I got a product from Steve Weiss percussion that turned out to be defective Gibraltar drum throne. The seat didn't even go with or fit on the base and when I complained on three different occasions to three different people they were all belligerent jerks who refused to send a different brand drum throne at the advertised price or honor the free shipping they advertised but that the replacement would be at the retail price and I would be charged for shipping. The jerks told me they were doing me a favor in accepting the return. I finally had to call my bank and dispute the charge when the refund didn't post to my account. After getting my order messed up, big time by another large online retailer "MF" and two calls Later and 45 min. on the phone. I is still did not have a drum set, there system kept messing up my address. After getting IT to fix the problem with there system. They still would not send me a new set tell the old set made it back to them, and a refund had been issued. I even offered to pay for the second set but they said no. This really is as good as it gets. Ive always has wonderful experiences through Steve Weiss. This last time however I had my package arrive 2 days early. The box was destroyed and the only thing I was missing was a pair of mallets, everything else was in perfect condition. I sent the info along with pictures explaining what had happened. Hey Steve, I've known about your company for years but never had the need to order anything until earlier this week. I am very pleased with the level of service I received and wanted to make it public. I live in California, and I placed an order for several items (Danmar mounted castanets, Abel triangle, and a few other small items) on Tuesday morning, Nov 19. Optimally, I want them for a rehearsal this coming Saturday, Nov 23, but assumed they wouldn't arrive in time so not a huge deal. Figured I'd have them by the rehearsal the following Saturday, which was good enough. On a whim, I decided to inquire in the "notes" of my order about USPS Priority Shipping, figuring it doesn't hurt to ask and that maybe I could get the items in time. Within a few moments of placing my order, one of your customer service reps named Earl emailed to let me know he saw my note, and was happy to ship my items USPS Priority per my request for an additional $6 charge to my credit card. He couldn't guarantee it since SWM is not the USPS, but said it was highly likely I'd receive my items before Saturday. I said OK. Long story short, my items are already out for delivery, less than 48 hours later. I will definitely have them in time for my rehearsal, which makes me super happy. More importantly, I never expected to have such personalized customer service from an online retailer, and was so pleasantly surprised by Earl's friendly, helpful communication, I wanted you to hear about it on Yelp. Ordered sheet music from them. Package arrived quickly. Opened package and all there was is the cover for the music but no music. Called them up first thing Monday morning and expressed to them I needed the music by Thursday for a music assessment performance. The sales person assured me it would be there by Wednesday. I once again expressed the urgency of having it on time. Wednesday I called again (after the mail had been delivered to my house), and inquired about my package. Wow, is there so much good stuff to say about this company! I've had a few purchases with them, and every time I have received stellar shipping times and great packaging. My most recent order, the Marimba One Wave Wrap series, was on a BOGO sale, which in itself is a fantastic deal, especially since these are some of the most expensive marimba mallets on the market. So I got a set of four, and after I played with them for a while, I realized that all the qualities I liked about them were very similar to the those that I liked about another set that I already own. I decided that I would rather have a different set of mallets, from another series. Don't get me wrong, they're fantastic mallets; I just decided the small differences weren't worth $86.95. So I went to find my packaging for the order, and I realized I had thrown away the bags that each pair came in. The return policy states that if the item is not returned with all items that originally came in the packaging, the company is not required to give the full refund. Of course, this is totally understandable, as it is a loss on the company's part for a mistake made by a customer. After emailing the company, I was able to come to an agreement with them on it, and they have agreed to give me the full refund, even though they don't have extra bag inserts, which I happened to throw away.
