This park is so beautiful, and then to have the treat of the elk right in front of us was amazing. It is so awesome how they just live among the people here in the community. Nobody bothers them, and they don't bother anyone. It's a beautiful thing. They are so majestic. I literally could've sat there for hours just watching them, but my granddaughter wanted to feed the ducks. Unfortunately, there weren't really any to feed. Another thing I wanna mention is the bathrooms here are so clean, not something you always find at a park. This is a great place to go to have a picnic and spend some family time. It was just me and a couple people fishing on the other side of the lake. I was basically by myself and it was heaven. It is $5.00 for a car to get in, no exceptions. When you drive up you will see the tree art, so cool. The sandy area by the lake was clean, no trash. Spots where you park have a picnic bench, perfect place to sit for a nice lunch or dinner. The website states there is no swimming, or activity involving bodily contact with the water. Brite Valley aquatic provides the greater Tehachapi area with domestic and agriculture water supplies. There is a pavilion that can be rented out for parties. $75 a day and $75 cleaning deposit. That includes entry fee for up to 25 vehicles. You will need to book 2 weeks in advance, call the TVRPD district office at 661-822-3228 Great place to have a kids party, playground right next to tables. There is a camp host when you pull up and you will pay them, if they are not in the shack you still need to pay through the drop box.

Just recently we came and a group of young adults had barricaded the parking lot with branches and logs so others would think it was closed. The falls need major trash pick up. We will do our part and keep it clean for others to enjoy but as for others they need to do the same or this beautiful place will disappear.

The entire park is covered in USA flags and it is always an awe inspiring sight. The day of ceremony always draws a large crowd. I took the family dog on a walk the night before to avoid the heat and enjoy the sight. It was nice to have a quieter moment to soak in the flags. It's also good to see families and friends gather at this awesome local park. It's nice to see the the park is being reinvested in with the playground currently under construction to bring in new equipment. I'll have to post some pictures of the structure once it's done!

My best friend and I took a break from studying so that we can go for a walk here. Honestly, this park is so nice and I wouldn't mind laying out a blanket on the grass and reading under a tree. It was a refreshing place to relax our minds. I loved seeing the ducks and geese wading in the water. For the most part, the park is kept clean but it makes me sad to see garbage accumulate where the animals swim.

We tried the breakfast burrito and it was okay, not anything great. That's not surprising. The boat was decent, not rundown or dirty. Just getting a little older. Bathrooms were available on board. Service was good. We saw some finback whales, a sun fish and a lot of dolphins. It was pretty overcast and gray when we started. But the sun came out eventually.
