Now, since then, I've actually sent her a few clients; one being a childhood friend. My friend ended up retaining her and was going to file for divorce. My friend had a change of heart and decided to wait until she was certain. My friend asked for a refund and Michelle sent her an invoice for work done. This was almost a year and some months ago. Fast forward to this year, now my friend is ready to go through with the divorce and calls Michelle back, and says she's ready. Come to find out nothing was ever filed yet her invoice states she paid filing fees, and that it was filed. You have to trust your lawyer and Michelle, although sweet as pie may not be as ethical as I thought. Just disheartened that she sent an invoice for work she never completed at the time.
