At that time, I explained that I was having gastrointestinal issues since November 2025 that was not improving. A colonoscopy request was submitted and scheduled for September 25, 2026. On August 25, 2026, I left a message requesting an appointment as my stomach pain had sharply increased. I called back on August 26, 2026 and was told the next available appointment was October 2026. I called back and asked if anyone could see me sooner, if there was a cancellation list,I could be on as I was unable to eat due to severe nausea and had lost 8 pounds since Monday. I was told no one could see me until October. On August 27, 2026, I was admitted into hospital through the emergency department at Lees Summit Medical Center. Before being discharged from the hospital, I requested help with a follow-up appointment. The case worker was able to make an appointment for September 8, 2026 at 10:30 am with Dr Beck. I arrived at my appointment with Dr Beck on September 8th at 9:45 am for my 10:30 am appointment. I waited in an empty waiting room until 11:01 am. At no time was I given any reason why I continued to wait 30 minutes after my appointment. I left without any medical follow-up. So if you want zero medical help so you have to go to emergency room - this is your practice !

I was truly heartbroken when she moved to urgent care a few years ago because of family obligations. Since that time I moved around the Olathe Health Systems and really wasn't happy with the doctors. In and out, push the patient through, no concern for the overall person, and no review of the overall medical profile. I decided to move my primary care to KU where I see specialists in other fields in order to help keep my files together and in hopes of overall more cohesive care. When I first visited Doctor Polsak to establish as a patient, I was not prepared for how the visit would go. Doctor Polsak came in the room well versed on my health history. I was impressed that she took the time to review my files so she was prepared with what questions she needed to ask and how to best serve me as a primary doctor. She was very thorough in reviewing my medical history, any needs of mine, and took the time to get to know me as a person. Based on the past few years with OHS, I was blown away. This was the care I was missing since my long time primary care doctor left. While not excited for doctor appointments, I am excited to have a PCP that truly cares for her patients. Then told I have to go back to 135th St. to get anything taken care of!

The waiting area is large with plenty of room to spread out. An aquarium, kids tables, books and TV is available while you wait. She does a thorough job with examinations and informs you of what to expect. She takes the time to explain milestones and prepares you as your child grows into new stages of development.

Our five month old son woke up at 2am with raspy, strained breathing that sounded so scary. We went to urgent care right when they opened, checked in, and were seen within 45 minutes. (There were about five families in front of us that had checked in first, but we got seen before them because we had a baby under a year old that was having breathing problems.) Once they checked his weight, oxygen levels, and heart rate, they sped up the process since it seemed serious. Within minutes there were three wonderful nurses and NPs who were helping us out and wasting no time... They gave him Tylenol for his fever, an oxygen treatment for his breathing, and a steroid for his lungs. There was a night and day difference in his breathing after the breathing treatment. Praise the Lord for modern medicine and treatments like this. It is so scary when your baby is sick and struggling to breathe, and the fact that they immediately took him under their wing was so comforting. They also took the time to educate my husband and I on what the illness was, and how to continue treating it when we got home. (We're first-time parents so this was greatly appreciated.) I'm so thankful that this was our first experience at a children's urgent care...especially during a time that felt so scary and unknown. To the team at Children's Mercy: THANK YOU!!! You are doing tough, tiresome, momentous work--and I'm sure you see what seems like a million kids during cold and flu season--but know that your efforts and kindness are SEEN and SO appreciated. The typical urgent care gripes are definitely present... long waits and some less-than-enthused receptionists BUT the care from nurses and doctors has always been 10/10.
