there are 3 sitting areas with standing heaters and the capability of looking Fire display for each spot. Three of the four standing heaters were gathered around the other two parties already there. Their Fires were lit, and they were all enjoying drinks. I sat down and waited. My fire was not lit...and my heater wasn't very close. And I waited. The employee working the outdoor patio never acknowledged me. I felt ignored. I eventually went up to him and asked to have my fire turned on. When he tried...it was broken. So, I moved inside. Someone told me there was another outdoor patio area on the other side. I went out there and waited probably five minutes before anyone came to turn a heater on. My husband and I ordered drinks. Mine was not cold and his (expensive) Manhattan was tiny! Eventually we moved inside and the only saving grace was Sarah, one of the attentive waitresses. At some point, our patio waiter must have finished his shift...because he walked around with his little knapsack on his back. He looked like he was checking on us, so I began to ask a question. So then explained that he is off shift and Sarah would help me. He walked right past Sarah then and did not let her know that we needed help. I will try again....hopefully I will have a better time nect time. read more

When I first went to Stella's as it was opening, I had a really good time. The bartenders were fun, seemed knowledgeable (with a few seeming to be learning, which is always nice to see, being a bartender myself) but the other night, I was extremely unimpressed. The bartenders seemed completely swamped on a Friday evening (no bar back, if they employ one, everyone seemed scattered), none of them wearing masks (which I've noticed a couple times, but they've never been so busy that the worry of Covid had crossed my mind), and it seemed to get worse when a manager arrived and stepped behind the bar. I placed an order, never saw the tender even begin to make my drinks, then had to reorder from a separate bartender 7 min later, after witnessing the first one taking new orders and making those. The manager who arrived also seemed to take special attention to other guests, who were only ordering bottled beers anyway. On top of that, it seemed that an employee (im assuming) who had arrived alongside the manager was actually intoxicated and standing behind the bar. Once I ordered and received my drinks, we opened a tab (seemingly) and sat outside (which we then found that my friends daiquiri was not very tasty). When another friend arrived, we went to the bar and ordered a Sazerac, and not only did we not see even a rinse or spritz of absinthe, the drink was shaken (weird). While watching this, I also noticed that multiple bartenders were making drinks on a back area with their backs facing the guests (never good to see, personally). All in all, I was extremely sad to see such craziness and lack of responsibility in a place so new and so fine looking in aesthetic. At the end of the night (here's the "seemingly" part) when we tried to close out the tab, it was nowhere to be found, as the bartenders hadn't checked to make sure it had been swiped, and then asked us what we had ordered. Very glad we only got one drink each. Tried to find Aaron, who I'd seen there managing before when I had enjoyed my experiences, but it must have been his night off. Don't really know if I'm going to come by again. read more

I Was excited to finally see this place open! It is the Much needed ambience that our downtown needed! The place was gorgeous and the bartenders were very attentive and friendly! However they were not wearing masks! The drink menu was small but almost sufficient...I prefer to drink wine and was disappointed to see only one brand of wine and not even a decent one at that. I did have a couple of glasses of the sparkling and it was fine, my second glass came out cool/room temperature, I prefer my sparkling very chilled but I drank it anyway, it was drinkable. Ordered the Cabernet next and it was terrible, I sent it back and the server was understanding and got me something else. They did open during the worst of Covid so I'm hoping they had a limited menu due to that and hope they can expand their wines some time in the future! Overall great place! Really hope they survive this winter through these tough times. I will definitely go back to try some cocktails next time! read more
