It's always difficult to find a new dentist office that you really like. Dr. Maurer was so friendly and welcoming that I felt comfortable immediately. I went in for a routine cleaning followed by an exam. They were extremely thorough and you could tell that they actually care about their patients. Every single person -- from the doctor to the nurses to the front desk staff -- is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and professional. I've never felt so genuinely cared for. Before coming to JP Dental, I struggled to find a single photo of myself smiling with my teeth. I was ashamed of my smile for so long. But now, you can't find a photo where I'm not smiling. I finally feel confident -- and proud -- to show off my teeth. I traveled from out of state to have my dental work done here, and it was absolutely worth every mile. I call the insurance company and they say Grand Dental did not send required paperwork. I relayed the information to Grand Dental, they said they would resubmit the claim, I get another bill, I call again and insurance says, they didn't send the right paperwork. I have asked for my entire chart to get it sent and I have yet to receive it. I called again today and was told the release forms are on the website and they are NOT on the website, I got hung up on during a call to cancel and get the right paperwork. Don't go here if you have insurance and want it billed to insurance, they will drop the ball.

My dissatisfaction from this practice arises from my experience as a new patient and a procedure…read morewhich I had not experienced in prior initial dental visits called a digital image scan. I understood xrays would be taken and then an evaluation by a dentist and a cleaning. Once xrays were taken the hygienist began to perform the digital scan, but I stopped to inquire as to whether it was covered by my insurance , the hygienist stopped the procedure and left to ascertain insurance coverage, came back several minutes later saying they couldn't reach aetna but it should be covered and would submit the bill, at that time I indicated it would be an issue if not covered. So I received a statement from Aetna saying I owed 0 for the visit, but also received a $30 bill direct from Created Oak. I contacted Aetna who conferenced in Crested Oak, and here is where things began to get convoluted : - Crested Oak indicated they had submitted the wrong code to Aetna and it was denied, however Aetna refuted that . Later I get a call from Created Oak saying they would resubmit the bill, they also claimed that when I scheduled the visit I had been told about the digital scan - completely false. - Created Oak also put in the visit notes that the hygienist had informed me of the digital scan prior to starting myvisit - completely false. - A hour later Created Oak calls me saying they would cancel my next schedule cleaning because they said their doctors didn't want to work with me as I had compromised trust. In conclusion IMO it was Created Oak that I felt should not be trusted as they performed a procedure that I had not consented to and them they came up with very questionable and conflicting information around the whole incident. The bill they sent was small $30 . but a matter of principal.

I should have known better. I am still trying to correct all the poor work they did. Their " mini fillings" were interesting on XRAY as are they squared edged fillings. It has cost me a fortune correcting their terrible work. They just want your money and have no pride in doing the right thing or doing the job well.

Since the pain kept coming and going I decided to hold off doing anything until the next week -- that is, until Friday when the pain started to be explosive. Then, I was ready to take action! The problem is that all dental and endodontics offices are closed on Friday. I called the emergency number for the doctor and shortly after Dr Clark called me back and told me to meet her at noon. I felt terrible about interfering with her day off but she couldn't have been more accommodating. When I arrived, Dr Clark whisked me into the office and took care of me in a wonderfully pain-free manner. Since she was alone, she did not to do the entire root canal but just did the part of the procedure that would alleviate the pain. I am the biggest baby when it comes to dental work. Dr. Clark's manner was reassuring and she took care of me. People, if you need an endodontist, she's the one to see. In addition to her expertise, she is a sweet upbeat gal who I wouldn't mind having a cuppa coffee with! I wholeheartedly recommend her. I go back on Monday to get the procedure finished and I know I'm going to bring her some kind of gift. How many people want to give a present to an endodontist??? That's how good she is.
