The other Montessori where he was enrolled before, the teachers did not help him a bit; instead, they criticized him, gave him punishments. But here, the teachers were always there to help him. they gave him confidence and helped him to be confident. He also has potty training issues. Most of the Montessori does not accept untrained kids above 4 year age bracket. But again, they helped him a lot. I would suggest everyone enroll their kids to this Montessori.

CONSTANT FRUSTRATION, LACK OF CONCERN, AND HOSTILITY…read more My son has been attending for only 5 months. It's been a difficult experience, which started immediately after we enrolled. Our son is no longer attending, and we never enrolled our younger son. Recently relocated, we did not want to further disturb our son's schooling by moving again. We tried to make the best of the situation, however, we were met with constant frustration, lack of concern, and hostility. There was constant frustration due to the admin's inability to provide accurate information, and having difficulty remembering important conversations. For example, we were told class cameras would be set up during our tour to watch our son on occasion. After 4 months of asking I finally PRESSED and was told "we never said we'd fix the camera." My husband goes in, and miraculously the cameras are fixed the next day. I was told lunch was healthy, at the very least no canned food, and like any Montessori school, no candy/sweets (they give as a snack many days). I asked for a picture of the food to ensure all was well, after asking for a very long time, pictures clearly show canned food. I asked the admin to highlight meals that will have canned food to pack those days (she said no canned food at first, then said some...). She hands back every meal highlighted. Just seems like more care could be given. The lack of care was further shown when our son was hit/scratched by another student (other student's fault). First, they verbally told me an inaccurate account of what happened (my son explained). The teacher did not even know what day it happened. Because of that, I had to ask for an incident report (you should always have one when your child is injured). I got back a few words in the report, so I asked for a more detailed report (to handle any future issues). The request was met with almost physical hostility when I simply asked to review the final report one last time. Needless to say, it was the final straw. In the least, I certainly recommend asking very detailed questions and documenting all communications.

This has been the best experience for our child and us. We have attended other schools before, but found this one to be the one our child enjoys the most. The school follows the school districts' calendars and doesn't have other numerous staff days off, which helps us focus on our own work. The management and staff seem to all work together well, great vibes, and we haven't had one bad experience yet. The number of activities they put on for the kids is insane especially for the summer. It's such a fun, safe learning environment. Curriculum is blended Montessori with progress tracking. I appreciate this school so much and will be sad when we age out. My only wish is that the snacks and lunches were more whole foods, but this is minor compared to the entire experience that they offer and how much my child has learned and benefitted.

While there are many other similarly priced Montessori day cares in the area, Ivy's teachers and staff are what sets them apart from the rest. Their teachers are like second moms to our kids and pour so much love into their students every day. Ms. Anisa, the director, keeps us well informed and loves our kids as if they were her own. She keeps the school running smoothly, even through the many challenges COVID has presented. Ms. Julie, the infants' teacher, was such a wealth of information when our children were in her care. She was a great thought partner and helped us navigate through dropping naps, changing feeding schedules and introducing solids throughout the years we were in her class. Ms. Yazmin, Ms. Zarin, Ms. Sherry and Ms. Erica in the toddler rooms are so kind and loving with our kids. While in their classes, our kids' vocabulary skyrocketed and we saw them meet so many cognitive milestones with ease. Ms. Brenda has been THE BEST resource and partner in potty training. We went in for a tour, unscheduled. The facility was much smaller than the other places we'd visited! We met with Kathie, the director and she gave us a quick tour and showed us the Infant room. It's small - with about 8 cribs, a few saucers and bouncy chairs. But I noticed there was NO smell - it was so clean! Kathie told us that there was no wait list, but as soon as we'd made a decision to bring back the deposit to hold our spot. The best part was, it was very affordable ($895/mo), especially for the North Dallas area. On his first day, I had to come back up to the center mid-day with his tuition check. I walked in to a low lit, quiet day care. The entire center was quiet - everyone was down for a nap. My baby, who had not slept over 4 hours or even in a crib yet, was asleep in a crib, on his back, in a sleep sack. From that day on, he's slept in his crib and slept through the night. They were able to put him on a schedule when I was not able to. My son has been at Ivy since he was 7 weeks old. He's now 7 months old. We have even moved to another area - but I still drive him to Ivy every single day. He is thriving, and has a team of teachers there who love him. I will sing their praises every day and am so grateful we found them. I have total peace of mind when I drop him off every morning, and I know we will keep him here until he starts Kindergarten.
