Steph Fowler I happened upon when I was searching for photographers. It just so happened that she lived next door to where I used to live. I had a few meetings with other photographers, Not only was her work awesome, she was super easy to get along with, and she was really able to capture what I was looking for. She was the most personable person I had met. I think she is fantastic, along with her husband, they work as a team. He is also a trainer, so it is super convenient, he will kick your butt into shape. The two of them together are amazing, there were photos taken and I didn't even know, and it was such a surprise. Love her and her photography! My fiance and I hired her to shoot our engagement session and wedding. We were afraid that the engagement session would be super awkward, neither of us feeling entirely comfortable posing for romantic photos. Steph made us feel totally comfortable, and it's amazing how comfortable and how great we look in the photos! Her unique and artistic sense for photography is what first drew me to her over other wedding photogs. Her photos are artsy, making them far-from-boring like wedding/engagement photos could be, but not too dramatic so it doesn't take away from focus on the couple. I also love her photo editing skills -- the colors and quality of each photo really demonstrate how much time, skill, and care she puts into her work. WINNERS!!!! We were very fortunate to have won the photo session package at the La Leche League event in 2010 (Laguna Hills) with Steph Fowler. We postponed our photo session for almost 2 years (which I do not recommend), but Steph was very sweet and honored our winnings 2 yrs later. Steph is TRULY a SWEETHEART and super TALENTED. She has some major tricks up her sleeve. First of all - she has this photo location that is amazing. She calls it her "hidden gem." You need to book a photo session w/ her to find out. It's a bit far away and initially we were like, "where the heck is she sending us?" But, once you arrive and see it, you will be pleased. 2ND) We were an hour late to our photo session b/c of the stupid LA traffic. I was texting her back and forth (while my hubby was driving of course. hehe) and she didn't seem upset. She was more concerned about how our pictures would turn out if we missed the beautiful sunlight. How sweet is that. VERY PATIENT and KIND to our 2 little boys and made us feel comfortable. 3RD) LOVE her props. Simple and sweet. Helps accent the pictures 10 fold. We did bring some props ourselves to make it more "us"...and i do recommend you do that (example: our son's favorite bear that has been w/ him for years, balloons...toys). MOST IMPORTANTLY.........the photos came out SPECTACULAR! I love loved loved them. The lighting, the scenery, props. The candidness and innocence of the pictures were beautiful. I was so pleased. Steph has an amazing gift at making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. She is calm, professional and laid back during whatever project she is working on at the time. She cares about who she is shooting and took the time to really pick out a great location for the shots. The whole process is a great experience. Steph Fowler is an ARTIST!!! She photographed my wife and I for both our Engagement and Wedding photos and she is AMAZING!!! Her ideas on setting and props for the engagement shoot were spot on and the finished product was excellent! Having a destination wedding in Carmel was stressful enough but to have such a great photographer with us so far from home took away any fear of not getting those "perfect shots!" Steph was the wedding photographer for our wedding this year, she also took our engagement photos... I don't know where to start! Steph is SO sweet, SO helpful, SO patient, but most of all an amazingly talented photographer. I have her to thank for my beautiful wedding photos that I will cherish forever. We love Steph!!! She took our engagement and wedding pictures and they turned out just amazing! If there is one area to go all out at the wedding is photography, because everything else will come and go with the day, but the photos remain forever. The day of, Steph brought an assistant, Jenna. She was great, too! We don't get photographed often, so we had no idea how to pose for them. Steph gave great suggestions without being bossy and made us feel comfortable right away. We encourage everyone to have an engagement shoot with Steph before the wedding day. You won't regret it! Steph was so easy to work with! She is just such a nice person. It felt very personal just being in contact with her. We didn't have to deal with emailing her assistant or getting worried that someone else was going to handle it. It was just all done by her. We love that personal touch throughout the whole process. She was professional and accommodating. Her photos speak for themselves. Initially, a friend recommended a photographer, but they were busy. They suggested the photographer that they used for their OWN wedding. That was Steph. We really lucked out! Steph is hired to shoot the wedding of photographers :) We will definitely be contacting Steph in the future if we need a photographer. She specializes in weddings. We have photographer friends, but knowing how to shoot a wedding is a whole nother matter. Trust me! Steph was super organized. Steph was our wedding photographer for our July 2016 wedding, and she was absolutely wonderful!! First and foremost, Steph takes beautiful photos. She has an eye for lighting and framing, and a knack for capturing candid moments. We've all seen stiff, staged-looking wedding photos, and Steph masterfully avoids that stuff; she struck the perfect balance between capturing "documentary style," natural moments of our wedding, and capturing all of the more formal group/family portraits where she directed people on where to stand, where to look, etc. Second, Steph is a professional in every way. She takes her business seriously, and even though she has probably shot hundreds of weddings, it feels like she treats every wedding as a unique event. She has really nice (and very cute) promotional materials, she answers phone calls and emails promptly, and she has a professionally-drafted contract that she has you sign (it may sound odd that this is a plus, but when someone uses a professionally-drafted contract rather than a cut-and-paste document from off the internet, it inspires confidence that he or she is a legit business person). On the day of our wedding, Steph and her wonderful second-shooter, John, arrived early, gamely braved the horrible heat, and skillfully captured beautiful first-look photos, family/group portraits, ceremony photos, and reception photos. Also, Steph's turn-around time to get photos to us was really fast; I think we had to wait, like, a week to receive our engagement photos, and 3-4 weeks for our wedding photos (and she sent us a "sneak peek" of about a dozen photos two days after our wedding, just because she's wonderful). We really appreciated how diligently Steph worked and how quickly she was able to get us our photos, because we were DYING to see them! Third, Steph is incredibly sweet. She is the kind of person that you'd enjoy just hanging out with, and this sets you at ease (because, let's face it, as a bride or groom, you're stressed out to begin with, and having someone take photos of you is an awkward thing). As an example, halfway through our engagement photo shoot, we were hit with a freak rainstorm and had to run for cover - not only did Steph snap some hilarious photos of us running for cover (which turned out to be some of our favorite engagement photos), but she also offered to drive all the way out to Griffith Park a second time to finish the engagement photo shoot the following week. We found the entire wedding-planning process to be stressful and horrible in general, but we honestly felt like we lucked out in finding Steph. She went above and beyond our expectations, and we could not recommend her highly enough!! read more

Steph Fowler was highly recommended to me. I took a chance and am glad i did. Her photography in general blew me away. It was refreshing to see a photographer so creative and who takes chances. Her wedding, head shots, and children photos are amazing. She also has photos that are definitely not mainstream. After blindly contacting a couple of photographers in southern California, my fiance and I were referred to Steph just a couple of weeks prior to the date of our civil service ceremony in Orange County. Luck was on our side as she happened to be available to take our photographs during and after the ceremony at a nearby park. We were traveling from the southeast and were unfamiliar with potential photo shoot locations. She went above and beyond to reach out to her local friends for location recommendations and, once we agreed on a spot (the nearby park), she even scouted the location beforehand to ensure it would provide the right kind of backdrop, lighting, and scenery. She has a knack for making you feel comfortable during the shoot, so you're guaranteed to end up with photos in which you look natural--not posed or staged. We ended up with a great mix of color and B&W photos, and couldn't be more impressed with her artistic talent and professionalism. read more
