Positively Records absolutely lived up to its name. I'm visiting from California and stopped in today with my son, and we were immediately struck by the great vibe of the shop and the genuinely positive people running it. Super welcoming, no pretension, just real love for music. The clientele was friendly too. We ended up having some great conversations with other diggers about what we were flipping through, which always makes a record store visit memorable. The selection was better than I anticipated, with a really solid mix of new and used records, and the prices were more than fair. Highlight of the visit: scoring a near-mint copy of the 1977 first pressing of Foreigner. Couldn't have been more fitting to buy it today, with "Cold As Ice" on the tracklist and a windchill of -8 outside, it felt meant to be. If you're anywhere near Levittown, PA and love records, Positively Records is 100% worth the stop. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

Sadly this long-standing business was taken over by someone lacking knowledge of music and integrity. I was a patron since it opened and would go out my way to be a customer when I moved. They will never get another dollar of sales from me. Be warned especially if you try to sell any items, they will rip you off without a second thought. read more

While in high school and college in the early 90s, this was one of my go-to places to get music. I was very happy to see Positively is still there and going strong without a lot of changes since I used to visit back in the day. They still have a great selection of many different music styles. I was able to find a few great hard to find titles. If you can't find parking right outside the store, there's a big lot across the street at the supermarket. Small store packed full of records and memorabilia. (Unfortunately, the memorabilia isn't for sale) While there is a more than decent selection, I believe it's just a little on the pricier side. Not sure where he gets his prices from, it may be eBay's listing and not necessarily eBay's Sold listing. But since he's pretty much the only game in the area, I guess he's able to charge what he wants. Can't say there's room to negotiate either on the used records. If it's marked 20, that's it. Whereas 10 - 15 miles away the same record may be 15-18. Again, just a little in the pricey side. But when you're looking at a bunch those extra few bucks add up. We've been here a few times over the past year or so and we always come out with at least a handful. Again, nice selections. Wish the memorabilia was for sale though. read more

The gentleman who owns the store is very kind friendly and knowledgeable about music and his selections in the store. It is incredible that we never discovered this jewel of a place until very recently! Looking for a Valentine's Day gift for my husband, I decided to take him to Positively Records which I found by googling nearby record shops. It is filled from top to bottom with excellent finds ~ music, memorabilia ~ and the nicest, most helpful staff at the helm. Discounted vinyl, cds, amazing selection...this is a music lover's heaven. You can *not* beat this place's music selection in the bucks county area! I've been going to this store for about ten years, and it has grown with me. Today I mostly go their to buy used albums, and browse from their humongous $2.99 "red stripe" bins. ... as far as the red stripes go; one day I was able to buy nearly the entire Led Zep discography for 3 bucks a piece... wow. I've also gotten tons of other bargin's over the years. Also anytime I head in there (nearly every pay check), I'm bound to find some sort of rarity. (Lots of old school punk and metal, Paul McCartney flaming pie VHS, a Mike Gordon's Inside In DVD, and some Grateful Dead demo recordings to name a few) Which leads us to their awesome DVD selection. Once again: bargins! 2 bucks a dvd i think (i mostly frequent the music) So now that the music industry has become largely cannibalistic, and abandoned many of the big and mom-and-pop record stores, its nice to see Positively Records keeping their head above water. The couple of workers there are reliably intelligent about a wide selection of music and certainly are not jerks at all to the everyday customer. Support this store! I am in no way affiliated or related to the owners but I just wish to see this place outlast the awful corporate shmucks that try to monopolize music retail. The reason I was inspired to write this review is because I just called the store to ask about a special limited edition vinyl release coming out on "Record Store Day", and the owner was incredibly courteous and kind to share with me which day his shipments come in and that if I call in he will try to pin that item down for me. I can't believe no one has reviewed this place yet! Walk in the door and look up. You'll be greeted by a large Harvest-era Neil Young poster. "The Store," as I call it, has just welcomed you. The used section is alphabetized which is helpful if you're looking to cut to the chase, although sometimes I do enjoy the organized chaos (used CDs in no order) of the Princeton Record Exchange - the only other record store I've ever been to that could even touch the garment hem of this place. Used discs rarely have significant signs of wear and are priced between $6 and $9 per unit. They also have a budget section where CD's are in the range of $2-$3. "The Store" also has a considerable new CD collection with prices starting around a standard $10.99. The real hook, though, is the place's selection of rare/import CD's that you literally cannot find anywhere else. I've turned about five or six people on to this place by taking them there. From the outside you'd never be able to tell. Once you get in there, though, you're hooked. NOTE: Doug and Mitch - the two proprietors of Positively Records - are both very friendly, willing to help and will place special orders on CDs for you. A HUUUUUGE plus! read more

Great store! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Has a very nice mom and pop vibe. The owners are always very helpful and are willing to order new release. Over the last few years they tripled the vinyl section. There is not tons of vinyls but what they do have is always reasonably priced and in good condition. I do not buy CDs or DVDs that much but they do have both and have a lot of rare CDs at good prices. My only complaint is that I purchased a vinyl recently and it was a counterfeit or bootleg pink Floyd album "saucerful of secrets". It looked just like the original! When I got home I was kind bummed because it was a used vinyl and they did not state that it was a "unofficial" album. I guess it's partially my fault but it would have been nice to know. It seems like they have a lot of counterfit vinyls in the store. I love old bootlegs of live recordings don't get me wrong. Like vintage TMOQ and TAKRL but theses are boots of "official" albums. I just heard about this place even though I've lived in the area for years, so I decided to stop in recently. This store has a great selection of used CDs as well as vinyl & new CDs. Prices are very good, used are almost all $6, though some are marked slightly higher (I got a used double disc for $8), they also have a large selection of Budget Used CDs that are $2-$3 that are under the main displays of used CDs. Their used CDs are even almost perfect alphabetical order! (Budget CDs are not however). This store almost exclusively carries "Rock" music of various genres, so don't expect anything too far off of that, though their interpretation of rock is everything from Elvis to i hate myself, so there's definitely something for most people. They also have what I'd estimate as 500 used DVDs (most $2) and maybe 100 used Blu-Ray. They also carry some music memorabilia & limited amount of guitar stuff. Be sure to park in front of their store if you go, as the other stores all have signs saying they'll tow you if you aren't patronizing the store you're parking in front of, which seems weird for a fairly unbusy strip mall with several empty storefronts, but whatever. I love this place. I have been supporting Mitch since he was in the old I-95 marketplace in the mid 1980's. So much stuff here. cheap used cds everywhere normally $6 a single, budget cds for $2.99 a cd, lots of box sets (cheap), used Lps, new lps, dvds and even old promo band photos. Their is music memorabilia everywhere!! Located conveniently in the 5 points shopping center its perfect to drop your lady off at the grocery store next store and spend your time surfing through these goodies. Besides Mitch, Doug and his son work there as well. I will say this you won't find a place with more Bob Dylan or David Bowie stuff anywhere!!!! They even took their name of the store from a Dylan song. I personally usually buy punk and Oi! cds and they have more than your average indie shop. Go there and support them and tell em pat sent ya!! P.S. and the guy that says below they sell only counterfeit records.......don't believe him. He probably only owns Pink Floyd's "Dark Sid Of The Moon" and "The Wall" and couldn't spot anything else. So pay him no mind... hipster read more

Holy counterfeit records! There must have been 75 Pink Floyd records in there, and I bought the only one that was real (a $4 Dark Side Of The Moon, a good deal for the condition and the issue it is, although it was lacking the inserts). This place has an absurd amount of fake albums and picture discs. I personally do not like this. I think it is easy to spot the difference, but I don't know if the average record enthusiast would be able to so. So my advice is, if you don't know the difference, stay away from the Beatles, Floyd, and other big names. The positive side of this store is it has a TON of cool music and memorabilia. The vinyl (the real ones) are reasonably priced, it has a huge CD collection, posters, action figures, bobbleheads, clocks and anything else you can think of music-related. The staff seemed very friendly as well. I give it two stars strictly for the illegal $20-and-up records it sells. Otherwise, this place would kick ass. read more

I spent my first intire paycheck there when I was 14.lol Been shopping there ever since! i'm 33 now and this store is even more awesome.. The store in a little strip mall in Levittown has been there since we moved here in 1987.. They used to have mostly records but now it's 90% cd's.. If your looking for record ask the white haired hippy guy up front.,,, I'm sure they have it some where. It's part museum, part music store. I'm not a fan of iTunes or searching sites to download music illegally.. This place is special and If you love music and/or looking for that hard to find item, you def should check this place out read more

This place "rocks"- pun intended. I could spend hours and hours perusing the selection. We had to drive to Philly this past week and had ordered a couple of CDs from here, so figured we would go there in person. My husband has been here many times, but this was my first visit. All I can say is WOW!!! The owner knows EVERYTHING about the store- he easily found the cds we were looking for and if he didn't have it stock, he would look it up and order it for you. If you want an awesome place for music, I would HIGHLY recommend this placel It would be quite difficult to walk in there and come out empty handed. . read more

I love this store!! I've been going for about 8 years now, and I wish I knew about it sooner. They have a great selection of music and dvds at great prices. I really like the guys who run the store, and they have ordered music for me, which is awesome! And I love looking at the music memorabilia on the walls. Excellent selection of new and used records as well as rock 'n roll memorabilia and merchandise. Main genres are classic rock, alt rock, and some metal. Decent CD collection as well. However, as a previous reviewer mentioned, there are a lot of fake/counterfeit/fantasy records especially amongst the picture disks. The good thing is that the guy is upfront about the authenticity of the records if you ask about them. Decent prices and they seem to get new selections in at a fairly decent rate. The store itself is a little cramped and the floor/carpet has seen better days. However, this is definitely a record store worth checking out. read more

I've been a customer for 35 years, since they were located in the old I-95 Marketplace. Great selection of CDs with good prices. Also some DVDs and Blu-rays. Highly recommended. On the downside, they've outgrown their current location so it's pretty cramped in there. I've removed one star from my review because I bought a new CD there once that was defective, and when I went to return it, the owner Mitch replaced it with a used copy of the same CD. If I paid for a NEW CD, I shouldn't have been given a USED one in exchange. Should've stuck to my guns and just asked for my money back. Otherwise, a decent shop. read more

the store should be called,"back to the future". you couldn't find two nicer guys to do business with. prices are great. they will order it for you if they can. i have been going there before i had grey hair. they have a great selection and i am thrilled that they carry vinyl again. so happy to see a great little business still around and getting better. so if your into dvd's, cd,s, and vinyl. do yourself a favor and check them out. you won't leave empty handed and you'll be back. thanks guys for being there for us music junkies. no rehab needed. just go and enjoy! wg read more
