Due to the nature of my complaint, I had to create a fake email to protect my identity…read more I recently got a tattoo from Luna at this tattoo shop. Luna did a fantastic job! I was very pleased with her work and I probably would've gave 5 stars if the following hadn't occurred. So this place is an open type studio, so you can overhear conversations with other tattoo artists and clientele. Normal, nothing wrong there, its like that at a lot of shops. However, one of the other tattoo artists named Jess, (not sure if this is short or what, skinny woman) was extremely unprofessional in every aspect. Keep in mind I wasn't her client, so I only grabbed bits and pieces but essentially she was complaining very loudly about some ex roommate of hers suddenly moving out on her, being a slob , how she's getting people to threaten this roommate ,something about sex offenders?, her ownfriends all being to jail, how she's been to jail , how she's going to party tonight, what she thinks about the owner being unprofessional, complaining about HER OWN Clientele, and she went on and on about all her personal problems that I believe has nothing to do with the workplace. I don't know if she was under the influence, or this is simply her mental health , but because of her, it really ruined my enjoyment of getting a tattoo. What's very concerning to me is that this particular employee is essentially bragging about being a criminal. And I'm shocked that this is allowed by management. Great prices, great studio, but this one particular employee is an absolute nightmare. I would not recommend this studio to anyone if she's on premise.

The one owner was super into supporting trump and would talk all day about how good trump was and how great his ideas would be for the business and for Canada in general. It made me so so so uncomfortable I just didnt understand what that had to do with running that business. The one owner has a hot temper. He would lose his temper at some of the smallest stuff. I worked hard to design a new store website for them and when he was screaming at me to fire me he made sure to say it was specifically because of my disability. They broke multiple labour laws, refused to pay me my final pay check and abruptly fired me. They lied on my record of employment rendering me unable to obtain EI and left me very close to becoming homeless. Simply because the male owner has a hot temper and didnt like me. They will treat people negatively based on their narrow minded views and they treat their staff horribly. This reflected in the quality of work. They would make simple mistakes like accidentally mixing up two diamond wedding bands during inspection or misplacing a diamond. Its truly a reflection of the lack of compassion and chosen bigotry they have towards anyone who doesnt agree with their conservative views. If you value your jewelry I would highly recommend not risking it with these people.

The shopping gem I happened upon was the Kingston Sunday Antique Market, found at the on King St, between Market & Brock Street ... or, as the way I stumbled upon it, by following the cocophony of sound from behind the town's grandiose City Hall. Considering the sturdy rain earlier in the day, it's existence (which IS weather permitting) was a pleasant surprise. Vendors whipped off their rain-beaded tarps and the market was in full force after the sun came out. It isn't some half-a**ed glorified garage sale. You'll find vintage furniture (especially chairs, bookshelves, and dressers), product signs, jewelry, toy cars, books, sports cards, trunks, art work, books, old political ephemera, plenty of tempting NHL stuff, pottery, records (and even a few 8-tracks!), retro kitchen stuff, old intricate teapots ... I could go on forever. You'll also find local merchants like Ladybug Antiques & More at the market. So if in Kingston on a Sunday, early April through late October from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., I highly recommend visiting Kingston's lovely market. It's Kingston's treasure ... where you're bound to find plenty of other treasures!
