I signed up with State Farm and had a great experience with Tiffany during the onboarding process. Everything was smooth and I paid in full. The one thing that was never mentioned was the Drive Safe app or the tracker that comes with the policy. I didn't know anything about this until I received a bill for not setting it up. When the tracker arrived in the mail, I had no idea what it was for. I sent two texts, an email, and left a voicemail to get clarification, but never heard back. The next thing I received was a notice saying I had a past-due balance of $113 for not activating the device. I emailed again and finally got a response. I was told the tracker should have been discussed on our call and that my earlier messages were missed, which you can see in the attached screenshot. Even with that acknowledgment, no accountability was taken. I asked to have the charge removed, explained I would install the tracker, and was told the correction and refund would be handled. I thought everything was resolved, but today I received another message saying I now owe $50 for the time I was not covered. This had never been mentioned until now. It has been surprising to see how quickly the communication changed after signing up. What started as great service has become difficult to sort out. Because of this experience, I do not plan to renew my policy when the term ends unless this situation can be resolved as promised. read more

They couldn't find paperwork we already submitted. I've been trying to transfer my personal articles policy from an out of state branch and am still waiting to hear after speaking with them 3 times. Moved to Colorado and called to find out about changing from my agent in Illinois. Bryan became my new agent. I gave the basic info on the phone for an appt. In the office I arrived early and waited very briefly but was offered coffee. We thoroughly discussed all my options for rental, auto coverage and umbrella. Rates were within a few dollars of my IL rates and we decided to change part of my coverage to a $0 deductible for only a few bucks more to cover windshields. Smart decision I'll definitely get my monies worth vs paying $250 for a windshield replacement. I had to stop back in on another day and made a same day appt. Another great experience. Every detail was explained and all my questions were answered. I know State Farm costs more than many other insurers. Insurance is more than just covering an asset. It's covering your a** also. It's making sure you have someone that will help you when the worst happens. A lot of complainers will likely have a tough time with every company. Imagine being sued by your insurance company and having to file bankruptcy because your fly-by-night carrier is so shady. Fortunately that didn't happen to me! read more

After interacting with this office I realized it was the agent I had in Texas that was no longer meeting the State Farm standard. My negative review is directed at State Farm rather than the particular person I worked with because I'm not sure who's responsible for the bait & switch quote. My auto insurance with GEICO renewed last month and the hike in premium was large through no fault of my own. I realize that the hail storm a year ago was the largest insurable event in Colorado's history, over 1 billion in claims. However I drive a 13yr old truck and I didn't think it should cost 1k/6 months to insure, especially since i live .5 miles from work and bike or walk. I decided to shop around and live around the corner from this office. I went in for an auto quote and it led to a discussion about multiple line discounts; renters' insurance on my apartment in Denver and coverage on a house in the mountains. She had a pending appointment and I'd just walked in but the initial estimates looked good so I made an appointment for the following week. Last week we sat down for an hour and went through all the policies and premiums. Sandra did a great job explaining the different levels of coverage and an umbrella policy. I also have an old car, 1984, that logs maybe 100 miles a year. We went through options including antique coverage. Also, State Farm has created a policy for second homes that was of interest to me since I have a house on short term rental in the mountains. I was prepared to move 2 auto policies, my renter's insurance in Denver, a policy on a house in Summit and purchase an umbrella policy. Today I went in with my checkbook to sign all the paperwork. The system didn't recognize my driver's license number; we figured out there was a digit off, x996 vs x966. Was this an honest mistake? I don't know. However, when she corrected my DL # the premium went from ~ $700 every six months to 2k. WTF! Yes I had a speeding ticket 2.5 years ago and a fender bender with an unoccupied vehicle in a parking lot 2 years ago. However that information was in State Farm's system when the quote was given to me two weeks ago. This killed the deal. Why am I pissed off? Because I have better things to do with my time @ 4pm after work than sit in an insurance agent's office, like napping. We would never have had the follow up appointments had State Farm given me an accurate quote on the front end and I feel like the whole process was disingenuous. read more

We have been extremely disappointed with Stephanie Sponder's agency and do not recommend. We have been customers for over five years and have four homes and three cars insured with them. All is fine, they are happy to take your money unless you need something adjusted --then don't plan on hearing from them, and if you do, plan to wait months to see any changes implemented. Note to self that you'll have to follow-up with them several times along the way. If you think they will advise you on ways to maximize insurance or save money, don't look for them to help you here either. But they'll raise your rates without explanation. It's been very difficult to get them to respond to repeated queries and requests--and lately we hardly hear from the same person more than once or twice. Save yourself a lot of frustration and headaches and find a better agent. This is what we are doing. read more

Sadly, I see that what happened to me has happened to other people that have worked with this office. I switched from AllState to StateFarm because they offered me a great quote (around 189dol per month). I cancelled my AllState account, switched to State Farm, and a couple of weeks later, I received a letter from them saying they were going to cancel my insurance. When I called them, they said they could keep me as a client if I would pay 110dol more per month!!!! from 189dol to 310dol.. I asked them how was that possible and they said their system sometimes makes mistakes. (My credit score is above 760, my driving record only has 1 speeding ticket in the last 3 years). When I called AllState back, of course their quote was higher than what I used to pay before I switched to StateFarm. In other words, these people made me lose money, and all they said was: "I'm sorry, I don't know what happened". Horrible experience. read more

My wife and I carried auto (and renter's for a time) insurance with State Farm and Stephanie's office from the time we moved to Denver in 2011 until just recently. It was our fault for not looking into competitor rates sooner, but I am glad we did. We were able to cut our auto insurance premiums by 50% for the exact same coverage by going with Ameriprise. 50%?! Makes me mad to think of all the money we've been wasting with State Farm. Literally $900/year. The real reason for the 1 star review is what happened when we requested a cancellation of our auto policy. My wife emailed Stephanie's office indicating we would like to cancel our policy when it expires in a month. I called State Farm about a week later just to make sure they had our cancellation information correct. The phone rep and the office both made mistakes that could have been devastating. The office made a mistake and canceled the policy on one of our vehicles immediately. The phone rep did not catch that mistake when I called to verify cancellation on the correct day. Had I not received a letter from State Farm in the mail indicating the effective date of our policy cancellation, I would have never known. Due to their error, my wife and I were driving for a week WITH NO INSURANCE COVERAGE. When I learned of this negligence I was even happier we made the switch. read more

In October 2014, I renewed my policy with this State Farm Office. My car insurance policy from May 2014 - October 2014 had been a complete mess, in which I had to pay the Illinois office a higher insurance rate for my policy. My car insurance was never switched over until renewing my policy in October. In October, while paying for my car insurance, the Denver office told me that I owed the Illinois office for a check that they had sent me in the sum of $288. I had not received a check from the Illinois office at all. I told the underwriter that I had a statement showing that the Denver office had sent me a check for $188. Once again the Denver office tried to put the blame on computer glitches and the Illinois office. In November, I went again to pay my car insurance in person, in which the Denver office told me that they would contact Accounting to figure out what went wrong again and how much I "really" owed the Illinois office and for what. Recently, 12/5/14, I went to the Denver office to try and resolve the issue. I was told by the Denver office that I owed $188.00 for the check they had sent me. The check of $188 I had received, I thought, had been the difference from paying the higher insurance rate in Illinois. So, I owe $188.00 plus $144.00 for September. I showed the underwriter proof that I owe nothing for September. I had been told that my policy was paid in full until the renewal (Oct. 14') and had the document (not a bill) clearly showing that nothing was owed for September. The underwriter said "She was sorry, that they had made the mistake" and that the document I have as proof was "a mistake." Thus, this office has continued to mismanage my account since May and is now trying to collect back insurance. The proof that I owed nothing for September was completely disregarded by the underwriter. Furthermore, I have asked on several occasions for emails to be sent explaining what Denver office was doing to resolve the issue and updates about the billing concerns. I told the underwriter to email me, in which case she has called me every time. The underwriter has been doing this, it seems, to avoid having a paper trail of their mistakes, bogus claims, and demand of repayment. I have asked again for a statement in writing of why and how I owe $188.00 and $144.00 when I have prove disproving these claims. In closing, my agent has not offered to help resolve the issue or tried to communicate with me to explain these bogus claims. Once again, this Denver office -State Farm - took no responsibility for their mistakes, and instead blamed another...accounting, the computer system, the Illinois office. read more

I switched to this agency as they said they could beat competitors rates. 6 months after switching they raised my monthly premium 133% (over $160 per month) with no explanation other than rates in Denver rates have increased. American Family was extremely helpful and I was able to get locked in at lower rates than State Farm gave me before the increase. read more

This is an updated review, while they are good at closing the sale when there is nothing in their interest they dispose of you like yesterday coffee grinds. The sad thing is that this happened to me now twice. The first time, they did not try to educate me on the right coverage and my car got totaled and I was left to deal with the other insurance company on my own. The second time is much worse, to my fault I did not change coverage and I got stung again. However, this time I asked for a reference and they had no one. The staff is not empowered and weak. Stay away from this agent unless you like being left to fend for yourself. read more

Clueless of how to begin the process, I called and was provided with all the information needed to get everything transferred with all possible discounts I could receive. Update: Still no news. Our car insurance is still in Illinois. My husbands mom has to take care of it with the Illinois office. Every time the Illinois office calls the Denver office no one seems to know anything and they can't get hold of Stephanie. They always talk to someone called Dave. Last time we visited Stephanie's office and one of her assistants printed us a temporary insurance card, since we were going on a vacation. However, when the IL office called them, this "Dave" told them that we don't have insurance in Denver, it's still under IL, so the printed card wouldn't have worked. Illinois office also said that it shouldn't take anyone over 3 months to move an insurance plan from one state to another. So we are still paying the more expensive Illinois insurance and still get no update and information about the credits we are supposed to have after paying more expensive insurance for months. Even our home insurance doesn't seem to go smoothly, but that's the smallest of our problems. It's stressful having to try to figure out what's going on with our car insurance and if we have a car insurance or not... This is not how insurance is supposed to work!!! It's supposed to be easy, care free, sign a paper type of thing. It shouldn't have to require my and my husbands time and energy here in Denver, my husbands moms time and energy in Illinois and the assistance of that other office in Illinois. I am very confused of this all. I was supposed to be copied to every e-mail sent from the office, but haven't received anything. Should have requested e-mail only communication in the first place so we would have written proof of everything that was promised. read more

I have experienced this office not returning my calls for days in regards to getting a simple piece of information Issuing me coverage that I wasnt even eligible for. I've been with State Farm for 17 years (Yes, since I was 16). I had to transfer to another agent because our family agent retired. Since I have been here I have experienced terrible customer service, specifically, the quality of response of this office. For an office with two "Office Reps" (The people who really do the quotes) AND an Agent who I have never even met or spoken to because she is never in the Office, getting back to me has been like pulling teeth. Apparently no one can ever take a call or respond back in a timely manner. Here is our experience: 1) We purchased a new car in August of 2015 and had to transfer our insurance to the new car. Called the office and spoke to Kristen. Said she would call us back with the new cost. Fast forward THREE days and NOTHING. So I call back and ask where is the quote. She asks for the information again and says she'll call back. I tell her no, I'll wait on the line for the quote now. Finally resolved. 2) We are building a new house and asked for a quote from both Kristen and, I believe, Katie, for home insurance in August of 2015. Fast forward November 2015 and we have YET to hear back. Have called back 3 times asking for an update and always the "We'll get back to you." 3) My spouse called the office requesting our renters insurance because the corporation that we lease through required renters insurance. Called and requested this in October 2015 and got the "We'll send it to you." THREE weeks later and 4 phone calls, we had to tell the reps that we would wait for them to fax it while we were on the phone with them so they would actually do it. We nearly lost our lease because it took them so long to type our name in and pull up our policy. 4) November 2015. Call to ask how much to add another car to our policy. First time, Kristen is busy, so she'll call us back. She calls back and I give her the information. And, you guessed it, I had to call back AGAIN to ask where that quote was. Needless to say, we will be leaving this Agent to go to another State Farm Agent. There are FAR better responsive agents and ones with less staff that actually respond to you and/or in the office to take calls. With SO many people in this office, you would think they customer service would be stellar, when really it's sub-par. read more

My requests were for personal article policy went unaddressed before denial for 3 months. Changes to umbrella policy took 5 months. Platitudes abound. Real service completely absent. read more

Have stuck with this insurer out of shear necessity. Simple tasks aren't finished promptly or correctly. Staff acts like you , the customer, are at fault when it is they who have made a mistake--rude and unpleasant. Scheduled a meeting with Stephanie to discuss end of life issues. She cancelled at last minute and had me meet with another employee to discuss my medical history as people walked in and out of office. This is a clear violation of how medical information should be handled. She is old enough to know this. Should have turned her in for violating HIPPA rules. Don't let this thoughtless, greedy agent near any of your private information. She is careless to the extreme. read more

We have been with State Farm for over 50 years and have received quality service. Stephanie Sponder is the most disgusting agent ever! Our policy was dated May 21, 2015 and we are still waiting to receive the correct premium amount, the booklet on the policy, etc. We have placed over 15 phone calls and emails which have never been returned. Further, there were many falsehoods from Stephanie and her staff. We finally had to go to the corporate office for a prompt resolution. Service is NOT Stephanie Sponder's office policy.
