My husband and I were both hospitalized within two months of each other. We went to Caldwell Hospital in Lenoir via the emergency room both times. We each had a condition that should have been diagnosed months before but was not. My husbands stay lasted eight days. Mine lasted three! We were referred to Dr. Aaron Goodwin at Robbins Medical Park. What a blessing. The office staff is very attentive. Our calls are always taken. We are called back right when needed. We were given a choice of 10 months from now. These lesions could portend a systemic autoimmune disease and need to be diagnosed when the blisters are present, I guess we will go to the hospital ER and see if they will call dermatology for a consult. Not all dermatology is cosmetic, acne or cancer screenings, I chose this practice because they advertise they have a dermatopathologist.

Instead, I was given a different medication to try without filling my long stand prescription. When I followed up to request the original prescription be reinstated, I was told I would need to come back in for another visit--despite already having been seen. Seeking clarification, I asked to speak directly with the medical director. Instead, I was contacted by the clerical office manager, who was not qualified to discuss or make decisions regarding my medical care. I reiterated my request to speak with the director, a licensed provider. I was told by the office manager, that even when I was seen again, they would not be refilling my prescription--again, without proper clinical justification or involvement from a licensed physician. This experience left me feeling unheard and dismissed. It further eroded my confidence in this offices trading and clinical expertise. I expect a healthcare provider to handle medication management with professionalism, transparency, and respect for patient history. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I will be filing a complaint with the North Carolina Medical Practice.
