Dr. Felder suggested that I come by his office for a free consultation. I was still wary, but I made the appointment. Dr. Felder confirmed the diagnosis and offered to perform the root canal right then. I agreed. He had very gentle hands, finished the procedure in an hour, and did it to perfection. No high spots. Fortunately, he referred me to Dr. Bell. From the moment I walked into the office, there was a feeling of serenity and hospitality. I was seen very close to my appointment time and the assistant did a very thorough intake, including several imaging studies. Dr. Bell explained everything in detail and answered all my questions. This man is absolutely brilliant and it was obvious from the moment he began describing the procedure and the options. Dr. Bell did a few painless injections of local anesthetics and then the procedure itself was completely pain free. After hearing such horror stories of how painful a root canal procedure could be, I was apprehensive. But it was totally unwarranted; I felt absolutely nothing during the procedure. The entire evolution was very efficient and professional and I was completely at ease. I was stunned at how uneventful and painless the entire procedure turned out to be. My point in writing this: don't delay an indicated root canal because of dental phobia. The longer you wait, the more likely the dental issue will progress. This is the place to go; they will take exceptional care of you if my experience was any indication of the incredibly professional and efficient practice at the Pensacola Center for Endodontics. Six months later, I get an additional bill claiming 90 days past due (1st bill I received) and the bill said insurance did not cover all of the necessary procedures. If everything was pre-approved, what changed? It appears like there were several add ons to the bill that may or may not have been included in the original cost discussion with the insurance. (My coverage did not change). I was never informed that additional procedures were necessary during or after the procedure that would increase costs. Was this a Bait and switch? Makes me wonder.
