I choose Stephanie Brick as my makeup artist for my wedding last year. First, i must say that I've been friends with Stephanie for many years but that had nothing to do with my decision to book her. I checked out prices and work of a couple of other artists and Stephanie was by far the best price for the level of work. Once i booked her she got an idea of what look I was going for and I sent her some pictures of ideas and styles I had. She asked about my skin tone, my skin type, color palette, etc. Next we set an appointment for the trial run. She came to my house with all her supplies in tow and worked through some of the looks we discussed. She tried out different colors for lips, cheeks, and foundation and then did my full make up to show me what I could look forward to based on my specifications. She took lots of pictures and was very attentive to my wants and needs. The day of my wedding came and she arrived early. Her kit and supplies were even more extensive than the trial but she was super organized. We also planned for her to do makeup for my bridesmaids. She had the timing figured out and knew exactly how much time she could spend on each person. Everyone looked flawless and my bridesmaids were thrilled that they didn't have to worry about doing their own makeup the day of. While, she did different looks for each person she also maybe everyone mesh and used color tones that complimented the dress colors and wedding theme. She did my makeup up in waves, allowing me to spend time with my bridal party and left plenty of time for me to get dressed. Once everyone was ready to go she went back and touched up anything she felt needed a second look. I was more than happy with my own make up. I wear make up daily but not a lot and was very adamant about looking beautiful but not fake. I wanted to look great but still like myself. She achieved this flawlessly. The best part about having Stephanie as my make up artist was that she was professional but not stiff. She was fun to have around while we are getting ready and really made the experience stress free and easy, which every bride should covet on their already stress-ridden wedding day. Stephanie really knows her stuff. She has the best products and her brushes and kit was clean and organized. I could tell she prepared specifically for my event and that made me feel special and resulted in beautiful make up on not just me but the girls that stood beside me in my big day. She gave me great tips and pointers for everyday makeup wear in the process and was just all around awesome. She tailored her tools and skills to execute what I asked for, not just what she thought was best, which made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I can not say enough good things about Stephanie! First off, she is the ultimate eyelash saver. The first time I came to see her my eyelash extensions were a COMPLETE mess. I had gone to a much cheaper spa and learned the hard way you get what you pay for. My eyelashes were damaged and had 2 cheap extensions hanging on. Stephanie spent 2 and a half hours making sure my lashes looked amazing and that I got the look I wanted ! I also had my make up done by her and it looked INCREDIBLE. Now, besides being awesome at what she does, she is an awesome person, very sweet and easy to talk to. She's a great self confidence booster and has tons of beauty tips. I have never met such a wonderful and talented person. She loves what she does and will give you tips that will make you feel so beautiful. This is the girl to have for all of your makeup needs! You will not be disappointed! She's absolutely perfect. I've always had trouble figuring out how to highlight and contour but Stephanie helped me and now I have it down and can get my makeup done so quickly. Oh and talk about eyebrows! They are always fabulous! She also helped me with my lips as well. I've always had a small upper lip and she taught me how to over draw my lip ever so much to make my lips so lovely! Stephanie is an amazing makeup artist and a fantastic teacher to boot! She has done both hair and makeup for collaborations with a shop that I manage on South Main called Red Velvet Vintage, and the styling is spot on for the retro and pin up styles that we carry. She's definitely got the perfect touch for creating that glamorous vintage look. Also, her instructional videos on YouTube attest to her skills as a teacher. I've learned so much from her tutorials - everything from how to create that perfect pinup brow to how to apply makeup for eyeglasses. Stephanie did my wedding make up (and trial before the wedding), and she was great! I am very glad we did a trial, as it helped me figure out exactly the style of make up that I wanted. Stephanie is amazing!! She did my make up for my cousin's wedding 2 years before mine and I was blown away by her work. Stephanie is amazing! I'm very picky about my lashes. Her appts allow for plenty of time to get them to their fullest! I was nervous to go to someone new, but no regrets here!
