My 9 month old daughter attended kiddie academy for only 5 days before we unenrolled her…read more On her second day of care, I sent a detailed email outlining her nap schedule, signs of tiredness, and specific meal instructions because I could already see from the live camera feed that her cues were being ignored. That same night, I also emailed about her having consumed only 7 oz total all day despite being offered her bottles, which is completely out of character for her. We scheduled a meeting for the next morning (her third day) to address these concerns. During that meeting, we explained that while we understood the transition period, it was clear the detailed paperwork we completed was not being reviewed or followed. It became obvious to us that the teachers were used to doing things their own way despite clear instructions and were not accustomed to parents stepping in when they noticed something was off. We also emphasized that timely communication was critical. If she was not eating, napping, or following her normal patterns, we needed to be told immediately because it could signal something was wrong. The owner (Jay) tried to frame it as "transitioning" or "separation anxiety," but our main concern was that her needs and schedule were not being prioritized. It took repeating ourselves and even showing up to pick up our daughter right after our meeting, because they didn't follow through with what we said, before we saw any attempt to follow our instructions. On top of that, one morning we received a call asking if our baby might be hungry because they thought she was showing signs. This was extremely irritating because in her drop-off notes that morning, I wrote that she last ate at 6:20 AM, and the call came around 10:20 AM. According to our paperwork, she eats every 3 to 4 hours, so of course she was hungry. In the same call, they asked if it was okay to try another nap because she had woken up quickly and still seemed sleepy. If she still seemed tired and did not sleep, obviously it was fine to try again. It was baffling to see them operate "by the book" as if all babies function on set times, yet they also failed to read or apply the instructions we provided. This raised serious red flags about their ability to read and respond to cues, think on the fly, and actually learn a child's unique needs. When I expressed my concerns, Ms. Brandy responded, "I don't think there's miscommunication, we just want to make sure you're pleased," in a tone that came across as rude and condescending. By the end of her first week, she developed Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease, confirmed by urgent care. She had visible sores on her fingers and chin during the day, yet no one notified us at drop-off, pick-up, or during care. Combined with the earlier eating concerns, this raises serious questions about their attentiveness, sanitation protocols, and overall health safety practices. The owner, Jay, is eager to emphasize that his daycare is great, but when you can see the opposite on the camera feed, it does not line up. On top of that, Jenna rushes through the tour and talks extremely fast, which should have been a red flag for us. For these reasons, I do not at all recommend Kiddie Academy. Keep a good eye on your babies and don't just take their word for anything!!!! Also editing to add: I sent my unenrollment email, which included notifying them that my child had Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease and clearly outlining all the reasons we were stepping away from the daycare. I received no reply at all, yet I checked if the camera system still was active to tell me if they saw my email and they sure did! Given the urgency of that information, their lack of response says a lot about their priorities and reinforces the communication issues we experienced throughout our short time there.

From the ladies at the front desk (even through change/new hires), to ALL the teachers, this place has relieved any and all stress about our daughter's development and learning. She loves going to class, all the teachers welcome EVERY KID everyday. You're able to "checkin" via a live stream video which is awesome when you're missing your nugget. Our daughter has learned SO MUCH and comes home with new knowledge everyday. They communicate extremely well and always provide necessary info. Calendars to help keep you up-to-date, reach out and alert you of any changes made (even daily meals which may be overkill but, I'm for it!). We are planning on another kid in the coming year and they will 100% be going to Kiddie Academy - Katy West. Thank you to this staff!

The teachers and the director were super nice and great during enrollment and the entire time my son was there. They made our start and abrupt stop very easing and we're very understanding and accommodating to our needs. It was the first time my son (4) had been in anything cause, you know, Covid. He was terrified of everything and having the camera to let me check in eased my mind a lot. His teachers helped calm him each morning and let him sit and do puzzles as his classmates trickled in. I do agree with a previous commenter that there aren't a lot of obvious Covid protocols in place. The kids did not wear masks, though my son does everywhere else, and they only washed hands and tables right before eating. They sit and sleep right next to each other and share just about everything. My biggest regret was that there was little to no free time or open center time for the kids. Everything was very structured from the product-art that his teacher obviously did or corrected to three/4 circle times and lots of table activities. He went outside once during his time there. Even if it's hot, kids need at least 15 mins outside a day to just move. Our plan was to send him there for socialization but he barely had time to do that. They provided food and snack but did not let me know if he ate anything or not. When I questioned him, he couldn't give me an answer either. They have a letter they send home but it's a generic one that has nothing to do with a specific lesson or activity or your child for that day. It was the same one for the whole week and pointless. Works for older kids, perhaps, but I sent more detailed ones when I worked in Early Education and even as a fourth grade teacher. Overall, it wasn't what I was expecting but it wasn't bad. We pulled my son out cause he got sick a week and a half in. It was a regular cold from new, preschool germs, but with Covid on the rise again, we just pulled him for at home care.

When we went to visit she greeting us with smile as the Assistant Director took us around. Ms. Navalon, Ms Claudia, Ms. Safia, Ms Alice, and Ms Carolyn were so accommodating and assured me that my LO was going to be well taken care of. By the end of the walk through, we went over the plans and they encouraged us to visit other centers and let them know. They didn't force us to make a decision and I didn't feel hustled. My LO stayed for 9 months until we moved and I wish with all my heart that I could take the entire staff with me. She loved it and knew when it was a "daycare day". They sent frequent pictures with commentary on her mood, the intake log included how much of each bottle she took, when she was sick and couldn't attend (gut bug, 1st colds etc) they sent messages to make sure she was ok, and they sent home her art projects which was frequent. They have a surplus of age appropriate activities and I could tell my LO was learning. Best of all - for me at least- the staff had no less than 5 years experience. I'd say the average was 9 years with the company and location. They are affordable, the curriculum is amazing and they care for the child as well as the family. I miss their expertise dearly. Fast forward to now-my child has entered Kindergarten with confidence and skills well beyond expectations. Thanks to The I School, my little one is already able to read short sentences, sound out CVC words, recognize sight words, and even demonstrate reading comprehension! But what's blown me away the most is the mental math-he can recognize numbers up to 100 and add and subtract without using the fingers. It's incredible. PROs: -You have access to the classroom camera anytime. Not that you can really see anything clearly or within view of the camera lens. - Diapers, wipes and meals/snacks are included in tuition cost. If you're okay with diaper rash from the cheap quality of diapers and wipes and a menu that is open to interpretation and likely to cause your child constipation. Changes to menu are made throughout the day without notice and meals are repetitive throughout the week. -They abide by a good "teacher" to child ratio (1 to 4-6), but that doesn't guarantee the quality of the "teacher" providing "supervision". My l.o. had 3 head injuries in less than 2 weeks which resulted in bleeding, bumps and bruises. We were notified way after the fact and the "teacher" couldn't tell us exactly what happened in two incidents. In the 3rd instance she had a different story from the manager all together. CONs: -This particular facility does NOT abide by their own Health and Safety plan. They do NOT conduct wellness checks throughout the day and parents of unwell children will not be contacted for immediate pick-up if they were. My 15 m.o. can attest to their lack of regular cleaning/sanitizing by suffering through hand-foot & mouth disease among various other illnesses. He's always the first and/or only person in the house to get sick. He's up-to-date on his shots and he doesn't socialize with other people outside of daycare. -Your rate will fluctuate as they see fit. Within 3 months of starting services they increased the prices AND they still have the audacity to ask the parents to provide for party supplies which is mostly food items for the day (they're supposed to be included in the tuition cost). -Be prepared to have more than a few of your child's clothing items lost. -You won't be provided an actual curriculum. According to the pictures we receive, "activities" seem few and far between. -They rely heavily on containers to make up for the lack of staffing or supervision. I'm not sure if it's a lack of experience or staffing, but the negligence of the management staff to provide support in areas of piss poor performance proves their overall incompetence.

We reported it to the office and corporate and they claimed that she would be written up but that would be the extent of punishment. We took it a step further and filed a report with Children's Protective Services and this has been permanently noted for this facility.
