I had my first appointment today and I wouldn't send a dead rat to this business. The only employee who was kind over the phone was the gentleman. All of the women are rude and have a nasty attitude. I made a total of 7 calls and I was spoken to rudely. The last call I was told I had to reschedule because I couldn't find the entrance door. The lady hung the phone up in my face and after several attempts to address her rudeness no one would answer. I read the negative reviews before coming but I overlooked them since I was referred to them by my nutritionist. Bottom line I wouldn't go here if it was free. I am writing this review in the hopes that it may save someone the time, money and aggravation that I experienced after a visit to Associated Allergists. I have a slight sensitivity to shrimp and listed this on a medical questionnaire with a new employer. My employer required me to see my Dr to confirm this was not a serious allergy to shellfish. I went to Associated Allergists in January 2023 for a skin test. Once the test was completed a nurse reviewed my arm and said there was no reaction to any of the allergens. I saw NO reaction on my arm. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) said she noticed a reaction under lobster. There was no reaction. I told her I saw nothing. She stated if I wanted to go for a blood test, I could do that as well. I went to Quest Labs and within 24 hours I received my results. Lobster was absent/undetectable. Shrimp was Very Low Level. I sent these results to the NP, however she had already sent my forms back to my employer stating I had a positive reaction to Lobster and based on a situation I shared from 41 years prior, she listed me as having an anaphylaxis reaction to shellfish. My employer used this information to limit my access to certain profitable job opportunities. As a result of this report a contract I was scheduled to begin was rescinded. My employer said I can request a review after 1 year. I requested that review in 2024 and was told based on the form completed by the NP my ban was permanent. The one option was to see my Dr again and request a food challenge. My employer said they never received the results of the Quest Lab blood test showing Lobster as absent/undetectable. I decided to get another opinion and found a new allergist. I completed a new skin test (10) allergens. This test revealed ZERO reactions. There was NO reaction to Lobster. My new Dr. stated that since it does not show in my bloodwork or my skin test, it is unlikely I am allergic to lobster. However, the only way to have this misdiagnosis removed from my employment records is to complete a food challenge at my Drs office. I have eaten Lobster at home so I know this will not be an issue. I will schedule the food challenge for next week. I am very disappointed with my experience at Associated Allergists. This past year has caused me stress, as well as a loss of income and opportunities. In hind sight I realize I should have asked for someone else to review my skin test results because the NP clearly did not see a reaction to Lobster. It will cost me $500 to correct this error. If you decide to go to this location, ask to see the Dr only. Please don't settle for less. Avoid my year long ordeal. read more

This review is specifically pertaining to the Orland Park office. Today, I experienced the most unpleasant visit to a doctors office in my entire life. I was scheduled for a "prick" test to determine my allergies at 11:05am. It was already established that I needed to be tested for honey with my first consult with Dr. Thompson. Prior to my appointment, the nurse calls me at 10:17am, stating that in order to conduct a honey test, I would personally have to bring in honey (I was never informed of this). Therefore I had to go back home to get honey, this resulting in me being late. I arrive at the address provided on their OWN website at 11:15am. This is NOT the correct address (10733 West 165th Street Orland Park). I call the receptionist and I'm informed on how to get to the actual address. I arrive at 11:29am and I'm told that I need to reschedule because I'm late! I request to speak with a on-site manager, (who is KATY) to express my disappointment. After telling her the address isn't correct and the inefficiency of their staff, she tells me it's my fault. Extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional staff! I will not be going to this practice again. The Dr. was fine but the office staff not so much. No one greeted us when we arrived despite the fact there were 2-3 women behind the desk at any given time. I stood there waiting for one of them to even acknowledge me. Since it was my first time to this practice I wasn't sure what they needed from me. I finally had to speak up and ask what I needed to fill out etc. The woman behind the desk with sandy blonde hair looked annoyed and grabbed some papers and said in a frustrated tone "Here... fill these out." I asked for a pen and she said, again in a gruff tone, "They are the flowers in the pot." OK...moving on. I had my ID and insurance card ready (It was a temp card - which works just as good as the real one). She said, " Don't you have the real one?" I said I didn't. To which she rolled her eyes and said I should really contract the insurance company to get one. After I completed the paperwork she just took them with out saying thank you or asking if I had any questions etc. I feel the individual I interacted with and the overall lack of customer service is doing a dis-service to the Dr.'s at this practice!!! read more

If i can give a zero rating i would ! the nurses (ALL but ONE) are sooo rude. The office ladies are horrible. i called and needed to talk to a doctor for an urgent matter and was told i would have to leave a message for a nurse. Finally spoke to one who was the most ignorant lady EVER. i told her our conversation was over and to have the doctor call me. Now the doctor finally calls me back and he was the most arrogant man. He never let me spoke, blamed the problem on me the patient and told me if i did not like the scripts, dont take them. Oh wait.... he also said he is a very busy person and does not have the time to take phone calls ever. DO NOT GO TO ANY OF THE DOCTORS AT THIS PRACTICE. read more

My wife and I brought our young 13 month old daughter here for an allergy test. The experience with the front desk was miserable and degrading. In my opinion this office is run very poorly, with missing critical communication and a poor customer service reaction. These are all ominous signs at a doctor's office, of which we have plenty of experience. It started when we arrived to see a sign out front stating that we must text our arrival. So we did. It was cold out, and we had our daughter, but we figured--like other doctor's offices we've been to--they would respond right away. We walked up to the door and waited outside. The door has a large red sign on it saying that we then must text (again) the name, birthdate, etc. So we did. Minutes go by and the baby is getting restless. No response on the demanded texts. Finally, after about 3 or 4 minutes, I knock on the door to get someone's attention. A woman comes to the door and does not look happy. I said that we were there for an appointment. She says with an attitude, "did you send the text?" I said, "yes we did." She says, "well then obviously we're not ready for you yet." She shuts the door and we're left standing out there in the cold. Mind you, my wife and I are both fully masked and I'm holding the baby in a blanket. I didn't respond to the rude statement, figuring that it wouldn't do anything good to escalate, even though I believed it to be an incredibly rude response. So we head back to the car, because they "weren't ready for us" just to get some warmth. We're sitting there for a few minutes and then the magic key text comes in, telling us "you can come inside, but only one parent is allowed inside." Clearly, the woman at the front desk had seen the both of us, and decided to inform us of this news. When we made the appointment we were never told that this should be a one-parent visit, nor were we told at any point prior. That is just poor office management and service. We BOTH want to be there for our daughter. Interestingly, every other doctor we have visited during the pandemic has never had a policy like this. So I wait in the car and my wife says that she will ask why it can be only one parent and then she'll let me know what to do. A few minutes later, my wife is back to the car, very upset, saying that she's not bringing our baby to this place, and that we're cancelling due to a terrible experience. I asked what happened, and I was astonished. When she went in there, she asked a nurse who let her in, "we weren't told that we could only have one parent, can you tell my why we both can't be here?" The woman that originally closed the door on us then yells across the room at her, that "it's to protect our immunocompromised patients!" My wife was not talking with her. My wife said, "Excuse me, but I was talking to the nurse, could you please lower your voice?." Then the other woman yelled again from across the room and even louder, "I''m a nurse, too!" Wow! These people must not get any training, and this told my wife a lot about the potential professionalism of the doctors. My wife then turned back to the original nurse and said, "I'm sorry, nothing against you, but I don't feel comfortable here, and we are cancelling the appointment." And my wife walked back out to me." At this point I went back and had a few words with the nurse, asking why this other woman was yelling at my wife. I also said the whole place needed an "attitude adjustment." The nurse tried to talk over me and I wasn't having it. I got louder than I normally ever would and was very angry at that point. The disrespect from these people was incredible. So we left. We did not get a follow-up call, and it's apparent that they don't care one whit about it. My guess is that the doctors were told a different story by their front-line staff. I would recommend that you avoid this place at all costs -- it's not worth your health and your mental health to deal with what I believe is an amateur office like this. read more

I've been here several times for check-up appointments (not shots) and each time I have waited more than 30-45 minutes past my appointment time to see the physician. Sitting in the lobby for so long you can overhear the receptionists stating 'don't schedule dr x for any more patients that day, he can't handle anymore'. Clearly they are double/triple booking appointment times. I've asked if I can arrive 30 minutes late for my appointment time instead of 15 minutes early and I was told that my appointment would be cancelled. I recommend this office only if you have a lot of extra time on your hands. Great care but not the practice for working individuals. read more
