I had this fear that the entire tooth would fall out and quickly turned to Yelp to find any dentist in the area that would be open on a Sunday. That was when I came across positive reviews for Dr. Baek at Healthy Smile Dental. Their operational hours listed was 9:00AM-3:00 on Sundays so I called at 9:01 pleading to seen. The receptionist was very kind and was able to fit me in at 10:30AM so I quickly rushed over there. They had me seated and took x-rays to show if there was any nerve damage. Dr Baek explained that there was a possibility of another filling falling out since the tooth wasn't as strong from prior fillings and the tooth next to it had a small fracture in a filling. Rather than just patching the problem up temporarily, she gave me a permanent solution that would still save my teeth from potential nerve damage and having to get a root canal down the road. She discussed getting a temporary crown and the process. Throughout the procedure she made sure to check on me and we made a follow up appointment for 3 weeks to complete the procedure. So grateful for a knowledgeable dentist that is open on Sundays!

From terrible…read moreexperiences during my time in the military to feeling like I was being ripped off from previous dentists, I was very apprehensive finding a new dentist after moving to the Chicagoland area. Ironically, before visiting Woodgroove Family Dentist I had a appointment at another dentist. I walked in and immediately left. The vibe just wasn't right. I could not be happier I made that decision! First of all, Dr. Aloor is fantastic. I enjoy the rapport with not only the Dr., but her entire team. Amanda at the front desk is always a pleasure which is saying a lot because that's my ex-wife's name lol. The feeling I get from the place is empathy. Granted, it is a smaller practice, but I think if you're looking for a flashy ambiance you're probably paying extra for that, but the office has all the modern comforts and technology you'd expect. My first visit was for a routine cleaning and to discuss veneer options. To my amazement Dr. Aloor actually does the cleaning. What doctor does that these days? You can feel the experience and confidence during the cleaning that you don't get many other places. Next, the veneer consultation. I explained to Dr. Aloor that I was interested in doing 6 veneers out of pocket and was ready to move forward. To my astonishment she told me that all I really needed was to replace an old crown and install a new crown on the adjacent tooth, and I would have the smile profile I was looking for with my insurance supplementing most of the cost. What dentist does that? She could have easily taken thousands of my hard earned dollars as I had already committed to veneers and was none the wiser. I knew at that moment I found my new dentist. Lastly, after starting the crown procedure there was an issue at the lab (not the fault of the dentist). They were able to get me in quickly to re-do the impression and give me a new temporary. I'm looking forward to my new smile! If this review comes off like a advertisement I suggest you read some of my other reviews. I'm very critical of any place I spend my money at! I'm happy that as long as I'm in this area I've found my dentist! Give them a try!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about them. From the front desk to the dental assistants & hygienists, to Dr P; everyone is SO friendly, and professional. The staff know me and my husband so well by name, they even ask about our pets! Dr P is also the kindest, most down to earth dentist I've ever met. They are easy to schedule with, and Dr P has seen me several times on short notice due to tooth chipping & a cracked tooth. They are listed as bilingual dentist- English & Polish- and I see that have a lot of Polish patients, but we are English speaking only, so don't let that stop you from coming if you aren't polish Also just in the last couple years she opened up a brand new office, and it is gorgeous! It's a modern farmhouse feel, perfectly decorated, clean, beautiful, and feels more like a spa when you walk in than a dentist office. It's worth noting that for many years we had Delta Dental, which they are IN NETWORK with, but then our insurance switched to MetLife, which APG is NOT in network with. After seeing Dr P for 10 years, I did not want to leave this practice over insurance so I had them run my MetLife OUT OF NETWORK insurance & the cost has basically been the same as when they were IN NETWORK. I had to take the time to write a review for Dr. Dave and his amazing staff!…read more I had 3 out of 4 wisdom teeth removed three years ago by a different oral surgeon in the area who came highly recommended. However, my experience with that surgeon was nothing short of terrible! At that time, the surgeon dubbed my 4th wisdom tooth "unremovable", and said it would need to be re-evaluated later to see if it could be removed. Of course, my experience with the other 3 removals was so terrible that I decided just to keep the 4th tooth, rather than go through such an awful thing again. Fast forward to a few months ago when ongoing infections make it obvious that that tooth has GOT to go. Of course, I was terrified because of what my previous oral surgeon told me. My dentist referred me to Dr. Dave, and when he told me that it would be no problem to remove that tooth, I was HIGHLY skeptical and a bit suspicious. He was totally right though! He was able to remove this "problem" wisdom tooth quickly and easily with no problems. I barely even had any pain afterward and the tooth healed quickly and without issue. What's more, Dr. Dave even called me the following day (a Saturday) just to make sure I was doing ok, something my previous surgeon never did. My only regret is that I did not go to Dr. Dave three years ago to have my initial wisdom tooth surgery. It would likely have saved me a lot of problems (and $). If you've been putting off oral surgery for any reason, don't hesitate to book it with Dr. Dave. He's great!
