We financed a 2015 GMC Yukon Denali XL after dealing with Gordy, who claimed he drove it regularly and it was great. Turns out that was just the first of many lies. We put $1,800 down, signed a mountain of paperwork, and drove home a filthy vehicle that didn't even come with a full tank of gas -- Gordy generously put in $15 worth across the street. Within 30 minutes, we noticed a horrible shift, a shaky engine, and the creeping dread that we'd just financed a lemon. Over the next week, the nightmare snowballed. My wife, who needed this vehicle to safely transport our kids, ended up terrified to drive it: the transmission slammed, the motor codes lit up the dash like a Christmas tree, it screeched and lurched at stops, and every time you'd start it, you wondered if you'd make it home. Meanwhile, the bank (Westlake Financial) kept rejecting our verification attempts because Peregrine Motors sent them the wrong paperwork -- repeatedly. When my mechanic finally got under the hood, he didn't sugarcoat it: "It would be impossible for any reputable dealership not to know this transmission was toast -- and the engine needed a rebuild too." He quoted $11,000 in repairs on a vehicle we'd just financed for $16,000. I gave Peregrine Motors the benefit of the doubt -- once again, a mistake. I returned the vehicle to their lot myself and told them it was a lemon and I wanted my down payment back so I could buy something safe for my family. They gave me the runaround: "We'll find you something at auction." What they came back with was a smaller, older vehicle that didn't meet our needs. Then they tried to upsell us into something more expensive with a bigger down payment. After weeks of phone tag, endless "We'll call you back," and excuses like "I don't work here, everyone's out," they finally cut me a check over six weeks later -- but only after I'd driven an hour (again) to pick it up in person. And let's not forget: they asked for my card number multiple times for a refund that never came that way. This business is an embarrassment to the word "dealership." They're not BBB-accredited (for good reason), and I now see they have some of the worst reviews on Google -- I wish I'd read them before wasting my time, money, and sanity. If you value your time, money, and your family's safety, do not trust Peregrine Motors with a dime of your money. Save yourself the headache, the lies, and the runaround -- go anywhere else. One star is generous.
