Despite being at the correct dose (per *some* bloodwork), I was regularly cold, sometimes anxious, quick to go from not hungry to starving, and sometimes lethargic (despite living a very active lifestyle). After just two appointments with Dr. Simms and additional biometric (blood and saliva) testing, we both came to the conclusion that not only was I working against my thyroid by way of the foods that I was eating, but I was also suffering from iron and vitamin D deficiency. Additionally, I had moderate hormonal imbalances. These weren't far-fetched, non-Western conclusion, but founded in more accurate interpretations and more complete biometrics. The "prescription" was a variety of supplements to address deficiencies and excesses. I appreciate that Dr. Simms did not push me to buy the supplements offered at her clinic, as this would have been a turn-off for me. Through some research, I was able to meet my nutritional and supplements needs in an affordable way. I have not yet had my biometrics re-run, but I know that I am better off. I sleep better, feel better (mood and energy), am no longer cold, and more relaxed. I highly recommend arranging for a consultation with her and bring any existing blood work results to support your discussion. Though she was not covered by my insurance, she was well-worth the cost. And, I was able to pay for my bills with my medical savings account.

Our first appointment was virtual and I found her to be very attentive and engaging. She allowed ample time to discuss my concerns and objectives where my health was concerned. She was able to set up a protocol which included supplements, diet & exercise. Along the way, I have found her to be available to me for any questions and concerns that I may have had and has always replied in a very timely fashion. Today marks one month exactly since I've been on the regimen and I am so pleased to say that my symptoms have improved tremendously! She truly cares about helping her patients resolve their issues and attain optimal health. If you are in search of a highly qualified and knowledgeable doctor to address your WHOLE health, I strongly recommend Dr. Simms.

Dr. Anders is extraordinary! She takes the time to get to know you and will push you to take care…read moreof your mental health. She is also incredibly accommodating. I called her 20 minutes before an appointment to reschedule because of a major hold-up on the Red Line and she called me back offering to have our appointment over the phone. I have never known another psychiatrist willing to do that, and it made my afternoon much less stressful. If you are looking for a psychiatrist, I would absolutely recommend her!

I would stay away from this psychiatrist for the following very important reasons…read more First, this physician's practice is professionally irresponsible. Specifically, after accepting me as a patient, this doctor replaced one of my medications with a new psychotropic medication in an effort to address my concerns regarding weight gain. Shortly after prescribing this new medication, this doctor dropped me as her patient (via email), leaving me without the necessary medical oversight needed to monitor this new drug's side effects. Because of this, it is possible that this drug is negatively effecting my body's functioning and/or causing harm. According to the American Medical Association, "[patient] abandonment is defined as the termination of a professional relationship...at an unreasonable time and without giving the patient the chance to find an equallly qualified replacement." The doctor is guilty of this because she abruptly, with no warning, terminated care at a crucial moment in the patient's care. Since this physician dropped me as her patient via email, I have called numerous psychiatrists in an effort to secure treatment. But because they are not accepting either new patients or my insurance and/or because they are not available for a new consult for as many as two-to-three months, I am still without a psychiatrist to monitor this drug's effects. I also recommend staying away from this doctor because this doctor consistently and repeatedly charged me service fees before she even ever provided the services. This is at least unethical, if not illegal. This doctor is also not fully knowledgeable or aware of the numerous psychotropic medications that exist for the treatment of the full spectrum of mental health disorders. This by itself wouldn't be so alarming (since new medications and treatment options are being developed all of the time, requiring a regular updating of one's knowledge base); but, here, instead of doing research or trying to educate herself about a new medication option, she chose to deny the option all together. At a minimum, this resulted in a lost opportunity for possible successful treatment. This lost opportunity in turn likely resulted in more suffering, unnecessarily over a longer period of time. Any treatment provided by a physician who does not work to learn about treatment options before dismissing them is, at a minimum, limited and maybe even uninformed and/or ill-informed. Scary.
