Hands down this is the best school/daycare in the area! My child has been going here for almost 2 years and we have only had positive experiences. The teachers are wonderful and do truly care about the children! The tadpoles app is great as you can receive pictures and updates on your child throughout the day. For what it's worth, I don't think the only non 5 star review is an accurate portrayal of the school. This sounds like a very rare case with missing details. As a very involved parent, I can confirm that their is open communication with the teachers and staff. More so than any other daycare. read more

We have been coming here for probably five years now. We love this place and we are so lucky our children attend this school. I say school over daycare because they learn so much! My son flourished here under the supervision of wonderful teachers and owners, he graduated two years ago and they still love seeing him. My daughter still attends and will be graduating in the next 6 months. I think what I love most about this place is that it's not corporate and the attention from Alyssa, Jessica and Steve make it what it is today. They use the Tadpoles app to keep us up to date with our kids via pictures and notes along with daily reports. They are so awesome and accommodating. My son graduated and started school and the only bad thing was that he was so far advanced than any other kids in kindergarten, he got bored in school. Now he is in first grade and reads at a 4th grade level and top of the class...I know this is because of the Stepping Stones foundation he got. They have recently expanded and taking more students, if you are in the market for a new school; this is the only place to stop. Lovelovelove Stepping Stones! Our daughter has a blast here! The teachers are compassionate and love their work. The kids are always doing something, learning, or playing! The hours are flexible in terms of reasonably early drop off and lateish pick up times. I love that they use the Tadpoles app and I can see photos of what she's up to and keep tabs on her. I never feel like our daughter is another number to the folks in charge and it puts our hearts at ease while we're off doing that working parent thing. Could not recommend it more highly! read more

Stepping Stones Academy is truly my dream daycare or perhaps even better. Jessica and Elissa are super creative and have hearts of gold and their school shines because of this. From the first time I walked in the door, I was amazed by the brightness and beauty of the center. All of the rooms are perfectly designed for the appropriate age group. I have a one-year-old daughter who loves SSA! She gets so excited when we walk in the door. She loves her teachers, Ms. Val and Ms. Evelin, and all her friends. Even the babies are always doing creative activities and sending home footprint spiders for Halloween, and thumb print Christmas lights frames. She is also already learning Spanish, sign language and music! As the other Yelpers mentioned, the Tadpoles app is amazing! I'm updated when Ella eats, sleeps and diaper changes - along with awesome photos of her throughout the day. What a treat for a busy working mama! We have been so impressed with sending our 1 year old here since the school opened. Often with big chain schools your child is just one of many in a classroom, however Stepping Stones is an extremely intimate and personal school. Elissa and Jessica provide such a warm feeling and sense of family at their center. The owners know each child not just by their name, but by their personal likes and dislikes. The teachers have all been friendly and so helpful, I love that there are usually only 2 teachers your child is with all day instead of the usual 6 or 7 the larger centers have to provide because of state numbers. I feel confident that my son's teachers spend enough time and know him just as well as my husband and I do. I also don't know how they keep toddlers busy having fun all day, but I love how they even have them painting and making art at such a young age. Being a working parent away from your child is HARD. One of my favorite things about SSA is the Tadpoles App they use to make me feel connected to what is going on during my son's day. Throughout the day I receive at least 1-2 pictures a day of just him doing fun things like playing on the playground, building blocks, learning during Spanish, etc. It makes me feel better knowing that if I have to be away from him he is at least having fun at daycare. It is the best part of my day, getting a picture of him sent to me! The app also sends an electronic "Daily Sheet" at the end of the day that shares the usual diaper change, nap time, what he ate, etc. It is so helpful to have it on an app in case we need to ever look back at one of his days. I've had the luxury of both temporarily working there part-time and being a customer. As a worker I will say that the teachers really do care about the kids education and are some of the best teachers I've seen. The school is incredibly clean and the teachers very creative. They have lots of events for parents that I would say is above and beyond. They let kids be kids and teach them in exciting ways. As a worker the pay was ok but worth it if you have 1 child as they can go for free while your working. I have never seen any other daycare do this. Tadpoles is also amazing to get live updates of your child throughout the day. If it weren't for management my kids would probably still be coming here. That being said, management is poor. Elissa is the one you should deal with if ever you have any problems. She really wants the best for everyone. Jessica and the husband Steve are pacifists and don't really care to rectify situations. I had an issue with my daughters class when she came home with nail marks on her neck and chest. Her teachers did not send an injury report home. When brought to their, attention they had no idea how it happened. Elissa assured me she spoke to the teachers and made me feel better that it wouldn't happen again and to let her know if I had any problems. Overall while I was working there I would say I was happy with how my daughter was thriving and she really enjoyed it. Fast forward. I am no longer working there and my daughter is in the 2's class. There is a classmate with severe behavioral issues. I've walked into the classroom several times seeing this child bully other children, take toys, and be physically aggressive. I saw the teachers try to bribe the other kids to play with other toys and enable this child's behavior as they didn't want to deal with their collosal temper tantrums and would rather deal with the other kids crying and give them treats for dealing with this child. This was alarming to see but I figured they didn't want to discipline them in front of another parent. As time goes on, the teachers had told me that the kid hits for no reason at random and one day pushes my child into a kitchen toy. There were no marks on her so no injury report was sent home. Had the teachers not told me, I would've had no idea. This was the last straw for me and I asked for my daughter to be moved up in the next class. She was potty trained and was ready to be moved up as she was almost 3 and had mastered everything in her current class according to her teachers. I was then told by Jessica that the other child would be moved up first to see how they would do around older, bigger kids. This child was not potty trained, which is a prerequisite for 3s, and was younger as they move them up based on their birthdays... I was told that I should keep my daughter held back for another year in the 2s class behind this child even though there were multiple cases of them being physically violent for months, once even punching another child in the face according to the teachers. Make no mistake, this child was the biggest child in the class and could really hurt someone. I then decided to pull my child out as I felt I was paying way too much to be putting up with my child being passed over for somebody that should have been kicked out. Put your child here at your own risk. I had a rapport with the teachers as I used to work there. As a parent, you may not know the worst of what your child may be going through at this school. read more

My first child started here when he was three months old. That was two years ago. Now my second child is going there and has been since he was 2 months old (he's now 6 months old). My wife and I both work, so this place is absolutely necessary for our lives. Both my kids are extremely well cared for. My oldest learns so much at school. They do art, sing songs, learn letters and numbers, etc etc. My youngest is also being engaged and assisted in learning how to crawl and hold his own bottle. The school also does parents night out, so if you're like our family and have no relatives in the area this is awesome. The school is also periodically putting on very fun events for the kids like petting zoos, ice cream socials, and truck or treat. Bottom line, sending our boys there has been one of the best parenting decisions we've made. read more

My daughter is 20 months and has been attending Stepping Stones for about a month. My friend had a child that was attending SSA and always said such wonderful things that I had to check it out. I got her on the wait-list and there was an unexpected opening... I was very stressed out about moving her from her old school that she had attended since she was about 8 months. However, just taking a tour at SSA, you can see the passion, creativity and enthusiasm for what they do! I'm not sure it's coincidence but my daughter's vocabulary has exploded since coming to this school. It is a nurturing environment where the children are challenged and stimulated, not just "babysat." Like some of the others have said, one of my favorite parts is the Tadpoles Ap on your phone. They send you several pictures and videos throughout the day of your child. They also send a daily report that is uploaded when you pick your child up. They also offer extras like, "Parents Night Out" (babysitting on a Saturday night once a month where they play a movie for the kids), this year they had "trunk or treating" for the families and a Thanksgiving Lunch for the parents to come in.. They really go the extra mile! Another thing that is different from my old daycare is that even at 5:30 when you pick up your child, there is at least 2 people in the room watching the kids and there is always someone around the front desk area. I really appreciate that they don't run the most bare bones operation when it comes to staffing at different times throughout the day. Paying is also hassle free and done through their website! We have been with Elissa and Jessica since they started out of the house 2 years ago. They are amazing! Stepping Stones is a great place for your children to learn and grow. My daughter is 4 and my son is 19 months and they have great teachers and enjoy going everyday. We just had our 3rd child and we know he will be well cared for when he starts. I was just talking to the teacher that will take care of my infant today and she was so excited about him starting in January. She wanted to see pictures and wanted to hear all about him. I can't express how excited we are to have found Stepping Stones Academy.Our daughter has been in child care since three months old and (having loved her previous school) we feared her transition to a new environment, but ever since her first week she's asked for her "new school" and never looked back. We could not be happier with Stepping Stones Academy! The directors, our daughter's teachers' and the rest of the staff are the BEST of the best! We felt at home the moment we walked in, and knew right away this was the place for our baby girl! Our daughter has been attending SSA since February 2014, when she was just 3 months old. As a first time Mama, I was not looking forward to leaving her at all and returning to work! However, I felt at home as soon as we walked in to drop her off that first day. Ms. Evelin, her very first teacher, is absolutely amazing and we just love her to pieces. She greets you with a happy smile every day and genuinely loves our daughter. Ms. Zelzen and Ms. Giselle, her other first teachers', are just as wonderful. We loved every minute of our girl being with them each day, and knew she was in the best hands when we couldn't be with her. We know they love her and care for her as we would, and nothing beats that in the eyes of a parent. She came home each week with many art projects, and even started to learn Spanish! Our baby girl just moved up to the next classroom, and while we were so sad to see her leave her first "classroom" and teachers, once again we were made to feel at home in her new room, and her new teachers are just as wonderful! Ms. Val and Ms. Vicki love our girl so much, and they take such wonderful care of her each day! She's learning so much, and is developing at such a fast pace! She'll be sitting on her own before we know it! She loves her art projects. Spanish lessons and her friends so much, as evidenced by the smile that's always on her face! The Tadpoles app is the best app EVER! We get updates throughout the day on how our baby is doing, how she's eating/sleeping, etc., as well as pictures and videos of her playing and learning! It brightens my day and puts an instant smile on my face when I see these. The Directors at SSA are truly wonderful, beautiful people, both inside and out. Elissa, Jessica and Steve greet us each and every day and make you feel like family. They have created such a perfect atmosphere for children. My daughter is 2.25 years old. We started at SSA almost 2 weeks ago and I truly feel it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. My daughter screams "Stepping Stones Academy" with excitement, every morning we turn into the driveway. At her old daycare she screamed and cried EVERY single morning at drop off, even though she'd been in attendance there for nearly 7 months. At SSA, not a single tear! She absolutely loves her teacher "Ms. Nadi", too, who has been PHENEMONAL with Parker's transition... The food is awesome and nutritious. This morning for breakfast they had biscuits that were made from scratch... The school is clean and well maintained. The playground is AWESOME! The rooms are bright and full of creative stimulating learn/play activities, toys and books. They are super stringent about sterilizing and cleaning the toys, etc too. Walking into SSA I immediately knew my daughter would be in a positive, team-valued, stress-free, fun learning environment--- call it Mother's intuition--- and I'm so happy I called it right!! My poor feedback is as to the management. A month ago, I toured SSA and was very impressed with the facility and with the male owner who gave me the tour. I was excited to be able to put my baby-to-be on the waiting list, and the owner told me that the wait was running to Aug-Sept 2016, which was exactly when I needed childcare to begin, so my search for childcare ended. He told me to follow up periodically, so this morning I called to touch base and see if they could nail down whether my baby could begin in August or September. I spoke with the other owner (it's a husband and wife team) and she told me it would be 2 years until my baby could begin. I expressed how frustrating that news is - it is very hard to get in to a daycare in a timely manner in Roswell, and seeing as I thought I had found a place I stopped searching a month ago and now I will have an ever more difficult time. My husband and I work full time and my maternity leave is only 3 months unpaid, so finding childcare to begin in August or September is make or break for our family. Worse than their mishandling of the waiting list, when I expressed my frustration at having been misled about the waiting list and losing that time to find alternate childcare, the owner just hung up on me mid-sentence. Mind you, I did not use profanity, I did not call names. I was frustrated bit civil. Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise - I'm not sure I want my baby in the care of people who have such disregard and ambivalence toward what is important to the families they are supposed to serve. My children - and the children of anyone I speak with in the Roswell area - will go elsewhere. read more

This review is way overdue!!! We have been at Stepping Stones for about 2 years now and have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. It's not just a center for childcare, it truly has an educational environment starting from an early age. From the owners (Elissa, Jessica and Steve) to all the teachers, everyone of them are so friendly and caring. I love getting pictures and videos of my daughter throughout the day and having their daily reports emailed to me. My daughter comes home everyday having learned something new. We recently transferred both my kids (3 yrs and 15 months) to SSA from Primrose. I have to be honest, I was a bit concerned that SSA may not be comparable to our previous school. Needless to say, I have been so impressed and happy with SSA teachers and staff. Elissa and Jessica are the owners and they are just wonderful! They are very down to earth and mother themselves, so they understand and help you through the whole process. I also must brag about Ms. Leslie who teaches the pre-K classroom. My 3 yr old, who is pretty shy, absolutely loves her teacher. Within the first week of starting at SSA, she learned the "month" song, then next thing I know, she was singing days of the week song and now singing color song in Spanish! Not only that, she's learned how to spell her name and wants to practice tracing alphabets at home. And we've only been here for less than 2 months! My 15 month old is in the toddler room (1yr +) and his teachers have been so great! Last week, he came home and started using sign language he learned at school with us! I was really nervous about our transfer to SSA but it has been such a great change for our whole family! You will not regret if you choose this school! read more

Our son has been attending SSA for over a year now and we absolutely love this place. It is such a comfort knowing that when we leave him in the morning, he is in some of the best most capable hands. From his first room, to the room he is in now, he has had some of the greatest teachers I have ever met and he is always excited to arrive in his room in the AMs. As he has transitioned through the age groups, the lesson plans continue to expand and he is exposed to more and more. It is quite apparent when we play and interact with him at home that he is learning quite a bit! Being a first time mom, I have lots of questions about my child's development and his teachers have always been very knowledgeable and patient. Whether it's about behavioral changes or nutrition, they are a fountain of information and help put my mind at ease if I have any concerns. Another thing we love about SSA is how involved the directors/owners are. They are always at the front desk in the mornings and many times in the afternoons. They know our son and have always been genuine in their interactions with our family. The school itself is bright and colorful, and always squeaky clean. Throughout the year, they host events for the families which we always enjoy attending! Another feature we absolutely love is the regular updates we receive through their child care app. We receive pictures and a full report of our son's day which helps us feel more connected to his care. Overall, SSA has exceeded our expectations for a child care center and we look forward to being a part of the SSA family for several years to come. read more
