Not only do they not provide a refund (as confirmed 2x with Elizabeth in customer service (not) , over the past 3 weeks) , you also have to pay for return shipping. And you will get a nasty attitude as well from Elizabeth. If you are insistent on doing business with Formalwear Outlet , note their sister store has listings on Ebay for nearly 50% less, and with free returns, and no attitudes. The parking lot and overflow were full and when we walked in it was very overwhelming with us being used to being helped right away and having an assigned person to help. Laci (I believe ) helped us at the beginning as we looked lost and overwhelmed then Ally took over and we had her full and undivided attention. Thankfully. She was very knowledgeable in fitting my son with his correct size, gave her opinion on best color to match his dates dress etc she answered all the questions we had and we felt at ease being there and having her help us. The suit side was tame compared to the dress side. We ended up buying a whole suit, vest, white shirt, 2 ties (we couldn't decide on the color) and 2 pocket chiefs. All for $275 which is less than what we paid to rent at MW. And my son will have this suit until he outgrows it. Perfect for upcoming clubs and interviews his senior year next year. I highly recommend this place for suits and dresses. I'll update my review with a picture of my son on his prom night next month! Thanks ALLY!!!

Until someone tries to hurt or disrespect my kids. My youngest is a senior in HS and I popped into town this weekend to take her dress shopping for prom. We drove to Raleigh to this place called Savvi Prom. When we walked in, we were greeted at the door warmly. The shop was full of high schoolers and their supporters; moms ,aunties, sisters, best friends, you name it. My daughter, close friend and I perused the selections and I finally convinced Smooch to try on some dresses. She was shy at first, but began to warm to the idea. This is where it went left. As I sat outside of the dressing room waiting for more dresses, my dear friend helped my daughter to zip one of the selections. One of the sales associates came up to me and asked why we were trying on dresses. As a matter of fact here's is the conversation. "What is this for?" Me: smiles, "It's for her senior prom" "What? SHE'S in high school? She looks old!" Me: (obviously irritated, but I will give grace because maybe she misspoke) "Wow, are you sure those are the exact words that you want say to me right now?" smirks, "Yeah, that's what I wanna say because she looks old! She looks older than me!' Me: How old are you? "I am 20!" Me: starting to see red ,"Is that all?" Enters second sales associate. "Wow, she's saying the exact same thing that I was thinking" They both start to giggle... Me: "Neither one of you have considered that my HIGH SCHOOL CHILD is in the dressing room listening to you. It would do you both a world of good to stop speaking to me and discussing my child" Other moms and daughters have witnessed this exchange and began to check in with my daughter and I to ensure that she is okay. My daughter emerges from the dressing room to put the dresses away and I insist that she leaves them and allow the sales girls to do their job. As we are leaving, one of the girls asks, "Were you thinking of anything else" I responded, Yes, I am thinking of leaving. I spoke with the owner, Denise, who seemed apologetic, but never made the girls apologize. I hate to do it, but we were one of few brown people in the shop. This is not what I drove here for. This is not the experience that my daughter should have had. She was hurt. She was discouraged. I wanted to act really ugly, but God. My baby is beautiful. She deserves better. Just wanted to make sure that everyone is mindful of where you spend your dollars during this season.

I still had another garment with them and when i went to pick it up i just didn't have the damaged garment with me. I never refused, he's lying. I said i needed to understand the process and what they would do (I'm nervous about it getting further damage) but he kept repeating that i refused to bring it back which never was the case. When i spoke to him he referred to using other chemicals to determine the cause of the issue and I'm not necessarily keen on them doing stuff i don't understand at this point. He wanted to overtalk me and not listen. Thats why i don't feel comfortable anymore. Why wouldn't i bring it back if that's how i get made whole? He's not making sense. I feel completely let down by these guys after using them exclusively for at least 4 years. They didn't call me back for 2 weeks after damaging a very expensive garment, insinuated that I'm making it up, and accused me of refusing to bring it back. I would've had no problem doing so had i understood the process/remedy but i don't really want them messing up my stuff even more. When talking to Brett about my apprehensions , he was very dismissive and unprofessional. He even stopped listening and it turned into a confrontation bc he would laugh at me while I'm talking as if my situation is funny. I don't feel comfortable working with him/them anymore. Since he said he doesn't care about my review, here it is.

The first occurrence was stopping by, and being ignored for a long time. When I inquired about consigning, the woman snapped that I needed an appointment to do so. Totally understandable. I called at a later time to set up at appointment, and the woman answering the phone was rude again. She barked about the having a long time before I could get at appt, and the rules about seasonal consigning. Again, fine, I figured she was busy and being direct. I set up appointment for weeks later. At the appointment, I arrived on time, and stood for a long time with an arm load of clothes being ignored. This should have been my sign to leave, but I waited. She sorted through my things, taking most, but making a comment about "Lilly Pulitzer doesn't really sell well, but we will take it." The whole interaction left me feeling very unwelcomed and weird. Again , fine, I was still willing to consign some clothes. When my time came around to pick up money, and the clothes that didn't sell, I arrived at the shop. I again was ignored for a long time. When I stood at the counter, the woman started helping me, then stopped to help another customer, then, a bridal appt. She literally walked off to deal with the appointment, never letting me know she was leaving. Finally another woman helped me, as she had a conversation with a different customer, the entire time. She handed me my money , as she talked to the other person. I collected my money, unsold clothes and left , vowing never to return. The vibe is completely off there, very tense, dark and unwelcoming. The shop even feels crowded, which would be perfect fine, if the staff was welcoming and nice. Prepare to feel like a less than intruder if you do business with them.
